Looking good norchips... ive got a single LR2 going right now, you can see her in my thread if you wanna check it out, i kept it in a 2 liter bottle of soil, so it stayed fairly short, the lr2 i was given is suppose to be a special selection and get really big, mine topped out at 17 inches...

Did you decide to harvest the LR2 at day 58 or 59? Did you already cut it down, PLEASE LET ME KNOW HOW THE SMOKE IS... Ive got one going now that is around that age, and im out of smoke and would love to know how powerful it is at day 60... Cheers! Keep everything looking good

norichips- That third pic of the LR2 looks damn good. Its just a super looking bud shot! That should be in the catalog next to that strain, it just looks like a trippy lotus flower some kinda outer spaceship... you can tell that your soil has a good mix of ferts and amendments, there's no other way to get that kinda gene expression.

Do you have cats btw? I can see little hairs on the buds which are the bane of my existence, and I always blame kitty kitty.

I have played around with my stealth DIY fans in a box setup. I have now moved it into my tent, after a few days of having the filter out and the fan in. It just moves(and therefor cleans) more air without having the duct kinked to go out and around. so far so good, but now I am stuck again with no fresh air circulation. Its a catch 22 situation. Only thing to do is roast some Lemon Skunk OD from this summer, some bubble hash I made from a friends haze trim and forgetaboutit.

Perhaps I'll try hooking up the 170 cfm inline fan and building a muffler box with that egg crate foam so I can have fresh AND clean air.

there is 30mins to go before lights on and i still haven't decided wether to chop today or tomorrow.... its not a big deal but i'm freaking out!!!! omg omg omg its like i'm gona go on a date and have nothing to wear.... lol gotta love being a woman.

ok, so i decided to wait till tomorrow, give her 1 more day of sunshine then CHOP CHOP, i basically decided cos i haven't got a drying space completely set up yet and i will do that properly tonight so hopefully it will mean no mold although i doubt it will be an issue cos its so crazy dry here atm, less than 20% humidity

i have 1 question regarding the chop, i know i am supposed to cut before lights come on, but i was wondering is it a big deal if you have some light shine onto the plant whilst chopping?? or do you have to do it ultra ninja style in the darkness? probably a stupid question but i figure it can't hurt to ask!

20/4 - hey i have been keeping an eye on you grow for awhile so i've seen your LR2 , she just looks so big to me i will be thrilled if my next LR's turn out anything like that (2 more beans), its definitly given me a lot of inspiration! I will definitly let you know how it smokes and also the taste; the plants have changed their smell from pure stanky skunk to now (first noticed a day after using molassas, duno if its the age or molassas) a more sweeter/fruiter tinge, all mixed with skunk

I am planning on air drying till stems snap (hanging in a shoe box) then just smoking it all since there won't be much to cure so hopefully ill get a report up in a week or so.

skullznroses - thanks for popping in again and for the awesome props! haha its not a cat but a furry little dog called zapp (named after the best space captain ever)... i have a filter on the intake which keeps his fur out but i guess everytime i open the door to check the ladies a whole bunch get sucked in then blown right down onto the colas (circ fan is right above plants), i really need to put some pantyhose or something over the fan to catch all the fluff ideas anyone? i've tried vaccuming relentlessly and yes i've already shaved the little bastard...


ok now for some updates, this will be the last pic of miss #1 cos tomorrow when i get home from work, she is going down Shes still teeny weeny, has gotten gradually denser with more frost as time has gone by, but seems to have slowed to a crawl. My completely uneducated guess at a yeild? 2g's dry?



#2, top cola still skinny and lame (boohoo) but rest looks good, bottom is really fattening up. it seems the top has stretched a bit more and shes now standing at about 15cms tall. Plant is nice and frosty all over and smells skunky and sweet.

#3, top cola seems nice and dense now bottom ones are fattening up nicely as well! the least tric's by far but most nugs, cmon girl i know you can frost up some more! Smell is skunky and REALLY sweet and a little fruity all mixed up, heavenly.



WR1 @ day 44 - A whole lot of new growth and stretch, there will be a lot of budsites once she flowers and the LST is giving the lower stuff a lot more light, also starting to generate her first hempy smells : also... i think i see a pube?! is this a PUBE??? i duno if my eyes are lying to me but oh please please please please pleeeeeeeeeeease let this mean that shes auto'ed!



WR2 - Like a mini me of #1 is now starting to bush out too. Got a little heat burn like all the others while it was hot but didn't seem to care

My Harvest style-

chop off fans leaves before cutting down plant. often easier to do this by hand

Cut off branches one at a time and trim, saving the trim for bubble hash (look up Gumby method on youtube if you don't have bags...Ive tried Gumby method and it works great if youtake your time)

hang buds upside down where no animal hair gets on them.

As far as when during day to harvest... or during a light cycle... its witchcraft territory. Everybody has some "secret" (such as leave them in the dark for 48 hrs etc etc). Just do it when you have the time to do it right is my rule.

Have mason jars ready once it is dry,,, you will want glass jars to "cure" it in. Even if you aren't going to seal the jars and forget about it for 3 months to do a real cure, it just gets better with age if you keep it in a jar!!!

YEah,, Im waiting to hear the best trick about animal hair too!!

So trim the leaves off then chop, ok i will do that! i will hang up a cardboard box inside the grow to dry in so the smell is contained. I plan on covering vents with pantyhose to hopefully keep hairs out! unfortunately there is only gona be 1 cola on her, fortunately it should be fairly quick and easy for me to get her trimmed i dont think i will bother with curing #1 purely cos of size, but i'm hoping to cure the other 2 in glass

i'm planning on drying and curing the trim from the LR's and making some tincture with barcardi 151. I hate the taste of dark spirits so i'm going to try filtering the barcardi in charcoal then steeping the trim in there for a month or 2. i wana make it strong so i can put it in a sprayer and dose under the tongue. i hope it works out! if not i will evap off the alcohol and start again with another method.

i would LOVE to try ice extraction but will prob save up a few oz of trim in the next few rounds and do a giant mixed batch later on down the line when i actually have a few oz trim

I'm sure you know this but if not remember you can freeze your trim when it's fresh for use at a later date,

We saved trim inlcluding pop corn buds for a year and made some deadly butter

I like the tincture idea though

ahh so no need to try and cure trim? just straight into freezer fresh is better? i didn't know that, was planning on drying them properly etc but now i will just stick em straight into the freezer thanks!!

Hmm we had wicked results using fresh trim...frozen.. then straight to hot pan with butter in.

Although I've read some peoples methods for making qwiso, and cold water hash.. and they did cure.. then freeze the trim...

Maybe someone more cleverer than me knows best? I know it worked very well my way but i wouldn't want to ill-advise you

hey everyone

after a long hard days work i came home and chopped LR2 #1 down 30mins before lights on. Here is a pic of her

I was going to trim the fans off with her still unchopped but then i realised since 1 & 2 are in the same pot, it was kinda impossible to get good cutting angles on 1 side, so i just chopped at the stem so i could get access. The entire plant wet was a miniscule 12g



Took me about 30mins total to trim and hang her up, there was 1 main bud with 2 super dooper tiny buds that were less than .2g each The wet weight of the main bud is 5.6g which also includes the middle stem, so i think my original estimate of 2g's dry is gona be wayyy off, will prob be more like 1 if im lucky! haha well at least i'm pretty sure i will do better next run!




And the small amount of trim


The smell whilst trimming was completely insane, i had 2 ozone units running in the laundry and i was still being overpowered was really stressed out the entire apartment building would smell it! hard to believe such a tiny plant can make so much stink! i kinda figured since she was so tiny i wouldn't have to worry so much, WRONG!

Got a tiny bit of scissor hash which i'm gona pop into a bong along with the 2 mini buds and test after dinner when they have had a little time to dry, the smell is skunky sweet, reminds me of grape gum? weird cos i have not noticed that smell at all except for now.

hopefully ill still get a nice buzz since i've had nothing but the worst of the worst schwag to smoke, looking forward to something that doesnt taste like ass

I do see a pistil coming out of the WR, BUT that doesnt mean its auto... full season plants do show preflowers sometimes before flipping the light... I keep it on the current light cycle and see if it starts to flower more intensely...

Next time will ALWAYS be better, keep that in mind... get your self some "fluffy" soil, i feel soil that is very compact hinders autoflowering plants roots and stunts them... Add 30-40% perlite to your mix... Lemme know how the smoke is once its completely dry! Wet weed is no good!

yes thank you 20/4, i will keep the WR's on currently light setting till the LR's are done, i haven't noticed any new female looking growth and the one in the pic looks pretty much exactly the same as it did when the pic was taken, so its not looking too promising!

and yes the next try will def be better! i've been working on my soil mix and it was indeed way too compact, it didn't drain well and would stay wet much too long. ive since added a lot more perlite as well as sand to that mix and thats the soil the WR and AK's are in; drains a lot better and allows me to water more often, i also see there is a lot of baby worms living in there, slowly getting bigger along with the plants they even survived the 3 days of 35degree's in the cab, i was kinda worried they'd bake.

thanks infinity i will post the weight for ya in 3 days no problems! shes hanging in her own little box inside the growcab right now, cant wait for her to dry! i have a tiny bit of popcorn bud that is drying with the trim too so i will give them a test when they are dry. i thought since they were so small they would dry in a few hours but i was wrong, ill check again tomorrow hehe

#1 was the smallest one so at least i know the next harvest will be a more substantial i have no experience at this so using #1 as size comparison im going to say, 10~12g wet. i hope i get close this time!

It's good to hear ,that this one was the smallest!

Btw, when i need fast drying, I fold paper twice and place bud inside(lol, dunno if you can underdstand xD ). Then place it on the computer monitor( I have old CRT ). It's not too hot and smaller bud will dry in like 6 hours. When i need even faster smoke, i use white paper over the candle, about 2-4 cm away from the flame. You must keep paper moving all the time, to not to burn the paper. I usually do little circles. This method takes around 15 minutes But those are fast ways, not best. It's when you need smoke this same day, but you only have fresh wet buds

I swear I don't sin.... but if you put the bud in a microwave on high for a minute at a time on the lowest ( 1 0r 2 out of 10) setting and turn it over and move it to a new spot on the plate and keep going one or two minutes at a time you can do a decent job drying a bud in about 5-6 minutes. It tastes a little "green" even though it'll get bone dry, but the smoke is at least %75 as good as w a good cure. Like I said, I would never get so impatient, but I heard from a close close friend this works great if you want to smoke DRY bud fast. hehehe


Ive been making CWH (we call it bubble) for a few months. Done it 4-5 times now. Done it dry or fresh... the key is to freeze it before you do the hash making. All you need is ice and 5 gal bucket to do the Gumby method, and the hash is better then your dealers.

Yes,,, I totally agree to hold on to your trim until you have a few ounces. A handful just isn't enough. You can get 10-15% per weight with the Gumby method if you are careful, less weight but higher quality with the bubble bags... the real MELT is super strong.

Microwave sucks. I've tryed that, not good. Candle works better, takes about twice that time, but much better smoke.
