Good morning and you all know how to make someone feel good :)

MK, I have to coax her in and out - Buds scrape and fans buzz, hehehe. The cab temps are generally mid 80's. Sometimes it gets very close to 90 on a hot day. Even my lights-off, minimum temp is in the low 80's.

Still on 3 bulbs, but will use the 4 bulb wattage for any calculations. In general the cab seems to run 2 or 3 degrees above ambient. This cab will really go off in my winter

Cheers Thund! I've always leaned towards lower plant numbers but bigger plants. Part of the whole prohibition thing really. Every style obviously has it's advantages and disadvantages but I like the fact that I have one huge linked root system and stem network for the whole canopy area. Also it lets you really concentrate on training and feeding. I'm loving the hell out of my first sog (the tent) but it also feels like I can't give each one the individual attention they need, and pots get taken out and put back a different way, and watered and fed even if they don't *need* it so much, and it doesn't seem as constant and regulated as I usually like it, but I'll get there. :)

:santa1: :elf::elf::elf:

Hi bro thanks! Alright well here is the big tripout surprise. You know the 3d magic eye things you stare at? Well stare at this  (cross your eyes until both images interlock in the centre)

That's the second one I ever made! This next one of the cups is the first one I did. It's very easy to do with no equipment needed other than a camera and an image editor. Even MS Paint would probably let you do it.

:xmasnut: Okay so who can see them, who can't? I'll do mo' betta ones if people dig it. :)

Wow Scrub very cool idea and a great pic. Your girl(s?) look awesome.

Have you played with time lapse movies or pics? My babies are 2.5 weeks old from seed. I have been making time lapse movies every day. Its a great way to check their growth.

I'm loving what your PLL lights are doing. I can only hope mine work as well.

Howdy oldy! Yeah just one girl in the cupboard. The young ones in the tent are still unsexed but should be soon (I hope). I started a thread about timelapse and even bought a webcam for it but kind of forgot about it. Okay I'll be honest, I couldn't get that damn software to work this time! Funnily enough though, I used to make stop motion videos when I were just a lad - A lot of fun. That was before these new fangled computers and the photoshapes and the whatnots :smoke: (sorry... I had a Ricky moment there)

Don't you worry about your pl-ls. You made the right choice. A very, very right choice! :D I haven't even begun to express how much I love 'em. And this is by no means a perfect grow either - a lot went wrong - summer, root aphids, only my second grow indoors, my nutes fell out of solution and I still use them, I switched to semi-organic and stopped checking ph, I removed a bulb, I added a 10,000k  and lets not forget the most important thing - I didn't use 2700k!!!!!! Haha that last one is a joke, but hopefully it's clear that when pl-ls start getting used, the results of great, unhindered, unproblematic grows will be far beyond anything I get here. My canopy isn't even full, the fans soak up all the best light!

wow...just one girl, I am most impressed.

I'm vegging under 2 x 55 4100Ks and have 4 x 55w 3000Ks all set up for flowering. Of course I will flower some cuttings to establish sex and identify my mothers.

Yeah I forgot it was one of you posts that turned me on to Dorgem. It works great with my webcam. I take a pic every 5 minutes for 18 hours and then use PhotoLapse to make a 14 sec movie. I am astonished with how fast they grow and also how much they grow during the 6 hours of darkness.

Anyway, you have a magnificent grow going and I'm following it every day.

You da man,
OO

I can find pl-l bulbs/lamps but I can't find fixtures. Do you have to buy the sockets and manually wire em?

Here is a link to the Sunleaves Nova. It holds 2 55 watt bulbs. The photo doesn't look anything like the fixture in real life. I don't know why no one has the correct photo up. It actually has closed ends on the lamp and the reflector is smooth, bright and reflective.

Next time I will buy my fixtures from AH Supply. I think their reflectors would be brighter than my Nova is.

Hey Disco! Man, you're talking to the dude that bought a pre-made unit to avoid wiring, haha! But yeah, if you want to totally DIY it, you will need bulbs, bases, ballasts, a degree in electronics, and possibly some clips to support the weight of the bulb, but wire will do in a pinch. As Researcher pointed out, they're not too hard to find pre-assembled.

Thanks a lot Researcher! More will come I'm sure. I'll try some external "tray extended" shots with the flash tonight. And good luck with your lights

Cheers Oldone! Ok waitaminute. so you have to use a seperate application to make the movie? That's where I was having problems I think. I remember I had movies working the first time I used it but I forget if I had to add another program. So Photolapse or similar is needed to make movies? I probably could have read the tutorial better but it was long :

Yeah mate check here:

Its great and very easy. I also keep the last pic of every day. At the end I want to make a vid of the whole grow. Should be cool. I'm not sure how to post movies and I think the native 640 x 480 resolution is a bit big for IC.

For all; I bought my fixtures from AHSupply and the kits -though expensive- are top quality and I would recommend them to anyone. I did a detailed cost analysis and found that the sockets were the big cost...$17 each on ebay...and that sealed the deal for me. Fast shipping, top quality hardware and fast shipping...

Cool, thanks for the heads-up, OO, I'll check it out! Why not join up all the short vids to make a long one of the whole grow? I think photobucket.com lets you store images up to 1 meg.

Boom, my jaw dropped in consecutive levels :jawdrop:

God damn. That last pic! You sir, are an expert in your field. So are the external ones using a tripod? The PeeDees look set for a lovely life and your bong looks set for a busy christmas :smoke:

Also

Gotta give a shout to the NUMBER ONE Cheesebud! for nominating me, yes me  for an icmag POTM. Thanks so much, and I'm not even pissed that you picked one of my least favourite pics, hahaha, nah just kidding mate. Thanks a lot, seriously.

Sockets are cheap. You should order those from a local electrical supply shop and order the sockets and bulb supports made by Etlin Daniels.

http://www.etlin.com/ED_pdfs/C_Compact_Fluorescent.pdf

If you prefer, you can order 2G11 sockets from here. $1.99 each - they come in packs of four.

The locking sockets from Etlin on page 17 of the above .pdf are superior. Part you want is CFG211-RSM-REL - comes with a pin locking feature on the socket which is highly desireable. Electrical supply shop will charge you about $3.00 a piece. You may have to wait a week to ten days. Big deal :)

Order the bulb supports at the same time. They run about $1 each.

Don't get 2G11 sockets on eBay.
