3 new flavors in cook's kitchen

12/12 on 12/25

12/12 on 12/25

I decided for a variety of reasons to step things up a bit and go into flower a bit sooner than planned. Ideal harvest date being one of them. The cabinet is gonna fill up fast being another reason. The G13 reveges from last time are really filling in, even with a few cuts being donated to a friend :friends:
and I just KNOW those Thais are gonna go bonkers.

So after the last replant, I decided on Christmas day..."merry Christmas to me" ...CLICK and threw em into 12/12. A lot of the plants are smaller than I would normally flower them, but no biggie. I'm about to take clones for the next round, and there are a LOT of plants. A few, like the Thais, and one Blue Moonshine in particular are getting some size on them.
Soooooooo... 48 hours into 12/12, I've got a couple hairs pokin out here n there. The best part....I do have at least 1 female Bangkok Betty :woohoo:
The biggest one, Betty Ford's tall self is showing some definite signs of being a lovely lady. I think by the time she's done doing her thing, I'll be glad I went 12/12 so early. Looks like a real cabinet filling monster in the works.
My next update will have pics. NICE pics thanks to Mrs Cook, who got me a Nikon Coolpix 4600 for Christmas. Sweeeeeeeet. This will replace my old Nikon and then some.
Hopefully I can avoid dropping this one on cement like the last one :pointlaug
Happy New Year, my IC family.

still figuring out the new Nikon. The 4600 is a little different from the 2100.
in the mean time, I've got 2 definite female Bangkok Betties :woohoo:
Still lots of undecided plants here.
2 little semi-healthy clones started showing signs of spider mites NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
So I removed them from the cab and neemed the hell outa them, kept them in isolation, and neemed the hell outa all the other plants as well. none of them are showing signs of mites, only these 2 funky lil clones. I've gotta assume the worst though. Fortunately I'm still early enough in flower to treat for mites. I think (and hope) I've caught this before it gets stupid.
today I put in a new bulb in the HPS sice my old one is long overdue for replacement. That should kick things up for flowering!
Photos soon!

Congrat's on having two females with the Bangkok Betty. You will be happy with them for sure. Hopefully one of them will lean over towards the mother and that nice Chocolate Pheno. Will see soon enough. Now, figure out that new camera and let's see some pictures. Joking. Sorry to heard about the mite's. Let's hope those little sucker's die off from the neem oil.
Good luck

yeah GDW, I'll be kickin the mites' asses before they get a chance to really take off.
The 2 that are positively females are the 2 that were similar in appearance as seedlings. Now they look a good bit different from each other. Betty Rubble I did a real nice job of topping and training so far. She's gonna have a nice six pack of colas right up top. Nice and evenly spaced. Betty Ford, the taller one wasn't topped as well. Though it has nice side branching, it still is forming one main top, growin in a more classical shape. Not for long. It's currently bent over, tied down with a bit of LST action to let some of those lower branches catch up and fill out. That third Betty (Davis) is still undecided. After a nice watering today and changing to my new bulb, she'll declare sex pretty quick. I have to admit, I wouldn't mind terribly if the third was a dude. I'd like to cook up some fresh beans outa this batch :D
Hopefully soon with the pics.

It's been awhile and was wondering if you got any pictures yet? I know you got a new camera and was playing with it. Just wondering how those plants are doing.
Take care

all is well, except the @#$@%! software

all is well, except the @#$@%! software

Hey GDW.
Good to see you pop in to the kitchen. Yep, all is well in Elcetric Ladyland. I figured out the camera, and I've been anxious to show off some photos but the Nikon software is giving me a pain in the arse! It keeps insisting there's a previous version of the software from the last Nikon. We've uninstalled the hell out of every part of it, but it's still giving us grief. :wallbash:
So now, gotta REinstall,, and then Re-UNinstall the old software so I can install the new software. Oh brother
BUT...as for the plants. I've definitely got 2 female, and 1 male Bangkok Betty. Betty Davis was the dude. Of the 2 remaining females, I tied down the tall one (Betty Ford) that wasn't as well topped. It's now filling out in all other directions. Betty Rubble appears to be the superstar so far. She's packing on some size, and is going to have a LOT of tops. In both cases, I'll be appying some serious twine real soon. After they're a few weeks into flowering, I'll knock up a couple buds with some of Betty Davis' pollen.
I think I'll also use some of this pollen to knock up a bud or two of Sour Bubble :chin: Try for some Thai buzz in a smaller package.
After seeing how fast the roots filled up the pots on previous transplants, I believe I'll put these 2 in 5 gallon pots to finish up. It may be a bit more than they need for their sze, but hey, let em have room to play!.
It looks like I've got 2 female DP Blue Moonshine, and 2 or 3 female Sour Bubble. The 2 G13s I'm revegging are also filling in well.
Right now I'm going to put together my aerocloner. I'll be taking some cuts of these plants, as well as receiving some new cuts from a friend tomorrow :D
Stay tuned yall. If I EVER figure out this friggin software, I'll have lots of new pics.

Glad to hear you got a nice mix of M/F ratio. Sound like you got some winner there already. I was very lucky with these seeds and it seems that the number of good plants per pack is very high. I'm really looking forward to your pictures. There are two others that just started the same seeds and they are some great growers also. Your going to see alot of the Bangkok Betty very soon. Looks like you guys and compair notes and all. I'm looking forward to the future of this cross and i can't wait to get back to work on her. Still have to grow ou my seeds and look to see what i have in the bunch i still have for testing and then grow out the last of the seeds i found the parents in and see if there are anything different in those. Alot of in breeding down the road and i'm sure members will be very happy with the seeds that are out there now and the ones that will be coming out later on after probation. Really looking forward to working the Bangkok Betty line to a IBL. Well, thanks for the update and i hope you get that software all setup and working. I know i can't wait to see those plants.
Take care

FINALLY figured out the software!

FINALLY figured out the software!

boy, what a pain!
That Nikon software was tricky, but finally got it sorted out. Here's the first new pic from the new Nikon. This particular shot is of a Blue Moonshine dude that just got kicked out. Sorry dude!

I actually have a few other photos to post, but they are from the camera I've been borrowing. In fact, I'll probably do that next...plug in the other camera and show off thesse few shots of the Bangkok Betties.
Thank you for stopping by cook's kitchen. Tomorrow's special is hash!(and I don't mean corned beef hash)

Bring them on, been waiting to see those killer Bangkok Betties you got. Can't wait to see the formation of them. Alwas brings a smile to my face. The Blue Moonshine male is just awesome. Very nice color and shows that the Nutz are just right.
Great Job

DOH! For some reason, I can't get the photos from the OLD camera to transfer...I suspect I lost part of the software when uninstalling all the NEW software  OH well. Now that I have the new Nikon all figured out, I'll go shoot some new pics tomorrow and post them bad boys up. GDW, I think you'll be impressed with the formation on these. TONS of budsites. Only little popcorn buds right now, but they'll get bigger. Damn shame these other pics didn't work out. I have a few nice ones of the Betties sittin in an office chair. LOL.
The ones I take tomorrow will be even better. Stay tuned :D

popcorn is poppin in cook's kitchen

popcorn is poppin in cook's kitchen

Popcorn BUDS that is!

I FINALLY got my new Nikon Coolpix 4600 up and running, and it's crazy software all figured out. So I figured we'd havea look around the kitchen.
What's cookin in the kitchen? We got popcorn poppin! Popcorn buds...EVERYWHERE! Most of the ones in this shot are from the Thai, but there's a few others peeking in.

As I mentioned earlier in the thread, I'm trying my damndest to keep these sativas low and wide.

This next shot is of Betty Ford, my tallest Thai. As you can see, she's been tied down to let the lower part catch up with the top.

Whereas her sister Betty Rubble filled out real well after the topping, and so far hasn't need to be tied down. I believe in the near future I'll tie her side branches outward to allow more light to the center of the plant.

Betty Davis ended up being a dude. He'll be hanging around just long enough to make himself useful.

As you can see from the view of his tops, he's gonna blow his love dust any day now.

But of course, this isn't strictly a Bengkok Betty Thaio grow. Here's a quick peek at a Sour Bubble 3 top while we're here.

hehe, serious difference in appearence between the long thin light green sativa leaves, and the short, wide dark indica leaves. The Sour Bubble and the Blue Moonshine we'll give me something to play with while I wait for the sativas to finish up.

HELL YES, Now that's what i've been waiting for. That first picture is just awesome. Man, I hope you kept a few cuts around. They are for sure looking really good. Capt Crip and CBF are growing some out and i'm waiting to see what they get also. BIG Question! Are any of them smelling like Chocolate yet? From the looks of the pictures and bud size. I would guess they are starting to smell like Chocolate if you got the Chocolate Pheno. I was just wondering if you got that Pheno. The stem will smell first them the rest of the plant within a few days. Glad to see your going to make some seeds. Nice to see them being around till i get back. Boy, I'm looking forward to growing these seeds out myself. Got about 100 seeds to grow out and see what i get from the first batch. Parents are still around and in a safe place, so making seeds of this same batch isn't a problem. Also, looking forward to growing out all the other Thai genes i got also. Well, great job and you really made my night with these pictures. Awesome job for sure. I'm inlove with that first plant. Love the leaf and bud formation.
Take care

Thanks bro. I thought you'd like the looks of these :D
So far, I haven't detected a choco smell, but I've only given their buds a sniff. I'll give the stems a rub and see what we get.
I'm loving growing these plants so far. Big fun, and growing sativas in my little cab is always a challenge. And yeah, I really dig them classic tropical sativa leaves.
Later bro.

Congrat's, your doing a awesome job. Their color are perfect and they are saying they are loving you. This is what the mother does when she turns. You will smell her one day and the smell will be off. You can't figure out what she's doing and the smell is off from the normal smell. Then the next morning there will be a lite chocolate smell. Then the following day will be outright strong chocolate smell, so keep an eye out for that werid smell, then you know she's going to turn. Man, I'm stoked for you. They are looking so well.
Great Job and glad your happy so far.
Take care

who's that lurking behind the deep fryer?

who's that lurking behind the deep fryer?

OH, it's one of my 2 G13 reveg plants.
They're just doin their thing in the back corner of the kitchen.
These are my first revegges. couldn't happen to a better plant.
At the last minute, my impulsive self decided to reveg my 2 best G13s from last round. I trimmed their root ball (also a first for me). They took a small ammount of damage from getting somewhat rootbound and getting the trim job, but they're loving the new legroom and doing well.

chucky, Sleepy..good to seeya. And yes Sleepy...get to preppin that brownie mix...use that dark funky lookin butter in the back o the fridge

betty rubbles 6 pack sounds like a nice tight technique man, good choice of bending over betty ford and letting those side shoots give the main cola a run for its money too :sasmokin:

I wonder what they each produce respectivley given their slight differences. :chin:

when you mentioned you might apply even more outward bend to betty rubbles 6 pack it reminded me of a grow i did a while ago i used thumb tacks pressed into the side of the pots, then just used twine or thin rope or even rubber bands to pull out my side branches, it worked a charm with getting more light in there.

hahah Betty Davis the dude looks like a lady :biglaugh:
sorry to hear of your male but hey, you may want to use that pollen for something interesting, it may not be useless after all, some nice crosses perhaps?

sour bub and blue moonshine sound like a nice menu to order from until the thai is ready!, nice growing bro :canabis: great to see those betty's kicking it strong.Youve made their maker very happy by the looks of it Billy Goat is smiling from seeing those pics for sure :sasmokin:

haha you even got plants behind the deep fryer aswell?
those g13's are looking mighty healthy for re-veg efforts, lovely camera shots too :joint:
