Pipedream

Proudly Growing My Own Since 1969

Quazi, correct me if I'm wrong.....

The piece in your hand with the ballast, if you were to turn that over I'd see the bulb socket attached directly to it?

And what type of base was supplied to cover the bottom of the ballast container area? A flat plate? Was it just open? Or something else. That's what I'd really like to see.

THANKS !!!!! And, Happy Halloween (to the rest of the crew also)

It's been a while since I remoted my 150 Pipedream, but I believe you are correct in that if you flip the balast over in Quazi's first pick, you'd see the socket. You can remove most of the housing that surrounds the socket (in the second pic). The bottom balast cover is in the background of his first pic. It's a shallow dish w/a threaded hole in the center for a conduit or wire clamp.
P.S. Thanks for visiting my wine thread.

What was said above is pretty much right on.

Turn over the piece in my hand and you'd have the socket and wiring. There a "cap" that fits over the ballast/wiring housing with a rubber gasket to keep moisture out. It is about an inch and a half deep or so if I remember correctly. It's just got a hole in the middle where the wiring comes out.

Happy Halloween!

I promise to post pictures!

It is the strain in my Sig! Tropical Rainbow.

I named this strain Tropical Rainbow because like a rainbow has many distinct colors, this strain has many distinct strains...Five to be exact.
Tropical, because the Nuclear Cloud half of her is Hawaiian, and is being grown in Hawaiian climate.

The strain finishes in 60 days, but I have been pulling them at day 48-53ish.

So for the first ime I am harvesting this strain at day 60, tonight!

From day 49 to day 60, just 10 days total, the difference is HUGE.
The buds filled out to a whole new level I have never seen before.
Starting day 49, I blasted the Air Condition on high, 60F, and have not turned it off since!!! Everynight my bedroom has ben getting freezing cold...But the cool thing is, equatorial strains, which Tropical Rainbow is a half-breed of, purple up with cooler temperatures!
So I had to see it for myself....Will she purple up at all???
Well, she is not totally purple like my Nuclear Cloud gets with low temps...But she has a beautiful Teal/Purple tint, and it is the frostiest, dankest, sweetest, most beautiful buds I have ever grown!!!!!

Yo Bulé! You really should start your own thread (if you haven't). Your buds look great! You've got a sick setup and you grow some amazing strains very well.

I've got a Purple Kush going right now. The most purple I've seen is from the petioles. Going to be doing the same as you and try to give her some cooler temperatures towards the end to see if I can get some color from her.

150W HPS & ICMag for the win.

So this is definately not the pretiest plant I ever grown, nor does it look all that special. I don't expect you guys to be impressed with this plant. However, the buds are the most potent, dank, sweet flowers I ever grew!!!...Right on Par with SugabearII's OB1 strain (Burmese Pure X Oregon 90).
Actually I was wrong. Today makes day 60 exactly, not day 62.
So here are some basic pictures, nothing special this time...Unless you're smoking it!

Just like the Nuclear Cloud Strain, the buds get so heavy, especially the cola's tips toward the end of its flower cycle, that the plant's branches need to be supported 100% with strings. The plant eventually becomes to heavy to properly support its own weight! :biglaugh: So as soon as I cut the strings holding the branches and thier large colas, the plant just flops to the floor:

...Man I can't wait to see this baby bloom in my up-coming 1200w, dual-600HPS cabinets...Even when I step up to the big leagues, I will still flower with my 150HPS cabinets, for they will grow my completly-personal stash, consisting of strains that are not suited to commercial growing (I.e. strains that flower in 90+ days, & also experimental, test, and brand new strains)

Here is some of the same strain, harvested 5 days ago. So it is pretty much dry and ready to smoke! The crystals sparkle like diamonds!

Thank you Quazi! I really appreciate the very kind words! Perhaps one day I will start my own thread documenting my entire struggle since starting this hobby. There is a lot to share, espeically costly mistakes!
Aloha! :joint:

Bulénath: you're right man, those are some funky looking buds! But I don't doubt their potency and that's what matters.

I'm about to harvest my two plants under the 150, got 12 days left...

I think I want to get another 150 (a total of two) and grow in a 2' x 3' area for my next grow. The rubbermaid was a success, but I want more!

Hey everyone! Haven't posted an update of my cabinet since I started flower so I thought I'd give you all a treat.

18 days in flower

25 days in flower

32 days in flower

Only 32 days in with a 150W in a cabinet and I've got big 11-fingered leaves...

...and big, frosty flowers:

Can't wait to see how this finishes.

Very beautiful Quazi! How long do you suppose they will take?

Now that my perpetual-harvest-plan is finnaly set in motion 100%, my white cabinet, the smaller of the two, is up next for harvest.
Basically, with my 60-day-finishing strain, I will harvest once a month.
The Black Cabinet's plants were completely harvested yesterday, and tomorow the lights go back on with a fresh pair of 3-week-vegged clones.

Here is my White cabinets current flowering plant. She is the former "Tropical Rainbow" mother, so her root system was the furthest advanced of all my plants, before going into flower. Becauase I needed a large array of fresh clones to better my candidates for a replacement mother, I vegged her under my 150 HPS for two additional weeks after she was transplanted into the the flower chamber and larger pot.
Normally, my plants flower immediately after transplant into the flower chamber and larger pot, so they never Veg under a 150.
The two weeks of Veg time under the 150, and a couple feedings of Bloom-formula created many perfect branches to cut. I took about 25 really nice clones about five days ago, then flowered immediately after. So here she is at day five flower, about 6 months old genetically, and about 5 months old from clone:

17-1/2" from floor to glass shield

Oh and by the way, this is my second attempt at scrog, ever. Next time around, I will add about 20% more squares...

I love you're set-ul and that clone looks really nice and healthy. Congrats!
BTW, what weight you expect by that 150w sog?
Good luck!

You mean the 150 scrog?

The SOG techique stands for Sea Of Green, which includes a larrge number of plants in a small area.

The SCROG technique stands for Screen Of Green, which is basically a very small number of plants left to fill out under a large screen..

I plan on getting about 2-1/2 or 3 oz from this scrogg.

However, my black cabinet, which is twice the height and much bigger than my white cabinet, yeilded about 3.5-4oz this latest harvest. Strictly by using LST. That harvest was the one two days ago...

Aloha!
