Told you guys I was going vertical! Seems to be working really well so far. 150 hps vertical in the middle of 4 autos wih two 42w daylight cfls above for some light from the top. 2 Buddah Seeds White Dwarfs, 1 Short Stuff Seeds Blue Himalaya Diesel, and 1 Dinafem Haze Auto. This is my last run of autos for now. Next runs will be some fantastic regular strains I have 13 different kinds to run and they all seem promising I cant wait to get these out of the cab and new strains in!

Hey, guys, quick question: what is the most effective method for determining harvest time without having to buy a jewelers loop? I've read a bit and have a general idea, but I'm still not sure.

The reason I ask is because the Ice has started formin red hairs while the other girl still has all white. All the guides I've read say that the pistals should be mostly red, but not brown, at harvest. If this is true then the Ice looks like she's about finished. That's cool with me, but it is wicked early if I go by the recommended flower time. It's been a bit over 4 weeks and Ice is supposed to run 8-10 weeks.

4 weeks is way early to be ripe n ready. What % of pistils have changed? It's normal for a few % of pistils to start turning after 4-5 weeks on a 8-10 week strain.

If ya don't have a loupe / scope .. in general 70-80% pistils have changed color, false seedpods will swell and buds get thick n resiny and are dense if lightly touched between 2 fingers.

I think they have at least four more weeks until they'll be ready to come down. Buds are pretty big, but I figure they will swell and fill out allot more. Honestly man, checking runoff is something I've never done. I don't have a pen, just some spa strips I use to test new water sources. I'll give it a try, see what it says.

I think my water is too hard and I didn't feed em for a bit too long when I switched to 12/12. I'm watering and feeding with distiller water ~6.8 pH, but for a while I didn't have the option and had to use tap. It gave me problems early on with calcium, which I eventually figured out. So, I think I've got lockouts and deficiencies, and no idea what is which haha. The compost was in no way scientific, so I really am just trying to get the hang of listening to my plants.

I'm feeding with Neptune's Harvest Fish & Seaweed mix, and for the most part all I gave in veg was some kelp meal.

But yeah, they look big in pictures, but my crappy iPhone camera can't show you in detail how much they still need to dense up.

Hello., blwd67. At this point, I'd be reluctant to recommend a solution. We all have so many variables, even the bottom line could be subjective. Best wishes with the harvest.

Very nice slow stone. Congrats! Nice scrog. Is that three plants in one pot? I've read not to do that as the roots would "choke" each other off. Logical there, but obviously that's not always true if indeed that is 3 in 1.

qdavid, yeah 3 plants in one pot, maybe not so good, but i prefer calling my pot a soil bed, and 3 plants for a 35l (almost 9 gal) "soil bed" isnt overkill, or am i wrong? One more thing, i planted them just before flowering and they were vegging in 2l pots. I don't see any crucial mistake or abuse here.

I agree. I've got my two little plants in one container, but it is far larger than the two they vegged in put together. Lots of people grow in a soil bed type setup, I'm not sure what they do differently.

Hi guys, just wanted to stop in and introduce myself. I've been reading this thread for the last couple of weeks and I can't believe the amount of information it contains. I'm putting together a 150w HPS cab and hope to join this club. Maybe in the future I'll be able to impart as much wisdom to newer growers as you have.

For now, I'm in the design stage. One of the bigger challenges I'm facing is regarding colder ambient temperatures and their affect on a small grow space. My specific question about that is here: http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?p=3918896#post3918896
and that post in turn has a link to my proposed design (I didn't want to keep asking the same question everywhere but I wanted to make sure you guys had a crack at it).

Anyway, thanks for all the help you've given me, at least while I've been lurking. The time has come for some direct questions though, and you guys always seem willing to help anyone giving it an honest try.

YESSSS! I love your scrog BC! It looks pretty cool how each but has a foxtail coming up off the tip. They do indeed look like they are gettin fat. I cant wait to see pics of it all chopped and trimmed!

1 week of 12/12 for 8 StrawberryDiesel x SugarKaneKush clones and you can see the stretch/growth if you look at my last post a week ago.

And here's 1 LemonSkunk x StrawBerryDiesel and 4 StawberryDiesel x SugarKaneKush clones getting nicer n nicer and closer to harvest.

And here's some outdoor StrawBerryDiesel x StrawberryCheesil buds from broken outdoor branches due to rain n wind. Nice stash before outdoor harvest.
