Took my first week off in 4 years so im just getting back today will catch up this week and update when I get a minute, The Reason I do not use Ecozyne is beacuse we brew teas and the teas do all the work plus after the run we flip all the coco and get rid of almost all the roots so we are doing the same as Ecozyn.. JACK
Perlite sucks Hydroton is way better ive done both all the perlite ends up at the top. That looks great. Where is your perlite? My problem with Coco is the plants tend to sit in moisture for too long. We cut ours now with 50% perlite
If its taking your coco 3 to 4 days to dry out your using to big of pots or your plants aren't growing the way they should locked out. we plant small 6" cuttings in completly soaked coco beds and never had an issue with over watering.. We only flush at the end of flower with a very low ppm never just straight RO in coco until last week, And your 4th question can be found on the Aptus feed chart.A couple of questions for Jack or anyone that can help
1. Jack says he waters daily. In our Coco grow it takes the medium 3-4 days to dry out if we water until we get runoff. How to fix this? We are now adding 50% perlite hoping that helps out. Also running cloth pots.
2. Feed, Feed, Water or feed everytime?
JACK
3. How often is Jack flushing these grows?
4. I didn't hear any mention of a PK spike at week 4-6 at all, is that not being done?
Thanks in advance!
only the last week of flower..You don't let your coco dry out.
Our system is set u if 2 or 3 dripppers clog the others will make up with over spray. We usally hand water first 2 weeks of veg.Jack,
Hell of a grow you got here man Still workin my way through your thread.
Got a question about your drip system if you have the time. I've been running open ended drippers here for awhile (little squirrel cage stakes on the end of my lines), but I've never been able to get even water distribution to all my planters. If I don't have my pumps kicked pretty much on full-blast some of em won't get any nutes at all, and if I turn it up all the way everything just streamlines through the coco. Was looking for more of a slow drip type deal, or somekind of spraying ends where I could get good even saturation, but I was told anything other than open ends constantly gets clogged up with salts.
So yeah, just wondering if you have any trouble with your drippers clogging up? Thinkin I gotta have some resistance on the ends of my lines to get the effect I'm looking for. My tables are pretty crammed together though. It'd be a royal pain in the ass to have to be monitoring and switch out clogged drippers in the middle of a run.
I agree 100%If your having problems with overwatering skip a few days in between waterings or cut your coco with hydroton or perlite and you should be good to go.
Thanks BroKiller thread man... absolutely stunning nuggets, ran by a true greenthumb. SL
60% COCO and 40% Hydroton watered 2 to 3 time a day and you will kill it..The manufacturer said otherwise in their email back to us. Said to run 5.8-6.2
We typically run 6.2-6.5 and have no issues
Enzymes are important if your not brewing tea ..Reason I ask why is because Billy from aptus says ecozen is one of there most important additives. So wondering why jack doesn't run it. He must have a good reason.....
I have no idea what any of this says it looks like a bunch of letters..I do apologize for my rant I was only trying to express my real feelings about being a caregiver. The reason I do what I do is because it is my calling . To help people in need I've lost several family members to cancer and a few other problems , to only realize that to help relive a loved ones pain even if its just a little , like my wife's fibramilagia . I would that there pain if only I could because I prolly deserve the pain ,not them but I really can't control that , I grow because with the gift I have , you my not belive me but I do VERY WELL but it isn't because of the $ is why I grow . I grow because with my blessed gift of observation and attiention to detail and dilliagence will allow me to be able to to notice the subtle differences in the strain I BREED to hopefully with all of gods different Strains and Cannabinoids profile from the strais of different counties and regions which is unique to every strain . With knowledge and hard work maybe ill discover something new and medically exciting ,whith may be able to help someone I love , but I wouldn't stop there I would limit the access to Y strains to people on mear monetary terms, for I know one one person can raise enough of say i create a strain., hypotheticlly speaking , that could possibily totally cure my wife fibromigialia just as if she just took an aspirin for a headache, and then limit my strain to only those that can afford my strains dried flowers that is only grown by me. But the demand is high so high you can make a killing . But in fact that is exactly what is being done . People die because they can't afford the medicine or suffer UN NEEDLY until they do. All in the name of a FREE MARKET SOCIETY. ALL of us get sick sooner or later , with all the taxes we pay everyday TO UNCLE SAM and WITCH some of US have even fought to protect IT! To be practly LEFT BROKE WHEN YOU COME HOME . AND THEN it happens the holy grail of MEDS that just happens to make you feel the peace of mind and a brief release of pain is out of reach because you can't afford a months supply for 350+ but say you could afford 15 or even 30 for a clone and with the wonderful knowledge bestowed by jack witch is REALLY GOOD HEART FELT KNOWLEDGE . I'm just saying your quality is unsurpassed and these strains are wonderful , but its the Cannabinoids and THC with makes these plants so great even if someone can't make it as AWSOME as you. But he truth remains the Cannabinoids are still the same even if not as potent smoking cannabis you only get 10% of the theripudic effects you have to use it in a non psychoactive way IN NATRUAL FORM RAW ,UNHEATED,UNAGED NOT DRIED IN EATIBLE FORM WATCH THE YOUTUBE VIDEO CALLED "LEAF " is only 15 min long on the benefits of juicing raw cannabis , I hope you understand why I'm saying what I am . How can I juice your WHITEFIRE strain if I don't have the raw plant I'm not trying to GETHIGH ALL HE TIME I WANT TO HELP HE PEOPLE I LOVE AND TO HELP OTHERS NOT RUIN ANYONE'S LIVELY HOOD THE QUALITY YOU PRODUCE WILL ALL WAYS BE IN DEMAND I WOULDN'T WORRY , BUT WERE CARE TAKERS OF SOME THING SPECIAL NOT ITS KEEPER BRO , IT'S A GIFT TO THE PEOPLE A BLESSING NOT AN OBJECT TO BE VALUED IF PROHIBITION WAS NOT IN FORCE AND WE HAD TO MAKE THE SAME $ as a normal vegatable farmer which cannabis is a food source would you still put as much HEART AS YOU DO NOW if you were makin$ 3.00a pound instead of he $350.00an ounce? I whole heartedly WOULD . Because my heart in in it for more than just colored paper that man puts value on . Everyone in he end finds out just how worthtless when thier dying or STARVING AND THERE'S NO STORES TO GO BUY THIER FOOD . I DON'T KNW ABOUT YOU BUT ILL GRW MY FOOD AND MEDS, AND I'LL HELP WHO I CAN ALONG THE WAY THAT'S JUT WHO WE ARE . PEACE BROTHERS AND I HOPE YOU DON'T TAKE IT WRONG IT'S THERE'S A BIGGER PICTURE IN LIFE THAN MONEY , WHEN YOUR GONE FROM THIS EARTH YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU . PEACE TO ALL AND GOID HEALTH ,GOD BLESS
Tea only once..When we water more then once a day we only use base so Aptus and tea day we only water once if the plants need another watering just base..Thanks jack. Good to know!!! On the day you feed tea. Do you feed it twice a day like you do when your feeding nutes? Or just once and call it good?
We have done this before and it actually takes the plants longer to flower when we did 36 hrs dark so we go straight 12 on 12 offsay jack, do you still give your plants 36 hrs of dark time before the flip ?
thanks.
The last week we do not water we let the coco dry out and the leaves will start to droop and wilt it speeds up drying time by a couple days and really helps with the final ripening stages then the entire plant is chopped and hung then after the stems snap we put them in contractor bags/ large black trash bags for 3 days and burped daily then trimmed dry..Great info as always Jack!!!
What's your reason for letting the coco dry out last week of flower??
For sure Bro.. Just catching up after a few days off im getting ready to do a 30 k room rockwool Im going to hit you up Im putting together a few questions.. I want to see if I can hit 3 plus a light straight Hydro feed multipile times a day drain to waist feeding Aptus weekly...JACKLooks Great man!....Pictures are always better than even the most remote possibility of contamination.

When u chop the plants do you cut the fan leaves off and hang or leave it all on, dry then contractor bags.

At the end of week 5 we start removing fan leaves from week 5 to week 8 every day we remove fan leaves so when harvest time comes almost all the fan leaves are gone we have done it with and with out and the lower sites really finish better with the extra light this helps bump yield..The last week we do not water we let the coco dry out and the leaves will start to droop and wilt it speeds up drying time by a couple days and really helps with the final ripening stages then the entire plant is chopped and hung then after the stems snap we put them in contractor bags/ large black trash bags for 3 days and burped daily then trimmed dry..

There are pics on here of the entire plant drying and hanging.photos of this process would be really cool to see. maybe some more details too... been trying to figure out the best method for offsite trimming...
It depends what medium your in?Jack, long time reader first time poster. Compliments on your hard work. I have a pretty good grasp on the Aptus line, curious of your opinion on something. Running ebb and flow system, either buckets or tables, running base nutes/beneficials full time with aptus on day 6 and 7 of each week before the res is dumped and refilled. There are two products in the line that are not water soluble and will leave a bio film over time and then ecozen which they say would be unstable in water after 4-6 hours, so if you take considerations to avoid issues there it could work. In theory it makes sense but I'm not sure hydroton can maintain enough of a natural rhizosphere retaining the nutrients from aptus applications to even be relevant. Hope that made sense, doing a coco trial now, but been tossing this idea around for a while and needed someone to bounce it off
If we lost yield we would not do it..There is no difference the plant is going to get chopped and hung whats the difference if we let it dry on a string or in the beds all we are doing is shaving a couple days off dry time we are not letting the plant die just starving it to make sure its not wet when harvested. Hand watering is always better but both ways work really good just depends on time and what we have going on..When people automate they get lazy and dont show up to there garden its like not having a boss people would only show up to work when they had to not every day like they should..Very. Interesting Jack!!! You don't feel your losing any yield letting them dry out the last week?
Please post pics of your rock wool room...... always interested in what you've got going on. Really seems like you have your head wrapped around what works and what doesn't when it come to growing. Your green thumb is strong my friend
P.s. when u feed aptus. Do you use dippers or by hand?
I use the large Adjusto wings the biggest ones they sell all the flower rooms are 1000 watters we only use the medium adjusto wings with 600 watters in the mom rooms..Or over cuttings going into the bloom rooms..JACKJack going to do 600 watters. I have 7 year old 1k's magnetics that I have been replacing so I can run a total of 36 for the draw.
I have old hydrofarm hoods now that Im replacing.
Was going to use med. Adjust-wings. what size do u use? 22-27 do you use a light meter or anything to adjust your lighting?
When you do 600 do you do 2 or 3 over 4x8?
Thanx
T~P
It depends what medium your in?
For something like pure Hydroton I would go sterile and just use a base with something like zone and hit them with a pk booster week 4 and 5, But for Rock wool I would do a once a week feeding of aptus maybe even twice. Im about to do a test with Aptus and Rockwool and No Aptus and RockwoolI was kind of asking in a general sense, but lets say hydroton
in veg we top as much as possible we top then top again then the first 3 weeks of flower we are training supper cropping bending and tying this is the most important time to fill the canopy, Week 2 and week 3 of flower we remove all sucker branches if its not at the top of the canopy or a 1/4 of the way down its removed. That's awesome jack! Thanks.
Looking forward to giving aptus and your feed schedule a shot.
In veg and during stretch in flower. Do u do any other training besides wrapping stems around your scrog netting? Like topping, pinching and etc.....?
