125 watt LED grow

Doh, my bad, I should have mentioned that grow was under the 355 watt version of the light, not the 125 watter. The 125 watt light is intended as a 400 watt replacement and the 355 watter is intended as a 1K replacement. That grow yielded .8 gpw, 10 ounces total. I don't wanna say what my dream gpw is for the next grow as it might jinx me.

Just so you folks know, the full announcement on the details of these lights, including the technical details is scheduled for the first or second week of September.

Are you going to run it in a separate room then the HPS? Also, are these units going to have something to turn on the dark period for plants (forget which spectrum is required). I understand that running near the hps's would make it so you don't need something like a halogen, but these units would ideally negate all HPS's.

so the plants allowed to get a bit taller were flowered under the 335watt in a 3x4 area if im correct in assuming this :joint:?

was the 125 flowered in an area of 1.5x2ft???

the yeild from the taller plants just stress's the point of scrog or sog.

:jump: :jump: :jump: LED's are the way of the future

i wonder if the led's are more value for money over typical HID's at this present moment in time, initially they are expensive but as time goes on you save more and more until, you start to save money over HID's.

Mr Celcius, the next grow will be LED only. I am going to run the 355 watt fixture on one side and the 125 watter on the other. As a matter of fact I have already removed my cool tube and ducting I used for the 1K and gave away the blower I used to cool the light.

Reaperz, we see things a little differently than you do I think. We saw that yield as an indication that we had to make the light better. And we did. :D:

Power savings, safety and peace of mind makes purchasing LEDs a no brainer in my mind.

Billyba79, thanks for dropping by!

The only high cost with leds is the initial equipment cost. After that its all cost savings.
Virtually zero heat = no exhausts or burned plants. Obviously zero odor exhaust too !!!!
125w of leds = 400w HPS = 275w X 12hrs per day of savings for 12/12
HPS bulbs need to be replaced every 3rd grow or so.
LEDs even at half rating are good for 50000 hours or 11.4 YEARS of 12/12

Well said Hydrorascal, its easy to spot the LED fans in the crowd. :D

Another thing to keep in mind is that certain jurisdictions are monitoring power consumption. I live in B.C. where they monitor power consumption and any property that uses more than 93kwh per day will get a notice hung on their door advising them that in 72 hours there will be an electrical inspector (accompanied by a police officer) coming back to perform an "electrical safety inspection". How much is not having to tear down a grow worth?

It likely won't be long before programs like the one in B.C. start showing up elsewhere as it is getting good results (from a LEO point of view) up here.

Amen to that one. Without even phasing my 1K out but with replacing the rest of my lights with LED I have brought my consumption down from an average of 72 kwh per day to 58. For about 3/4 of the last bill I still had my 1K HPS running so it should be interesting to see how much it comes down now that the HPS is out of the equation. Plus with LED lighting you won't get nabbed by FLIR scanning. Priceless indeed bro!

125watts LED=400watt hps? i hope its in terms of yeild also 125 which would mean it would have to yeild 3gpw+, anyone think its possible, maybe with hydro and...

Ahh and more details come out. Gopher you got me waiting for it. Hell I would get rid of my 600 and run this I will just have to find a buyer for the old equipment. haha keep at it bro.

Sorry to keep you hanging but I have yet to hear from them on pricing. I have a feeling, although I haven't confirmed it yet, that they are going to release pricing details and technical specs at the same time. As soon as I know something I shall pass it on to ya.
