126 Watt LED Test Featuring Ice

Great job Sleepy!

I am almost finished with my second LED grow- a UFO 90, supplemented with some CFL. I used bag seed (albeit excellent seed), and I vegged too long. My girls are 3 ft+ tall- too tall to optimize what LEDs are best at- short plants or SOG

Knowing what I know now, I would not buy any of the light systems currently being offered, and here's why.

Changing LED bulbs is not user friendly. Once the bulbs lose their values, and the blues will do so a lot sooner than the reds, what do you do? Assuming the mfg will replace them, at what cost, and how long a turn around time?

I am running a side-by-side CFL vs LED (well sort of). The CFL side has 950 watt equivalent. As you might expect, the plants are fuller on that side. While I am not unhappy with my LED yield, I know I will do much better now that I understand the strain dynamic.

I paid $370 for my UFO. In both grows I had a transformer blow, but Sunshine Systems replaced them under warrantee.

You can now buy regular screw in 300 watt equivalent CFLs at Lowes for under $15! You can buy a 4 bulb Vanity light for under $20, and 26/43 watt CFL (soft and brights) for less than $8 each. CFLs don't generate so much heat that a closet grower should be concerned. If you can't vent, don't get the 300s.

Hell of a job sleepie!

Ran back in the beginning to see if flowering times were mentioned and I saw that this strain was supposed to finish in 8 weeks 56 days. I know that these went significantly longer, but my stoner ass cant seem to figure out how many days exactly. So kinda just curious as to how long these girls actually did have to go.

Stellar Job Mate once again!!!

By the way, Sleepy, so impressed with yours and others under her lights. I had to break down and order a 126w to try out for my self. Sitting on pins and needles for it to get here.

Peace

I've enjoyed reading this grow from the start with all the twists. It's always nice to see a finished grow. LED panel test just added to the excitement. Thanks for the show Sleepy! Cool looking buds.

Yo Sleepy I'm wondering if you could anwser a couple of questions for me?? Your buds look great.. Not sure what the spectrum of your LED's are and how much in the red they are and can't see in the pic if you got your bud to turn amber? I know if I lack red in my light I have a hard time finishing flowering and need to change my light. peace out Headband707

Hey Sleepy, if you have time to find out the wet weight for us that would be great. If not, no biggy, we'll all have to be impatient till they dry ;)

I had the same question - so I went back and looked. Post #380 says they were connected to the timer on January 12th - so that makes it Jan 12 - Apr 16 -- or 13 1/2 weeks or so.

WOW! Those LEDs definitely produce some NICE greenery - but at a much slower rate.

Good job Sleepy. I have been following since the beginning. Let us know about final weight and potency.

I could eye ball an ounce from outer space without my glasses on. The buds look damn but good but I'm guessing 74-80 grams dry. I mean from the pics the density seems to be lacking but the overall quality is superb, good work sleepy. The plants in the pre-harvest photos look nice and dense but I wish I had size comparison to see scale. The harvested photos with the tape measure being used I could visually see the size to scale and the tops are good but everything else appears airy. I hope your expectations are met, great journal and dedication :headbange
