very nice little 12/12 plants but if youvegged just 2-3 wks your yield would be increased 2 fold prolly. i like LST for stretchy plants tie em down and let them grow

i'm glad to see others using this method, those who fully understand it know that it yields better than methods requiring a pre-veg period.

Maj.PotHead With 3/4 of this small plants i would yield probably more in total and in the same space than one big lst plant; and cola quality by the way wich i think is a much much better smoke than popcorn side branches bud anyway.

i seem to be a little confused... no hate just saying! with a single 400watter and a high yeilding strain such as NLX id be pissed if i didnt pull a qp to a hp. Thats with all the hard work of taking a couple clones tho... and not having males... and havign seedless buds.. and 12/12 from clone has been proven just a couple times before. sry im an ass! I guess this is a legit plan if you only want 1 plant as fast as possible, and want to flower males for pollen, or have money to spend on more seeds...

12/12 from clone is nice too; you can pack a lot of females in short spaces, but the drawbacks are that you will need 3 growroms, one to take care of a mother plant, one for the rooting clones and a flower room. So we are talking of spending more money here. Remember that a plant grown from seed has more quality than clones from older plants.

MTF-Sandman, my current "alter ego" grow was 12 seeds on 0,7 liters pots, resulting in 7 females and 5 males (all show sex at the 3 week of life). 2 of these 7 females didnt look so vigourous so i puted on separeted pots and the other 5 healthy looking females were planted on a big 60 liters container. Will post pics in the final.
Only used 12/12 from seed for my last 3 grows, all individual plants ranged between 30/45 g total (only one bitch failed on me with only 20g!).

Might wanna try a SOG of a keeper pheno or a clone only...you'll be much more impressed with the results Lots of strains will be ready to cut in under 7 weeks of flowering from clones as well...all those extra 21 days waiting for a plant to start blooming add up over the duration of a year to 2 lost crops.

BTW, moms and clones can be grown in the same area...a very small cab or corner of the grow area that's partitioned off.

The benefits of clones include:

They're dirt cheap (~25¢ vs. several dollars per seed)
Predictable growth
Predictable quality
Predictable sex
Predictable yield
Predictable nute requirements

I'm not saying 12/12 from seed doesn't work...you've obviously showed that it does (BTW, nice looking plants). It's just not the most efficient use of a flowering room IMO.

I did 12/12 from seed my last grow... to save "time". If anything I learned I'll never go 12/12 from seed again. Two weeks of veg under that metal halide makes a big difference. It was fun though. I used freebie seeds I had gotten from various orders.

MTF-Sandman you made good points man, but not all people can have another room for mother plants and the $ for another HID

i´m using Nlx f2 seeds, have a bunch of them so $ with seeds is no problem (i´m not getting so different phenos after all)

For a long time, I used a 4x2.5x8 closet for mine...bottom 3' for moms and clones, top 5' for flower area. Just T8 fluoros for lighting on moms/clones (only 132w at that)...air is sucked up through the shelf to the flower compartment since they don't need much ventilation for veg then it goes into the attic after going the a home made scrubber. I live in a small house, so I feel you're pain about not having the room/money to go crazy with it...but what I lack in money/room I try to make up for in creativity

40 of these adds up real quick to a nice yield :wink:



I'm not doggin ya bro...do what works for ya...especially if you've got a boat load of seeds for little to no cost. Hell if you ever get low on seeds you can just take a male and let it pollinate a female and you'll be stocked up again. Great smoke is great smoke no matter how it's grown.

after reading this thread I wanted to give it a try.so far they've spent 1 week under hps after they have sprouted, it seems like it stunts their growth.I'm thinking 15 days of 18/6 is necessary.it's a hybrid that flowers in 70 days

in my last grow, i put 4 vegged plants in 12/12 and one
start from seed at the same time. she is a dp power plant
and doing good.

one week in 18/6,hereinafter in 12/12....I don't know its weight-have no scales.Seeds - Mixed Sativa(the Sativa Seedbank).From sprouts to cut - 85 days.Lamp - 400W.pots - 1,5 l...happened to often to water....sometimes twice in light day...
..I think 3-5 litres pots for this light period is enough...
..also Full Moon(outdoor sativa) and Widow Scunk beginning to bloom at age of the one month
....ak-48.Age - 70-75 days(don't remember)
on the left without four buds volume of the soil - 1 litre for each.


IMHO:to keep two weeks in 18/6 will not be spare....

If you do this with a mainly indica plant you will lose out on so much as opposed to just 10 days under 18/6,with some sativa's its probably a good idea.I wouldnt consider it with a good indi.

Few months ago..Started 6 seeds at 12/12

Now all are female

Had to throw 3 away cuz of no room...( never had a herm but found my first one..Was lazy in keeping the light away so one side of the plant went hermed)

That makes my ratio up to 97% of getting females

Next time..it's start only 3 seeds..not 6
