3 weeks in with Aptus shits blowing up around here..

Hi Jack

I have a friend growing in Coco and he is struggling to figure out what base to use with Aptus and at what PPMs to go off.

I use personally use Aptus but I'm a outdoor/greenhouse guy in soil and I never check my PPms, I try to read the plant.

Do you have a week by week PPM chart I can give him with a base that worked good for you. He uses Canna A & B at the moment but any help would be great

I've been using heavy 16 with aptus and pretty damn happy... but have a friend knocking it outta the park with aptus and gh flora nova

both of us keeping ppm's between 800-1200 thats the trippiest thing i've noticed since running aptus... not even paying that much attention to ppm's anymore and using significantly less NPK with better results

i was wondering about re-doin the beds too....do they add sensizyme when they flush to start root breakdown? when they flush all the nutes out do they gotta let the beds sit for a few days and dry up a bit or just replant into a soggy bed?

Agreed↑↑ containers should be drying out daily if not twice a day. Also he doesn't add a pk booster as he already is using aptus...hence the name of the thread.

ya know i hear this and then i hear yes but make sure you're getting 10-15% runoff. I can have my medium dry out daily if i just give a 3 gal container 2-3 solo cups worth of water

hi,
plug the dripper into the main line and run a jumper off the end to the plant. the open end wont get salted up and the dripper does its job.

If you keep your roots soaked you're asking for trouble. Thats been my experience thusfar with using Sunshine Advanced #4 which is mostly Coco I believe.

If your having problems with overwatering skip a few days in between waterings or cut your coco with hydroton or perlite and you should be good to go.

Thats what i said we were doing. We are now adding 20% more perlite to the Sunshine Advanced and also running Airpots

I believe Sunshine Advanced #4 is mostly Peat, however the Sunshine Advanced Ultra Coir is all the same ingredients with Coco being the dominate ingredient. So your problem is using a Peat dominate medium?

Ya im switching over from soil as well. Im lovin it so far. Im not new to using RW so this is right up alley.
Can't wait to push a run through flower. I already bought Canna coco A & B so Im going to run with them. Love they are the same for veg and bloom. Cause Im definitely going to use my coco over and over. Im on three years with my soil always amending it of course.

Ive just started my first round last week.

You are not in coco. You need to treat your medium like soil.

The manufacturer said otherwise in their email back to us. Said to run 5.8-6.2

We typically run 6.2-6.5 and have no issues

Hey jack. Or if anyone can answer for him. The one day a week he feeds with Aptus nutes. Does he use ecozen? Also does he use the aggressive feed chart? Thanks.
