 Almost Halloween - another update. The Neville's tree was at 105 days and takin up needed room, so I chopped early.

Colas are airy but fair size, about a dozen two-foot colas. Hung to pre dry for a week and cut in half:

Not expecting much, test nugs have the old buzz qualities but without flushing they taste like suckin on pennies. If I can get past the taste it burns slow and fair, but hard to keep lit and only partial white ash - some ash left is hard black crud - yuk. Hopefully a good cure will improve it overall, but not expecting much lacking that final flush. Emergency stash. :pointlaug

The seeded Neville's tri-foliar mom is doing well, she's still fighting recurring bouts of PM in spite of my constant misting with high-PH water to kill it and hydrogen perroxide (3% and diluted) to disolve the spores, then clean water rinse to remove the white residue from the baking soda. The beans are maturing well.

The gifted clones are starting to pick up finally, have had to flush their pots good a few times after noticing minor leaf burns from the new mix (in a rush and didn't pre soak well before tranplanting). They all had very stressful periods in the dark trunk during the Mini-Cup, and growth slowed as they recover, trichs are still enormous and plentiful and they are frosted up nicely all over the plants. First, the Sage, I'm estimating 49 days (were cut a week before I got them home):

And the Sweet Tooth, about the same @ approx 49 days:

I'll update the Johnny Blaze Project thread link ASAP.

Old Beans found!!!!

Old Beans found!!!!

 Hey hey Sleepy. It's starting to get even busier. :woohoo:

Hi Jen - not expecting too much from the Neville's tree, took her down at 105 days or so (little over half way from finish) - she's curing OK, donated a lot in care packages. :pointlaug Not a real memorable smoke, in fact without a flush I wasn't expecting much but the buzz is still old school. Emergency stash if I can get past the medicine taste. :pointlaug

Hey there sack! good to see ya in one piece.

Howdy 00420 - good to see ya again. Yeah, crazy with time on my hands I guess. :bat:

Okay everyone - got more to add to the grow.
:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

First, was gifted four new clones rooted in soil plugs - a Sensi Star, Blockhead, Cindy 99 and Trainwreck!!! (I think this is the Arcata cut???). The TW arrived with a snapped stem, I staked it up and popped them all into the cloner cab under the 18w Grow spectrum floro and heating pad. I trimmed all the large fan leaves by a third and planted the soil plug rootballs into beer cups filled with ProMix for containers, placed them into the cloner cab with dome. I mist the cab (not directly on the plants) once or twice a day and keeping close eye on them.

The Sensi Star looks like she's gonna meet her maker soon, took her back out of the beer cup and rinsed, then placed her in the bubble cloner to see if she will let me save her - doesn't look good for her right now. :badday:

The Trainwreck took off like gangbusters - she beefed up her stem at the wound with a big knob. New growth looks great, she'll head for the veg cab soon, after I gradually increase ventilation on the cloner cab. :joint:

The Blockhead and Cindy 99 are looking good right now too. :yummy:

The tri-mom has been finishing off her beans and returning to flower, a lot of new buds starting out and filling in. I was gonna chop her when the beans were done but don't have the heart yet, besides she's not taking up room I need or interferring with the grow. Will germ a few of her beans after a few weeks drying to see how viable they are, then grow the best out for a smoke test. :chin:

I'll get some pics up tonight of the new clones, the Sage and Sweet Tooth #3 appear to have stopped flowering as they go into bean production, but new growth is finally starting to show on them as well as on the Johnny Blazes, and I got one Sweet Tooth seed so far. I have Sage beans soaking at the moment, they are from my son-in-law so lineage is questionable until I grow some out and verify them as Sage. Also have a batch of beans my youngest son gave me from his outdoor grow this year, strain unknown and was top-notch smoke with tight, sticky nugs that were well covered in trichs, will include pics as they progress.

Now, time for a little interesting story!!!!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
A friend of mine is working construction in the hurricane recovery areas around Florida and south coast, and came up to visit and to close out his storage shed which he has had since 1995, seems he found a terrific girl down there and is moving down to stay. We packed what he could carry out of his storage shed and he left the rest for me to sort through for my son, who is moving into a new apartment. This friend is still is a pretty big stoner, did a lot of travelling overseas in the Merchant Marines 10-20 years ago. As my son and I picked through things left behind, he told me that they found bags of old school pipes and a huge ol' bag of reefer that he tossed onto his truck when he left. We came across a nice collection of trays and Budweiser memorabelia left behind - and my son brought in 3 film canisters with beans in them! One cannister was labelled "Rays Senci", the other two weren't labelled but the beans are strikingly different in appearance. They've been in storage for at least 10 years, I'll add sidelines to the grow when I attempt to germ some of them! :yoinks:

 Nite Tiger! Good to see ya, yeah that's a fantasy! :woohoo:

Hi guineapig. Dunno if I want any stem porn. :pointlaug
Hey sack - how are ya, good to see ya round. I'm not gonna stop trying to contact him, I'm sure he will call sometime, but being a stoner not sure that will accomplish anything, :pointlaug
Hi MPRO, will let ya know how nice when some of them are grown out in between main harvests. I have to sort them and label and file them so they don't get mixed in with the serious shit! :yoinks:

As for the Neville's in cure, was chopped to make room at about 110 days (not planned harvest, so no flush), dried a week and put in jars for about 3 weeks now. These shots are the curing nugs of a harvested plant. Notice that the trichs are just starting to turn amber - about 5%. Another couple months would have really made it nice, but with the new clones and the new strain finishing time I could have a harvest before she finished! Hopefully the Johnny Blaze cross will yeild something in speeding that time up along with a touch of Blueberry for the taste.

 Had time on my hands and got the found seed stash sorted, now on to documenting the journal for reference later on.

One canister was labeled "Rays Senci", the other two weren't labeled but the beans are strikingly different in appearance. The most interesting contained 20 beautiful tiger striped seeds, appearing to be in excellent condition - time will tell as they advance to the grow list. The rest appear to be in varying stages of development or simply differing strains, I'm in the process of sorting and indexing. Most have a rich marbelized appearance and look to be in fair shape. The first batch are tiger-striped with half dozen white (immature?) and have an aged appearance. The second batch has 7 distinct colors, 4 different appearing types, ranging from classic tiger stripes to cabbage-appearing seeds appearing to be encased with the now hardened pod, and differing shades of marble appearing shells. The last one is the cannister marked “Rays Senci” (stoner spelling?) and contained 6 color ranges with differing characteristics. I marked the film canisters A-B-C, photographed the sorted seed piles and marked the photos of each group with numerical suffixes; Thus cannister A contains groups A01-A02, cannister B contains groups B01-B07, and cannister C contains C01-C06. I'll need to track the individual beans also, so a bean from the second canister could be B04-032. I use Excel for quick & dirty tracking and also checking out growers software that tracks strains and grow parameters called VelVet Cannabis Grower's Software: http://www.velvet.ht.st/

All sorting was done by obvious appearances, ie; color, size, shape, shell type and in some instances a very pronounced aged appearance.

Here’s the overall collection, basic appearances, and individual traits:
