I think he meant it's more difficult getting good seed/clone stock to start from
In the old days you could start from every pack, just choose and breed it out
Today just getting to the first corner stone is a hassle I didn't imagine in my worst dreams of happening.

"Indica has nothing to do with degradation of lines it is just an excuse too"
It certainly does. Have you ever smoked authentic C Gold, Thaistick,Hawaiian or Cambodian in the,1970's? Indica is bland and boring and it brought that to the table, now it's in there and unless someone has pure unadultered tropical or Indian nld genetics,it's not going anywhere.Skunk#1 is in everything now too, there's your culprit.

Indica is never boring and hazes are amazing too, they both share the same spectrum of high just different ends
I used to smoke the heaviest of indicas and it got me blasted everytime
Not sativa nor indica is driven the game down, it's shady practices.

And SK1 is the mother of the cheese line probably the top 3 clones of all times
So no, strains are not to one to blame.

When they added indica the genetics that got you high were watered down and now you get stoned and weed became narcotic. It wasn't like this back then.Growers wanted yield to make money and indica provided that.Strains like big bud and shit like that infiltrated quality genes and became dominant. You didn't go to sleep after smoking good weed, you couldn't get to sleep. There are still genes in there to get you high but to fish them out is a great undertaking if it's even possible. First you will need very long flowering plants.

Not true it has always been difficult to do this, and most can not and could not even duplicate what they started with. If they could there would be lots of inbred true breeding lines still around. Inbreeding depression is just an excuse for bad selection and growing methods. Once a line goes to hemp or cbd, I know of no way to reverse this, and lots of ways for it to happen. Indica has nothing to do with degradation of lines it is just an excuse too. Out crossing has been over used to try and combat degradation of the high because it is or was effective this too is becoming an excuse. Just my opinion based on experience not scientific fact.
Ive been at it longer than most. What I said is a fact. The gene pool is poluted and degraded and wiill never recover. Making identical copies of what we have now is as good as it will ever be. There are no genetics left with those recessive traits like we had 50 years ago. The weed was stronger, way more flavor, the resin would cloud up your baggie. Completely different chemotypes today. Breeding in the 70s was way easier.

I have to agree.
Each generation if the ones doing the seeds didn't pick a better selection, the lines are sure to degrade
From 1:1 to 1:10 to 1:100 until you get to the 1:1,000,000 like @JetLife175 said

Heart breaking.
I never thought I would have to look for something decent to smoke, I was the king of kush around my part of the country (small country lol)
Now I barley get high
Sad times

Not everyone has the same opinion. Some people rely on "indica" as medicine to treat their symptoms.

Yes I have smoked most of these back in the day, I sat on the beach in southern cali smoking thai, and partying in the suburban hills smoking home grown and other imports in 79 and before that lots of brick mexi and mellow jamacan and leafy homegro. Even then the good ones were few and far between. Indicas can be anything you want them to be with the proper breeding, its all the same species, a sativa can have a indica high too its all where and how its bred and selected.

A lot of parameters we used to see are not so prevalent these days
Smell from the end of the street, glue that shuts your grinder with 3 turns
Taste that make you feel like you're in unicorn valley
Everything became medicore all of a sudden
