:good: "leaving MAGA" yup. i've been seeing red MAGA ball caps in antique stores for well over two years now. dirt cheap, too...
I still have an original Ross Perot campaign sign given to me by a former business associate, and a Wally Hickel campaign sign as well, from back when Hickel was running for Governor of Alaska the FIRST time (their campaign sold pickles at inflated prices to raise campaign money, and there were signs that read, "Eat a Pickle for Hickel", then Hickel won the Governor's spot in Alaska during the Vietnam war, but Nixon appointed him to the Secretary of Interior spot in Nixon's White House, then Hickel eventually resigned over the SE Asia Police conflict.

Hickel had more integrity than I initially gave him credit for.

Been thinking about seeing if there's any value in these old signs.

Eating a 100mg edible to catch some shut-eye.

I have to get up early and water before I stand in line.

My neighbors are very much in support of Trump, and, though the line is usually fairly short, I always get dirty looks.

I plan on ripping a huge joint before going into the polling place... maybe that's going to give them something besides tie dye to bitch about.

Wish me luck. If you don't hear back from me by lunch, I might have been shot by fascists. If Trump wins I might be better off.

Standing in line to vote sounds like a drag.

I sure like voting by mail. The ballot shows up, I fill it out and send it back. I'm already done and already received an email saying my ballot was received. Should be this way everywhere. We don't even have polling locations. Just places to drop off your ballot instead of mailing it. You can sit down with a drink and smoke a bowl at home while filling it out which is exactly what I do.

The U.S. state of Oregon established vote-by-mail as the standard mechanism for voting with Ballot Measure 60, a citizen's initiative, in 1998. The measure made Oregon the first state in the United States to conduct its elections exclusively by mail. The measure passed on November 3, 1998, by a margin of 69.4% to 30.6%. Political scientists say Oregon's vote by mail system contributes to its highest-in-the-nation rate of voter turnout, at 61.5% of eligible voters.

Vote-by-mail in Oregon has maintained a high level of support since it was passed in 1998. A survey done in 2003 by Dr. Priscilla Southwell, a professor of Political Science at University of Oregon, shows that 81% of respondents favored the vote-by-mail system while 19% favored traditional voting at poll booths. The poll also shows high favorability among registered Democrats (85%) and registered Republicans (76%) alike. Thirty percent of respondents said they voted more often since vote-by-mail was enacted.

I don't even trust a ballot drop box.

Haven't you ever seen mail and packages dumped?

I can't risk the anxiety this election.

+1 for Harris

"Hollywood icon Dick Van Dyke has announced that he’ll be voting for Kamala Harris during the historic US election on Tuesday (5 November)."

"The 98-year-old actor, famed for his roles in family musicals like Mary Poppins and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang confirmed his decision on Monday (4 November), just hours before the majority of Americans go to polls to vote for the 47th president."

Near as I can tell it's all because we haven't been given the normal 2.5 - 3 years between elections to get some peace from the political news for people to recover from the trauma of the previous election. Instead after this last time around we had the constant big lie of the vote being stolen up until Jan. 6, 2021 and then every day after that we had the constant political drama of Tump's trials, his continued denial of the election results despite any proof and that continued on pretty much a daily basis right up to the campaign season for 2024 and all the way thru until now. Worse yet it's almost certain to continue after today's election. The human brain was never meant to be able to withstand such a prolonged constant stream of bullshit and it's driven a whole bunch of people crazy. Many of whom were already on the verge of insanity from the pandemic and all the isolation it created.

Guam picked Vice President Kamala Harris over former President Donald Trump in a non-binding 2024 U.S. presidential straw poll, an island exercise that has predicted the winner of the popular vote for American president since 1980.
