Glad that things working for ya, tripping and falling with those things on is what I'm talking about. We actually get up on a ladder when we spray and climbing up and down a ladder many many times per session multiplies that falling factor.

I actually almost went end over on a 6' today putting up more netting if I had an extra 65lbs on my back there's no way I would have caught myself because of as you mentioned the physics of having that extra weight above my center of gravity.

With rec licensing coming online I my county things like OSHA, workmans comp insurance etc become real issues.

we use a 2.2 gal atomizer for the green houses of spraying 5 gallons or less

I am actually still working on the dramm fogger with my pump as well. The back pack sprayer is a bit much in the greenhouse. I can barely walk around without it, as the house is packed now. I have a 20 gallon cone bottom tank I might rig up and use for foliars in line with my on demand pump.

You can rig the atomizer to work off a pickle barrel, you just need to rig it with longer hose to the barrel, pretty simple actually. I think you need to elevate the barrel though, it never worked as well for me when barrel wasn't elevated above whatever height I was holding the atomizer. Also a good mesh filter around the inlet end of hose keeps it from clogging.

The atomizer works by pressurizing the 2.2 gal chamber , I've tried a million ways to do what you say up there and have never got it to work even a little

It worked for me a few years ago, fwiw. Obviously ghetto rigged but I was tired of filling up the darn thing so many times, and wasn't wise on proper spray setups back then..but yea I dunno, thought I'd throw it out there

I've been looking at the Stihl SR420 backpack mister. That looks like the Mercedez-Benz of backpack sprayers. I'm using that Chapin Black&Decker battery powered one for the last few years, works great for a regular sprayer, but takes forever to do big plants or large areas...

Check that against the one I posted. On paper, my sprayer is more powerful, bigger tank, higher fan speed, more adjustable features ext ext.

Stihl is a quality company, and in the past, I have always gotten what I paid for when buying Stihl.

check the price difference also. Stihl = 700$? Mine under 400$

The other model that caught my eye was the Makita. 750$+ https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00J3TT1RM

Anyone ever try the Dramm CF20? http://www.dramm.com/html/main.isx?sub=502

Wish I would have bought that earlier this year... would have saved my back from the stihl and would have used so much less volume of water. Its so late in the year at this point that its not worth the 3k price tag. Takes me 140 gallons and 5-6 hours to spray my whole crop with the stihl... Definitely excessive amounts but rather be thorough than not enough

140 gallons! Holy Snikies. How many full season plants you got?

BTW, that sprayer for the win! If I only lived on a flat property. I could see that cart getting away from me.

How long can a run of tubing be for the north star diaphragm pump + dramm fogger? I think I'd giggle like a little kid if I could just walk around with a hose dipped into a barrel at the center of the garden. Wouldn't mind spraying so much.

True, but like you said, can't beat Stihl quality. I know if I spend that $700 on the Stihl, I'll only buy it once. But who knows, as we all progress along on our farms, we all go through tons of equipment, so sooner than later, I'm sure we'll see which ones survive the trial.

i swear that shit could take a bear down! hahahahh

Yea, we've joked that our autumn security system is just hortitrellis strewn on the ground around the woods near us, with empty beer cans added for the alarm system! Pretty high tech...but no really, we have cameras and dogs....

That's what I do but I use an orchard gun not the dramm fogg it tip. There's about 120' of hose on my rig

What's up on some pics? The post to picture ratio in here is fuct :thank you:

I know right!!!

I have been swamped guys. Setting up new equipment, harvesting, replanting, re-amending, fertilizing, foliar sprays, IPMs. I will take pictures tomorrow, I promise. Will post soon after. Some plants are getting nugs already.

Cat, is that tip your preference? Why do you like it better?

Wish I had more work to do. I want to try doing light dep in spring. What's th earliest you can start without heaters and get any decent yield?
