My best friend from high school has a picture his mother took of him when he was a baby.

She put a little ounce bag of herb in his hand, and a joint in his lips, and took a picture as a joke.

I can only imagine if he had been put into foster care and raised by the state like these poor kids.

Does anyone have any idea about the statistics of child molestation in foster care and CPS?

The only thing being raised by the system is going to give these children is a 90% chance of being total fuck ups their whole lives.

No one was neglected, no one was abused.

Now these children will suffer years of abuse and neglect in the system.

To anyone in this thread, I ask this, is giving a child caffeine better or worse than giving a child marijuana?

TT's impressed me with his logical arguments. You'd make a great lawyer! I agree that kids shouldn't be eating McDonalds OR smoking marijuana. Smoking anything is bad, no matter how old you are, but especially when you're a kid. I don't think the kids should be put in foster care, because he's right, a lot of bad things can happen to them there. IMO these kids should receive the same kinda sentence they would get for giving kids tobacco or alcohol. Weed wouldn't kill these kids, but alcohol might have...

McDonalds may be bad, but it doesn't cause developmental issues in kids unless they eat a HELL OF A LOT of it. Maybe overfeeding your kids should be a crime...they could take bodyfat percentages and then prosecute parents who let their kids get too fat. Makes sense to me!

I'm all for FAIR enforcement of just laws. IMO our current cannabis laws for adults are totally wrong, but anyone endangering the welfare of a child, be it dietary, physically or with a mind-altering substance, should be prosecuted.

^ they're both stupid. Parents that take their obese children to mcdonalds are abusing them in my opinion and I would take them away from their parents unless they stop what they are doing. Obesity isn't just ugly it'll kill you.

about the kids smoking pot, I didn't watch it but again I think the parents are retarded. I would say that is child abuse as well, kids that young cannot make decision that's why we don't charge 5 year olds for crimes. Also we all know that the brain is growing very quickly in young children and even teens and I do believe you can screw the kid up by having him get high when h'e 5.

Penalties for providing minors with tobacco would be appropriate.

Smoking is harmful, and they should be punished for providing smoking materials to minors.

Child Protective Services is totally out of the question though, and I can only hope these children are reunited with their family.

About what part? Yeah dude, you'd have to ingest a shitload of marijuana (more than your stomach can even hold) for it to kill you. Conversely, nicotine is one of the deadliest poisons known to man. If you've ever swallowed tobacco juice from dip, you'd know. I spent two days writhing on the floor after swallowing tobacco juice. I once ate 7 grams of hash. All it did was make me sleep for a very long time No nausea whatsoever. The tobacco juice made me wish I was dead.

Yes, my family gave me sips of beer and wine when I was as young as 8 or 9 at a wedding one time I remember when I was 8 or 9 they gave me a sip of wine, and when they turned away I drank the rest of the cup and got a bit tipsy and everyone laughed.

Not saying you should make it a daily activity, just saying big deal, whatever, don't make a federal case out of it.
