bule, I have done 3 grows this way and it has only worked for the better...by the first week of flowering its time for me to transplant and I notice the leaves are a lush green, healthier root system along with stronger stem and branches.... I do/have seen an improvement in weight when it comes to harvest.
MOST OF ALL I have not seen any he-she's,tricks(males) nor does it stress them. It may be more stress when you flip from veg to flower or even the sudden light temp increase...just maybe
sometime they might show sex in that first week of flower instead of 2 to 3
I caught sugs 36 dark hour rule a few pages back and hope to incorporate it at the end of my veg.

I have 9 tips that have kept my plants from getting sick. First and formost you must reconize the signs of your plants health from tips to roots. I just wanted to add my 2 cents worth and keep a few growers from gettin stressed out

WILTING- too hot, too dry, or too much water.
PLANT GROWING SLOWLY- too much water, too cold, not enough fertilizer.
BROWN LEAF MARGINS- air too hot and dry, too much water, too much fertilizer.
SPOTS ON LEAVES- spider mites or other insects, too much fertilizer.
PALE SPINDLY GROWTH- not enough light, not enough fertilizer, too hot, too much water or high humidity.
YELLOW LEAVES THAT FALL- not enough humidity, too much water, air too cold, not enough fertilizer, also a problem with rootbound plants.
YELLOW LEAVES THAT STAY ON- ph problem, water too hard(well water), plant becoming rootbound.
ROTTING PLANTS- mold or fungus, too much water, too much humidity.
SUDDEN DROPPING OF LEAVES OR BUDS- too much water, air too dry, air too cold, transplant shock( not enough water or temperature extremes).

HAPPY GROWING

Hey PD,

glad to hear you made it through the surgery well and are on the road to mending - enjoy the percs - never had oxycontin but I hear it's good - just glad to hear you back.

blue - check ur pms. yeah I here you on keeping the plants small before the flip. The trainwreck I just grew from seed 15 days under cool blue floros' then after 2 days veg under the 150 I flipped - total 17 days from seed - untopped - still the plant overgrew the screen - a lotta extra bondage in week 3 of flower was required but I got her under control and the end result was a big bushy plant that yielded well.

trichromeking - good list. it's funny how many of those things are the result of "too much" grower intervention as either water or ferts. Most of my crops seem to end up with tip burn which

pd - get better soon ...nice prescriptions...

suga- those nugz look great. I have yet to see a perfect looking plant at the end of harvest...
durban- the bonsai moms was very helpful and I willtry it on thesesour deisel beans as soon as a mother appears.

tk - Glad it helped man! Keep us posted with the diesel pics. This shot of it makes me drool... like... I will need to replace the keyboard drool. Amazing.. Sunsimulator's ESCD

That's probably the strain I want most at the moment. My goal is to end up with 3-4 mothers including:

Durban Poison (Hopefully I'll get that purple Pheno again)
ESCD (If I can ever find it.. :badday: )
Blueberry (Maybe not if I get the Purple Durban - I just want one with color)
Any Kush - Purple,OG,Hindu,MK

That would be my ultimate personal lineup.

Hey, Dudes and Dudettes,

Greetings from the beautiful " ******** Institute for Rehabilitative Sciences". It ain't so bad here. No smoke, but the legal drugs really rock. Lots of Oxycontin, Percoset, and Neuradin (sp?). It deals with the pain, but keeps my mind slightly fogged. The computer is in the open lounge area, and they tell us that communications are monitored. I think they feel we'll all be on porn sites before our bodies can handle it. If things go well, I'll be out of here in just a few days and back home. My wife tells me not to rush it as she's sleeping better now than she has in over 30 years.

God you guys & gals have been busy. Lots of posts to catch up on. It will take me a while as we only get about 10-15 minutes of on-line time each day, and my mind constantly wanders. I'd love to send you a pic of a new grow, but this is the best I can do for now.

Take care and and I'll be back full-time as soon as possible.

nice man, percacet rocks! haha they gave it to me when i broke my ankle 2 months ago, then darvocet. stuff makes you feel niiiice. but smoking does help with stress and weak stomach due to the pills.... i couldnt go more than one day without smoking or else i would be stuck in the toilet all day.

wish you a full and quick recovery!!

hey durban those nugs in the link sure are mouth watering. I only smoked the ecsd once and it was pretty damn good, a grower friend of mine traded some of his bud with another grower for it. I pushed my friend to ask for the cut, but the guy who had it wouldn't give it up to my friend :( and I don't think my friend really tried cause it's not a real good commercial strain (flower period is too long) as compared to the superskunk he was working with. So I never got the strain. Now I wonder how easy it is to get the real deal as I'm sure there's tons of mom's derived from seeds (res, reef, and soma all have versions) around, with the cuts of which are being passed as ecsd.

anyways... lots of other strains out there with less of a name that are still damn good weed.

now at over 6 weeks of flower i need to start thinking about trichomes, right ? i have a 20X magnifiier which gives me a pretty good look if i hold it steady. will that be powerful enough to tell me the colour ? (right now, they all look clear). does it matter where on the plant i check, i.e. high or low ?

green, yea it's always good to check them often so you know how the strain progresses. you don't have to do an exact count on the crystal color, you just need an estimate so 20x should be enough.

i usually take a leaf tip sample from various spots so i can come up with an average. just the top is fine, you can always leave the lower nugs on if they need to go longer.

Hi guys, just discovered this forum and i love how active it is. tonnes of posts everyday! keep up the good work guys!

Anyhow, I'm a newb to growing and currently growing in a nightstand. Currently running a 150W HPS security light from Rona with no capacitor. I did some reading and realized that a cap would make my light more effiicient. I searched the forum and googled what value the cap should be and came up with 14 mfd (millifarad), 300vac. Is that correct? Where can I get such a cap? Like if I was to walk into a shop, how would I ask for it? And it goes inbetween the lamp and the ballast?

Thanks in advance. Look forward to doing a lot of reading on here!
