WHAT THE FUCK:hijacked:

happened to gophers thread. LOL

I thought there were "threads" to post things in regards to LED vs HID efficacy or electric consumption and so on.

It was a nice attempt at finishing up a grow shot that went to chaos mode.

One thing's for sure (and you'll all pardon me for stating the obvious here, but):

the first mofo or mofos that come up with an efficient, effective, and not astronomically priced LED unit for home growing is gonna get very rich, very fast - provided they've got good lawyers on retainer to protect their patent.

KNNA - Good info there. So the luxeons rock the house then? Buy a few strips with lenses , add a box for power and you are set. If you are lazy like me, try www dot nemalux dot com . Philips > chinese leds?

The upshot of it all is pretty simple. If you are using 20ma leds...set them at ~18ma or at 95% of so called normal. Another factor to remember is 50K hours still equals 11.4 YEARS of 12/12. Anyone still using an HPS from over a decade ago???

The beauty of whats being posted is ...we all have the same aim... a reliable, efficient,
inexpensive led grow light..and... several thought paths are being followed.

I noticed that too. I started reading an interesting thread by Gopher and now it's turned into a cluster f**k of useless techno-bable and self promotion. Utter disrespect. Too bad it started off well.

Here are the last 4 and a shot of all of them hanging to dry. Oh yeah, apparently I had a couple of my purples in there as well. I thought it was just Skush and NL . . .

Awesome Thread Gopher. Keep up the good work. :D

Yes Gopher, great work. I'm very impressed with the results you get from using LEDs! I bet it saves alot of money on electricity. I never would have imagined growing with LEDs, but it makes sense with the array of different colors. I'm just now getting into using HPS, so it will be a while before I try out an LED array.
Keep up the good work.
Oh yeah, a little off topic, but I seen a few months ago that some city in NC, I'm thinking maybe Raleigh, was going to convert to an all LED city. The article said they were wanting to set a precedent by changing all their street lights and signs to LED, which would save alot of money in the long run. Sounds good to me.

Hopefully Gopher has not been completely turned off by the IC Mag community. On another site, he has stated some things about what happened to this thread... its to bad too, cause he was the first person I've seen to grow nice plants under LED's.

On another note, I believe the administration should have some sort of sub-forum for all this "techno babble". Its obvious there is a small community of intelligent innovators that need some sort of collaboration.

every led thread i have seen eventually gets hijacked by the tech crowd. but gopher really grew some nice looking ladies with his leds.

Do you mean per plant or total?

12 plants
His 125w led yield was 5.75 oz 1.32 grams per watt

30 plants
His 1k hps yield was .68 grams per watt around 1.5 lb

Read the thread.

no i meant what the end yeild would have been if he had flowered using the 125watt led from the start of flowering rather then the light that leaked over from the hps.

i've read the thread in fact quite a few times lol and enjoyed it immensely

i wonder if he's going to do what he intened to do and use the 355watt led array to flower, would love to see what he yeilds from that ,at least 461grams giving me the shivers just thinking about it.

also wonder what the array looks like :jump: .i would love to see a pc led grow, i think led's are perfect for pc micro grows.

when prices drop, i look foward to seeing more led's grows, seem to dominate vegging from what i see, more growth from less then a quarter of the energy

Sorry for the mis-understanding. It is exciting though...

By the way Gopher has posted a link else where to sign-up to have pricing and delivery info sent when it is available. He says it will be better than trying to keeping track PM's. There are security assurances on the page.

Hey it looks like I have my thread back now. :D

The next grow is likely a month off right now, we are waiting on a few things at the moment so I am popping a bunch of fresh beans to include next time as I want to have a good mix. It will be more of a SOG style with 36 plants in 2 gallon bags on a 3' x 4' table.

As for whether you could grow sativas, or tall plants for that matter, here is a few shots of the grow before this one where I ran 12 plants in 3 gallon pots and let em get a little taller. On this grow we were still fighting through some of the technical difficulties that plagued us in the early years (yes we have been doing this for years - we are not the new kids on the block). The current version of the light is miles ahead, in terms of performance, of the one used in this grow.

125watts over 3x4ft intresting hopefully we can see the full potensial or close to it, when given light from the start. 1.3gpw last time, how about this time we make it 1.7gpw(hoping for 2gpw :jump: )

how much did you yeild from the plants that you left to grow a bit taller?

btw just loving this thread :headbange
