Cheer up. Maybe the cold and wet killed a lot of obnoxious bugs.

My 25 years in the bush in Maine told me a cold wet spring leads to bugs with a fucking vengeance. And the times when it could be warm and nice is such a short window that every day lost to the cold cannot be made up. It is jut lost.

black flies are very highly attracted to the bright blue tarp color, yup the cheap ass tarps... figure out how to keep yourself very nearby the blue material after you've sprayed it w/aerosol adhesive glue, a rubber cement.

One woman fixed some of the tarp to an umbrella, walked up & down her driveway several times in the am & would eliminate the flies from biting her during her gardening, they were all stuck to her umbrella :dunno:

Black flies come out as soon as the first days break 60. For us in Maine it was traditionally the first two weeks in May. Just as soon as you were ready to get out and do the garden and other outdoor shit here they come. Anyone who has never experienced being in the northern bush during the peak of black flies cannot possibly imagine the horror.

We had head nets hanging in the mud room. I can still here the constant tapping as the little fuckers bang up against the plastic hood trying to get in. All around your ankles, wrists and neck you had a solid ring of bites from the little bastards. At night when I closed my eyes I saw swarms flittering around my face. The kids would get completely covered with bites. The only thing that drove the black flies away was summer heat and if it never got hot the bugs kept coming. Of course the mosquitos came out after the flies died down so the fun continued right up to fall. It was always kind of refreshing when it got colder and you could go out in the woods unprotected.

I woke up to 3 inches of wet snow and 34 degrees this morning. I had the MMJ covered so some will make it. Of course some tree branches are broken. I guess I will be buying some clones this year. What happened to spring here by Denver?

It won't be long in coming, some of the
motorheads are working on their rides...

Our races are unsanctioned, rules are in
place but can be voted on/changed yearly.

Weight in the cars is often achieved by
adding cases of beer, and are often drunk
by all in the car. This shit is loose as can be.

oh yeah, rear wheel drive only & no studded tires.

I'll take some pics this winter season.......

Up north about 2 1/2 hours south of Canada. Lol, we already have some color on the leaves, for like 2 weeks now. Fall is definitely here.

send it on south, if you can. :woohoo: got a few trees changing here now. walnuts change color/drop first (not very pretty though) then the maples fire up. THEY are beautiful...:dance013:

Labor Day Monday it was 100 degrees F. here in Denver. Nice and toasty outside and set a new record in Denver for the hottest day ever in September.
