205w LED vs 400w HID Let the battle begin!

Damn, I want me an LED. I have had some heated debates about LEDs being better than HID...and I still stand my ground when I say LEDs Rule. They are the future....Nuff said!!

Actually plasma is the future, but that's another thread.

Yeah, Plasma is not as efficient as LED's as of now. They have a long way to catch up before passing LED's!

Hmmm, plasma in my home vs a small plastic diode?

You are so right, Mr. MeanBean. However, I didn't say anything about efficiency. If it were about efficiency we'd all be driving a Prius and using LEDS already.

Its about results.

With that said, the Plasmas are currently more efficient than an HPS.

Unless there is something we do not know that was completely uncalled for. Based on how she has handled herself on the forums I would think her service skills would be most excellent.

I, for one, will be ignoring you and ordering from LEDGirl. Probably start with just veg but based on what I see I will decide whether or not I can use them effectively in flower or not.

I will worry about Sulfur Plasma when it comes out.

You got some fine looking ladies there Blaze.

Lokes, I think the plasma Idea is cool, could replace HId. But I do have a question.

So when you have a 1000watt bulb, you must keep it higher off the canopies then say 2 600watt lights would need to be. 1 reason would be heat, another would be the bud bleaching.

shouldn't these plasma lights be designed around a flat panel, like a TV screen? You figure with that intense of light you wouldn't want it just at one point, seems like ALOT of waste..

But in trying to create the best bud possible, I could see it happen if you throw all efficiency asside..

In some peoples scenarios though getting away from that electric bill is great. For 1 the "high bill" suspicion is gone and for 2, you don't have to pay as much..

But this is off topic so yeah enough

Good job Blazeoneup.

I won't be pulling up a chair just yet though. I've seen several LED v. HID comparisons in veg. And I must say, it's no surprise to see the LED kick ass.

But the real test will be flowering. If you get anywhere near 6 ozs with the LED's, I will be sold. Even 4 ozs is comparable to HID range.

When do you plan on flipping to 12/12?

Wow ... and I thought I've already seen the best LED grow. Super thread. I'm prolly buying smallest wattage panel for moms, clones and veg. LED panel solves all my problems with heat and stealth.

I had to dunk the plants last week for mites, I gotta dunk them one more time and give them a good power washing, I don't wanna flip them and mites end up taking over later in flower.

Soon as I feel confident the mites are gone I will flip them.

Thanks for the update!

No rush... definitely want to make sure they're at 100% before flipping, thanks again for taking this test seriously. :respect:

Wont rush it that's for sure, Infact if I am not 100% confident they are mite free I wont be flipping them at all instead I'll be starting this test over from scratch!

If your going to restart the test, are you going to use the same strains or switch it up? not like it would make a huge difference in the end result.

I tell the same thing to everyone: FLORAMITE. $30 on eBay can save you a WORLD of trouble with mites. It only stays in the plant's system for 4 weeks, is very non-toxic compared to other products like Avid, and works FAR BETTER. 2 sprays spaced one week apart and you'll never see mites again. It's literally that good. Spray it right before putting them in bloom and you'll be fine.

what she said; spray at the flip with floramite and eagle-20... it's almost like cheating

Fluorescents overall rock for veg but what matters to me is a flowering light. Can't wait for the flip.
