i think imma have to back out of this challenge. i don't eat yogurt and i keep forgtting to buy some. plus looks like you guys already started and i put the clones i was gonna run in pots absent mindedly. maybe i'll play along unofficially. i'm only here for the challenge of the yogurt cup.

I just can't get my pics to come out right side up using iPhone. I have a black sour bubble I want to enter.

I have the same problem, I had to rotate my picture 90 degrees clockwise, than save it. Than rotate it back counter-clock wise and save it. Than upload it and its right side up. I dont use my phone to upload, but copy to my pc and than upload.

Weekly update

Weekly update

Here's my weekly update.
Two Zamaldelica on the left and center (which already survived a somersault... it has already nicely rooted around the granules and therefore only the top 20% fell out) and one Rosetta Stone x Ciskei on the right.
And then a group shot to show that the 'yogis' are well behind the hemp varieties in their rather crowded 3-5 dl pots. Besides, the possible entry/ies N°4 is/are visible in the bottom right corner.

My swazi usually is ready to harvest in 13 weeks. Will the small cups make them finish faster? Cause by my calculations they should be in flower very soon, I just read the rules again and to be able to make a smoke report on the product I need to substract a week for drying after harvest, so instead of 10 more days of veg I calculated I should put them into flower in 3-4 days.. to be able to do that.
Any input on this "problem"?

Any input on this "problem"?

at first i thought that being in a yogurt cup was making things finish earlier. as i worked the kinks out of my system and the plants started doing better my thinking kind of changed and now i think they were finishing sooner because they were just really stressed out

no real science involved in that, it's just an observation, but the last couple rounds i got the girls to go as long as the breeders said they needed too and the only bad i noticed was a couple strains started throwing nanners at the end.

kinda hard to tell since i have never grown the same plant out in the yogis twice or done a side by side but that's my two cents.

but it could be the drugs too:biggrin: ..... at least i hope thats part of it

Cool, after next update I will put them into flower. They already doubled up since last update, and I just applied 50% of MINIMUM dose of veg ferts. They should be ready to flower in about 5 days, no matter what.

Thanks for the input, 8s&Aces.

I flowered a Zamaldelica for a previous yogi demo.

Took it at 110 days (16 weeks). Same as when I flower it
in 32 ounce containers, under 110W PL-L.

So in my example, a smaller container had little effect on
the flowering time.

May I ask how did that Zamaldelica turned out? Did she smoke the same? Was that yogurt cup under that same 110w? Yield in the yogurt cup? Thanks man. I just plan on running one for this Yogurt cup contest. Would love to compare .

Did the 110w really produce smokable product? My friend has 2x55w PL-L fixture AND 300w LED in his small tent, the Guatemala sativa he grew was by far the weakest smoke I've tried.

Lol funny contest, i got some cuts rooting in yogurth cups, a bit smaller than required, dunno if are ok but i wi let there just for see.
The cuts are 4 for Dr.Grinspoon and 6 from LSD of Barneys Farm and two of Candy Kush from DNA Genetics.
The more funny of all is that is my way to germ seeds and root cuts lmao.

so it's day 24 and i made and installed the overflow rings again

a couple more yogurt cups and some foil tape ...... same old same old

the girls @ 24 days veg without the overflow rings

the girls w/rings installed.

they have a spots on a couple leaves because i started feeding to little to late (i think), but they are turning around pretty quickly.

i think i should have paid better attention to what Dave C is saying here ..... https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=295935 ....... but there is always next round

They look pretty nice to me Eights. You've done a nice job with them. The real fun will be keeping them healthy and fed during flower. Plants in these tiny containers will deplete the media real quick of nutrients, but you can still get some nice plants as long as you feed them often enough.

The plant in my avatar had the biggest bud of any plant Ive ever grown before and I grew it from seed in a dixie cup of all things. I can't wait to see what comes out from all the entries this time around. Keep the pics and updates coming please.

yo ena, sorry i broke some bones, almost fucked the round again, hehe

i run the Zamaldelica #6 cutting 12/12 from start, so Z#6 had no veg time, the jaggen 3 or 4 days veg time.

Hey wildgeist what is your secret to growing such healthy plants?
like whats ur medium, lighting, ect. I bought a big bag of coco brick and my seedlings keep dying.

i use clones, i use coco(it will work with anything else imo) in the cups this time, my light is a 100w cmh a 24 plants, i handwater once per day with much drain, i use plain salts (15-10-15) without any additives as nutrition, i increased the ec (0,4 tap) from around 0,8-1 to 1,7(jaggen) / 1,5(Z#6) right now.

heres the Zamaldelica #6, flowering for 28 days

picture.php

and together with the jaggen(25 days flowering)

picture.php

the acc, still in vegetative, i manually flood it once per day,
its ec is 1,5, the media rockwool, i removed the metal lid and put some black plastic to protect the roots, dont ask me why

That little plant smoked just as good as the bigger ones I flower.

All 3.3 grams of it, lol.

That yogi demo plant was flowered 110W PL-L, 11/13.

Maybe your friend's plant was a poor example of the cultivar,
they can't all be winners.

The thing is with low watts is yield my be low, but with a
good nute program and a decent environment the plant will
show its full potential.

The Zamaldelica pheno I flower is the best pot anyone I know
has ever smoked. Lots of Chems to smoke in my neighborhood, but
the Zamaldelica cuts right through it every time.

Its just not everyone's cup of tea, us old farts love it, the youths,
not so much.

After 3 or 4 months cure the high is clean and long lasting, easy on the lungs too.

Been flowereing the thunk for a few years, she's a good friend.

The Zamaldelica, she's a sassy one, no doubt.

Both examples pictured here flowered in a box with 110W PL-L.
Just recently switched to 6/9, and am getting really good flowers.

In a non climate controlled area, by an old dude who is trying his best with what he's got.

Grow micro, it's fun! Just showing what can be had with just modest
skill and a little patience.

Sorry to side track the yogi cup contest, we now return you to the originally scheduled program.

Carry on, lol.

the nanners at the end is nothing to worry about, its just the plant doing what it's supposed to. A female is just trying to preserve herself for the next season.

Very nice on what you have to work with man, great job. Thanks for the details on the cure report. Like hearing it's easy on the lungs after curing some. As the Malawi was definitely not easy on the lungs lol. I will save my Zamaldicas for picking a keeper and grow them out in bigger pots. Will replace the Zamal with a Pure Africa or GTH #1.

Quick question to others that have done previous Yogurt contest. How long do you usually veg your cups for(seeds and clones)? My first cup is on day 14(seed) and around 5 inches tall. Tight nodes for Skunk #11 since it is mainly Sativa. I see Waldgeist is vegging his Acc out for quite some time. Thanks for the tips and happy growing.
