thanks green_grow. that's a pretty good looking plant you've got, wish I had that much head room. I'm setting up a new cabinet, same height of 36" but increased footprint. I want more space for vegging. I'll post pics when I get cranked up.

Hi Folks,

Happy Holidays!

I'm back after a bit of a trip, and I'm glad to say that my plants survived the neglect.

There are two non-autoflowering Lowryders (sharing the same planter, in front), two White Widows and three Northern Lights, all vegging since mid-September. I just switched them to 12/12 two days ago, and will be transferring them to my new flowering cab in a week or so. They are currently under 114 watts of CFL. In the back you can see my DIY carbon filter and the little air filter I use for air movement.

Cheers,
Bertrand

igrow looks normal to me, both places with the arrows are where fan leaves once were right? hows the humidity? your stems look nice and healthy with no discoloration either, but i still have my novice tags, others maybe more clear. i like those LST shots btw.

Hey Bird yes both places are were fan leaves have fell. The humidity at night is 40% with temps 68 to 70.Thanks for commenting on my pics.I want a good camera like a Cannon or something though to take really good pics.

igdadankest - doesn't look like stem rot to me - stem rot is usually dark in color (brown/blackish) and you'll know right away - the spot would be soft and mushy (i.e. rotten) and smells like mushrooms too... since you mentioned cameras I will make my plug for the low end cannon powershot a460 - all my pictures in my gallery (except for the bad ones) were taken with a cannon powershot a410 - the 3 megapixel older model of the same series - the a460 retails for $119 and it has 5 megapixels. The best feature is that it has a manual supermacro mode with very short focal lengths - much shorter than the next model series up - the 500 series (a560) or the elf series -- you really need to step up to a much more expensive camera (over 250) to get the same super macro capabilities... add a tripod and you'll be good to go for trichome showing macros...
and it takes pretty darned good regular photos as well...

that hash looks fabolous btw...

nissan 420 - welcome aboard I don't think I've seen folks busting out those lamps yet - how do you intend to use that bad boy?

Light Usage

Light Usage

I'm using this as my flower fixture. It puts out a total of 52,000 lumens. I have 12 plants under it right now in a sog.

:rasta:

I cut two stem of becouse I dont want to run into mold it allowed air to get all through the plant. Here is some pics I took of it.

I am trying to dry that tiny bud fast to smoke it I have no idea what I did with the othe one.How long do you think it will take if I have a box fan blowing on it?

don't put a box fan on that tiny suckah :) for being that small and immature it shouldn't take but a couple days to dry that, just hot knife it, plus how far along is that bud it looks incredibly young

If you're trying to quick dry that popcorn bud, I say go with the microwave steam technique. It's never steered me wrong before...

Just here to join in on all the fun. I have a spectra max 516 that has 2 150 watt hps , plus 4 54 watt t-5 flos.

That's an interesting light nissan. I have T5's and love them for veg. I'm doing a test flowering run right now. They have been on 12/12 for 2 weeks now.

The company must believe the T5s have near the same penetration as a 150w because the 150s look to be only a couple inches higher in the light. I have a 150w grow at this time too. I want to do a comparison between different lights. So far exact clones are stretching less under the T5s.

On average how far away do you 150 users keep your light?

I know it is super tiny and immature.I had to cut some bud siyes off for air to get through the plant. It is like 34 days old actually lol.It was shadded by everything and it was in the corner of my grow box so it got little light. Why I bet it got more light moving it around outside of the grow box LMAO.it is about dry now I just let it lay on a warm surface another two hours it should be done.I just dont like wasting things. There are some people out there that dont have Marijuana that need it badly.I would feel kinda shamefull in knowing that just tossing the bud out.

As for the light question mine is about 13 inches away

sugarbear - Your post concerning your camera gave me a warm, fuzzy, feeling. Particularly when I read what you wrote about that Canon a460. I feel so much better about my purchasing shenanigans. Thanks. I might have actually done something right. Like, wow? I wanted to replace my old Fuji 2mg (2 or 3 years old is all, dammit, that techy stuff sure changes fast). I looked around a lot and that manual supermacro feature sold me. Other cheap digitals were rated overall higher but I don't think you can get as close-up with anything anywhere near the a460's lower price. I'm kinda wondering about using my tripod though. I know you advise using those, but I wonder if you've ever tried freehand macros? I've done some with my old Fuji but nothing as close as that a460 can get. I imagine any camera shake at all would make macros that close blurry. True?

If your taking macros it is best to have a tripod ir atleast have the camera sitting on something.I have a neourlogical problem were I shake like a damn earthquake so I have to use one just to take regular pics sometimes.I may pic up that same camera it is cheap for how good it is.

remove the shroud!

remove the shroud!

if anyone in the group made the ebay choice in a 150w hps system remove the metal shroud thats supposed to be the reflecter, with my small area it was burnng leaves all the time in the hotspot and i couldnt get my bulb very close. with it gone my bulb is 3-4 inches from the canopy and i have some plants with fan leaves easily tripple the size from my previous grow with the shroud on. hope that helps.

http://shop.grasscity.com/shop/grasscity/molpb002.html Help me choose my bong for Hashberry 150 Watt club.As you all know I am growing a Hashberry and itll be harvested on the 26th(24 more days)I want a brand new bong to smoke out of becouse this is the first indoor grow I have gotten this far on and I want to celebrate with a new bong.I dont have much money to spend on it but I have found some nice smaller sized bongs for it that are in the 40$ price range. The first one was my original but there are a few more I like also.

igrowdadankest... first a word of caution... always, always add a week to when you expect it to be done ;)

on the bong question - I personally have found that I prefer bubblers to bongs...

bongs you pull big tubes with and all but they leave me coughing often times - I chalk this up to the smoke getting stale sitting in the tube while you're pulling - also the "clear" action on a traditional bong tends to overload ones lungs.

where as a nice bubbler gives you water filtration with a smoother draw...
check out superpiece - they have decent prices on good glass

http://www.superpiece.com/glassbubblers.html

you might recognize this one - it's the 8" blue sherlock bubbler - probably one of the nicest pieces i've gotten for my $$
