 Heya Jen! Happy holidays, good to see ya.

Christmas update - not much to report on but I'm bored. :pointlaug

The November trainwreck is FINALLY rooting and starting to show new growth. :woohoo:

The Sensi is going good - almost time to get it into flower & hope for a girl.

Three sage sprouts are going good, got them in their final transplant in the big tub/bed:

Two Sweet Tooth #3 also doing good - transplanted into 10" pots:

And finally, Mrs. Toke's Christmas present.

Eight Johnny Blaze beans have cracked and been planted in seedling cups, no sprouts as yet this morning. :chin:

The gifted clones of Dec 17th (placed in post the 12th - in post 5 days) aren't faring too well, no signs of rooting yet and leaves turning to mush (frozen/thawed cells?). They were immediately unwrapped and recut under water, then placed in the bubblecloner with Ph'd water to 6.5, 74 deg F. At 9 days no signs of rooting yet. :badday:

 Highlander - good to see ya - thanks fer the props. Always playin with the camera.

Few more update pics:
The Sage:

The Sensi:

Sweet Tooth:

And the Trainwreck is rooted and taking off with new growth finally. Much thanks to baccas:

The beans are sprouting faster than I can get them in cups. Looks like 10 sweet tooth #3, 4 Sage, and the soaker bins have 10 each with tails and 10 Johnny Blaze with tails - wrapped them all in damp paper towel back in the bins on propogation greenhouse heating pad and dome. Hoping to have 10 sprouts, 10 in veg, and 10 in flower - two moms in hydro, to be chosen yet. Now we start the NO MALES chant......fingers crossed - when they get big enough to sex them.

 Hey baccas - good to see ya bro. I keep missin ya in chat. :pointlaug

Can't wait to get 'em big enough to flower out - thinkin about a Feb harvest! Did I hear "Roadtrip" :woohoo:

Still got yer Sage, and a Swt#3 flowerin! Tiny suckers (no chance of cuts) but happy for the chance to sample the finished thing! All the others gave me good beans, 100% germination rate so far. And I'm confident they'll be potent contributors.

See ya in chat. :woohoo:

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

 First thing to do is start the new year right with a clean grow room, new lights, new DIY EZ cloner, sprouting cab, veg cab, hydro cab and 2 flower cabs. Here's 1Toke's tour of the Smoking Lounge (Party Room) as I meet ya at the door. Front & center is the lab bench

Counterclockwise is the spare (at the moment) flower cab (now sprouting and vegging)

The original flower closet

The smoking area - my stoner lounge

Thanks chucky for the props on the back of the chair

The hydro/veg cab sterilized & standing at the ready, door closed

And upper door open and ready for vegging

The dual hydro tub ready to go and waitin fer moms

The cloner/seedling cabinet

There ya have it - welcome to 1Toke's Tokin Lounge. Notice 7 new Sweet Tooth #3 sprouts transplanted into beer cups and one sage. The clear tub have cracked Johnny Blaze beans in, planted tail down and waitin. 3 Sage veggin, baccas' trainwreck recovering, rooted and reveggin, and the Old Timer beans stash A1 group Rays Sensi veggin and about ready to pre sex. 4 new sprouts poked their heads up in the sprouting bins, ready for transplant to beer cups. The Christmas clones passed - has me totally stumped (normally PH 7 - 75 deg) - changed res and PHed to 6.5 with temps 72-76 and no change. Soaked rockwool, recut and dipped in hormone - panicked when I checked on them and redid the bubble cloner quickly and got them back in. In spite of all my efforts they turned to mush (sort of like taking lettuce out of the freezer, leaves all mushy). I don't understand why the cloner failed me this time, I'm gonna upgrade with a DIY EZ cloner and test on 100 or so cuts before I trust it enough to accept clones again, I've got the manifold parts and nozzles ordered and a short wide and long tub ready for installation. May do a step-by-step on building the EZ cloner.

So, entering the new year with apprehension and hope for a better year. Mr.s Toke and & wish you all a happy holiday and prosperous new year. See ya in chat.

All set for ya chucky! :woohoo:

In response to a propogation question I posted my experience and repeat it here for posterity:
 5 years, lost 2 seedlings from dampoff. 100% germ rate, even with 20 year old beans. (I found if I soak the old beans in the shot glasses placed on the heating mat until they sink works). You've already got the supplies it seems.

I found these 5 tablespoon tupperware containers with lids at the dollar store, 4 for a buck. Any SMALL container with lid will work well - the key is a small enough amount of ProMix (or your favorite) that will maintain a constant temp with no cold spots. You could probably get away with shot glasses but they are a little on the tiny side, cover them with saran wrap (snap lids are convenient because you will want to spritz each one a few times a day).

I use this sprouting greenhouse from Home Depot, $7.95 includes propogation heat pad.

After the seeds sink from the warm dark soak, I open a napkin all the way and tear it in half (use the other half for the next container). I fold the napkin and lay it across the lid, then place the cracked beans from the soak on it and spritz with water (out of habit my water is PHed neutral 7.0).

Fold half over the seeds, then close with the final half.

Place the seed cocoon into the container and give the whole thing a couple spritzes with the mist sprayer

Place the containers in the sprouting greenhouse, spritz before closing the lid, and in a day or two they'll have tails. Fill containers loosely with your potting mix, shake or tap the side to settle and pat the top flat. Poke a hole less than 1/4" in the center of each to accept a seed, tail down, and carefully cover over with potting mix. Spritz the center twice. When all the containers are seeded, spritz the whole tray and close the lid.

Next day spritz your new sprouts, check for new tails, and close it up. When the sprouts pop up and open it's important not to let the container dry out. After a day or two or when they appear strong enough (opening the lid to check them and spritzing before closing toughens them up) roots can be seen through the bottom. Time to transplant to beer cups and move to heated and humid shelf.

When the first set of pointed leaves reach out and search for light and we can see roots out of the bottom of the beer cup they are ready to pot up and usually can be put under a bigger light.

This works for me and the only time I lose any is my stupidity. Hope this helps a little. See ya in chat. :woohoo:

 Ok - time for another update. This one's gonna be a little goofy, hodgepodge of things going on. :pointlaug

I guess the first should be the gifted clones, thanks to the babbas! :respect:

The cloner suffered a fatality during the beginning of the year due to city politics I guess - they flush their softener every year and say it is reported on the website - yeah right. :moon:

Anyway, the surviving clones in the reworked bubble cloner:

After hearing through the grapevine that I was the brunt of comments over these let's just let it lie there and close out their chapter. If they turn out anything decent I may post flower shots of them, but for now I would just as soon forget about them.

Okay, now from the mini-cup clones, thanks to baccas! :respect: :respect:
Here's baccas' trainwreck after a long arduous ordeal it finally recovered, rooted and is taking off - it's two-three times clone size now, took forever to go iinto reveg, but new growth is poppin out every night:

More on baccas' Sweet Tooth #3, Sage, and Johnny Blaze in future updates, they are veggin and waitin fer the wreck to catch up. :pointlaug

To be continued......

To be continued.......

 Okay, on to the Sweet Tooth #3, the two pots in the tub have been topped and veggin a bit then into flower.

Then the Sweet Tooth sprouts from the beans I made. These are Sweet Tooth #3 (female) X Johnny Blaze (male).

To be continued.....

:joint: Almost done! (I said it was hodge-podge!) :pointlaug

The rest of the lot in this run, Sage x Johnny Blaze and Sage x Sweet Tooth #3.

To be continued....

:joint: And down to the last, the Old Timer bean stash Sensi.

Whew. That's it fer now. The closet will flip in about 2 weeks, and the new flower cab of Swt#3 will flip in about 4 weeks, then the veg cab of Swt #3 a week or two after that. Then the cycle starts over again. I've got the hydro tub prepped and ready for Trainwreck cuts as soon as she beefs up a bit. Then it's off to the races and a perpetual harvest cycle of Sweet Tooth #3, Sage, Trainwreck, Sweet Sage, Blueberry Sage and Blueberry Tooth. I've still got to get Johnny Blaze started, the beans haven't poked out yet, I may have to soak another batch and retry, and I've got the Neville's Haze x Johnny Blaze (Neville's Blaze?) beans stored for a future run. :yoinks:

See ya in chat! :woohoo:

 Morning SneakySneaky, good to se ya. The only Sage I've had the good fortune to actually finish and smoke were the original gifted clones and they were tiny, giving us an ounce or so to sample (which , BTW turned out to be the wife's favorite toke to date). As for yeild, I grow more for the experience and pleasure of smoking fine herb, and hoping to yeild a few choice top notch nugs a week perpetually. To me the taste and smoking pleasure is more important than yeild. I'll post a yeild report from this run and smoke report when it's fully cured for those interested. If I yeild a couple ounces a plant off amazing genetics like these I'm a happy camper. :joint:
