At least you guys were hippies for a while, my generation gets hurt by words.
"for a while" ? you sound like my kids. when they were in school, i'd see their buddies at end of day. one day when we got home, they asked "hey Dad...kids at school asked if you used to be a hippy." "used to be? USED TO BE? see this hair down to my damn waist? my hair has been gray since i was 14 years old. what fucking changed? i still smoke, you know." just because i quit wearing bellbottoms and wearing my "smoke Colombian" t-shirts...jeez. :( i guess it's better to be thought of as a has-been than a never-was. :smoke:

This and many of your other statements are not rational with your support of Trump.

Here you seem to logically support the working class, unionization, deprivatization, regulated healthcare, and redistribution of wealth through higher taxation rates for the wealthy. All ideas of which come from socialism, whether libertarian or statist.

This shows a misunderstanding of the core differences between capitalism and socialism. McCarthyism in this country has led every one of us to be taught that socialism's only form is that of communism or of the statist variety. And thus inherently the enemy of freedom of both thought and practice. The communist defeats of libertarian socialism have hidden and trampled on these thoughts especially in Eastern Europe. But the writings and ideas are still there written for all to study and glean what they may from their texts.

Capitalism on the other hand will always play out into an oligarchy. It's the penultimate point of capitalism being the apex before the rapid decline. Rule by wealth is the only goal capitalism can achieve. It's literally "He who has the gold, makes the rules." Hence large corporations, conglomerates, and ultra wealthy individuals can pass legislation and act with impunity. Which in turn, leads to their acquisition of more assets and capital.

There was a time in this country that socialist unions kept the capitalist leaders somewhat in check. It began in the early 1900s but has been swiftly stripped away since the 1950s. If you need examples of this I suggest a history book or two before you engage in these types of discussion.

Blindly following any leader who supports capitalism (Any and all politicians in this country) and eschews all points of socialism is a fools errand and an egregious mistake that further hurts every single American that works for a living.

No politician has the working class' interest in mind. That doesn't pay then as well. Their merely overpaid mouthpieces for corporations via lobbying and other backroom dealings.

those first three paragraphs could have fooled me lol. i don't support trump and i'm criticizing the democrats from the left.
but you don't criticize the Republicans from any direction so it makes folks suspect that your motives are coming from the far right.

at this point, i would vote for Nikki Haley over Biden but i would vote for Biden over Trump and just call it damage control.

today Paul Ryan, the Republican former Speaker of the House, called Trump an "authoritarian narcissist."

I don't think has-been is the right word, I meant more there was a movement back in the 60's-70's that doesn't really exist today.

To be fair, no one needs to criticize the GOP at this point in time, their actions speak volumes more than any commentator could. Trashing the republicans is about as fruitful as telling people the sky is blue. You'd be better off talking to a wooden Indian than trying to debate the right these days.

Man, Trump really did a number on the democrats thought processes though, got them praising pieces of shit like John McCain, Dick Cheney, and Nikki Haley. All those three are straight old-guard war hawk republicans that have been embraced by the democrats simply because they're not Trump, sad, I remember when the left was actually left leaning...

well ok, all politicians are assholes. but, we've known that for a long time. unfortunately, our choices are rather limited and i think most folks are probably not very happy about always having to pick what they perceive to be the lesser of two evils.

so the choice is to participate or not. to at least try and steer the country in the right direction.

i think we are all being played by both parties. but apathy is not the answer. bitching and whining don't accomplish much either.

make your preferences known at the polls. if you don't you have nothing to say.

I'm well acquainted with the modest Midwest Republicans who go to church and live precisely as they're told and tell their kids to never do differently.

They don't have to be complete assbags just because they look and act like it.

I hold hope for reaching across the aisle and Mr. Ryan is certainly not completely duped.

I can see working with someone who doesn't want anarchy or a dictator.

My "criticisms" come in the form of the policies that I support. Policies that would ensure a republican never wins another election. Policies the democrats do not support and will actively side with republicans to put a stop to.

Whereas you seem just fine to vote for them, as long as you appeal to the partisan Lincoln Project tribe and mention how bad "Drumpf" is on the daily.

This is all it takes for you people huh

"you people", lol. a lot hiding in such a short statement.

whereas Chump devotees like him because he "never compromises". another way of saying "if you don't give me what i want, i'll hold my breath, kick my feet, scream, and fuck everything up! you'll be sorry!". never compromising means that you get NOTHING. see also Tubervilles attack on the US military...:shucks:

they are complaining about not having influence, yet refuse to touch the steering wheel because others have "hands-on" too. if you don't vote, no one GAFF when you complain. help steer or get out of the car...
does this justify taking a left turn? your hatred of Trump seems to be self loathing.
phffftt steering from the back seat. wear your seat belt son.
