Word. totally, SlowNick, i hear you loud and clear mate.
Im pretty sure you can even OWN a fire arm if you have a licenced MJ farm in good ole Oregon, usa...Lame, man, totally lame. Can you believe that sheet man? can even protect yourself and your plants. good gawd we are soooo fucked. Justice must prevail, somehow. I do prefer a slow torturous penalty myself. hee hee

The trip alarms have a spring that once the wire is tripped, the spring hits the firing pin and the 12g blank goes off. BANG! I always thought a good recording to have after would be the sound of a shotgun reloading, =) Or a hillbilly voice saying, I am going to get you kids!

BTW - I never asked my lawyer, but I am 99% sure these are considered fire works, or toys. So no gun charges.

You can also get 12 gauge ammo for these that creates a very loud whistle, not as good as a gunshot though.
Not sure if legal set up on a trip wire but they also have 12 gauge ammo with pepper spray that works in this alarm. Wouldn't use near plants as they would be ruined.

Also ones that shoot a flare into the air. So if you have a 100 acre property, you know when something is triggered from a distance. I would never use that in my area, way too great of a fire risk.

They are the tree rats. They are even ratting you out to the animal kingdom while hunting, lol. Thanks for sharing.

So, might harvest my first plant here in the next day or two......

Looking like Blueberry hash plant or Super Silver hash Plant. I am guessing the hash dad plant is quick.

On what criteria do you pick harvest dates? Trichome colors? Ages?

Some believe you should be at the right moon to harvest...

Yea, I like to harvest by the moon when possible.

I need plants dried and ready to trim in 14 days. That is how I decided......lol.

I am most likely picking the plant that got hit from bugs the hardest, and I overreacted and pulled a fair amount of foliage......So that one goes first.

Harvest depends on the strain and preference IMO. Every strain has a proper harvest window. Most windows are about 2 weeks long. My killer queen harvest window is about 5 days. 5 days early, and is still got clear trichs and white hairs. 5 days later bud rot. (I know what you will say, what was your Ca level at the time of bud rot) Some of my strains in the past, like Ancient Og, can have a 3 week harvest window.

During flower the plants go through three stages, stretch, stack, swell. The last stage is when harvest should happen. During this stage, the flowers will start to develop trichs more rapidly and essential oils. This means one indicator will be how much the plant stinks, and how greasy the appearance. Next is trichs, outdoors, you will have cloudy trichs all year IME. So that isn't the best indicator. However when they start turning amber, be alert.

As for why I am choosing to harvest. If I can have three rounds of harvest over 6 weeks it's much easier to fit everything in my dry areas. If I were to harvest all my plants at once, no way would it all fit. That is why I choose early, mid and late strains.
