125 watt LED grow

For me the money you save on the LED is absolutely secondary, as power use for hps lights is already very small compared to the value of the product.
Security aspects related to power usage are much more important imho, and the ability to use less ventilation - perhaps only just enough to control humidity - is also a very big plus. The wattage required for temperature control is a large factor - especially for people using AC.

Also if the plants can be placed very close to the light it might be possible to run SOG in double-decker setups - a very big plus for people with space limitations.

If the performance of this LED system is really genuine and can be verified by one or more reputed growers then I'll definitely be considering buying it, unless the price is going to be outrageous. I'm sorry for sounding a little skeptical - I'm not trying to troll here because I'm just as excited as everyone else about this.

hey is there any info on pricing and availability for the 125 array?

why would it not work? 640nm is the wave length. Does the system gopher is using have some magical properties that all the other led's on the planet do not? Oh I know, maybe these 125 watt leds, which no one has seen, defy the rules of physics because they are reversed engineered from the spaceship crash at Roswell. I believe if you run 2:1 red to blue u will be successful with leds.

Gotta love IC, everyone's a photonics engineer.
even me :bashhead:

if you shape the array in a s shape you'll increase you yeild by at least 20% :spank:

im leaving all the technical talk to the professionals who know what there talking about as i have not the first clue when it comes to led's except maybe you need 2:1 ratio of red to blue

No, i am not an photonic engineer, but I did pay attention in the 3rd grade to Newtonian physics. I do not believe quantum mechanics apply in the case of LED lighting, so, ipso facto every LED on the planet(except the extra terristrial reverse engineered LED's) willact according to this formula:photosynthetic active radiation = ( ìmol/m2 /s - photons of light). U do not need be a photonic engineer to understand this do u?

You learned physics in the third grade? lol. You must be one gifted son-of-a

That comment was aimed at half of this thread, not you, Relax  .

So again... whats up with the pricing... You brought the inquisition upon yourself by showing and telling us.

Its like saying, "ya man, I got this weed growing, don't know when its ready, but you'll get some when it is." Dudes gonna hound ya

Blue is only 20% as efficient as Red for the plant in photosynthesis. I read that in a paper somewhere.

Nah i dont care, maybe in some years when LED is truly something to talk about ill change my setup but for now, ill stick to my 600's hps
