12/12 From Seed: A Different Way To Grow

Just starting my first 12/12 from seed and wondering, do you typically do any topping or training when growing this way? Or just let them go, since they won't get that tall anyway?

Hey Hal,
I was wondering if you knew of any successful seed grafts, If not I may have a first. I had a crazy purple urple seed, and a dank purple bag seed out of a QPer. I took the two seeds out of their shell, bisected them and switched half of each, then glued the seed shell back together and planted. One of them grew this(well not exactly this, this is a clone of her:

There are my 50 Satori and "Satori x Lowryder" (made my own).
I want to grow them 12/12 from seed, but i`m affraid from seeds what we made on our own.

So i have question, how long they can grow?
And can i turn 12/12 after 5 or 6 days of 24/0? Will they grow bigger than 20 cm?

really need to know!

I like the idea. Only problem is in order to get any yield you need more seeds or cuttings(which needs anouther room). Niether of which i have. Also more containers ect. If i had the extra goodies i might do this. But seriously for me the LST scrog with a couple plants works better. Great idea 4 sum. Will keep it in mind 4 later.

If nothing else, I imagine that this kind of growing schedule will give the grower a clear idea of how long it takes his particular strain(s) to mature to flowering stage.

I'm starting to grow this way but might change to a week or 2 of veg so I can start taking clones. I still have 3 foot tall plants, and that is a tall as I want them.

I have a few girls 12/12 from seeds and it just takes along time for them to mature and start flowering. I think I will switch to clones and only use this method when needed.

Wow, there are some amazing plants in this thread. I have a couple of questions, has anyone tried to use this method in conjunction with an ebb and flow system or a hydroponic system? Also, when choosing a strain to try to do this with, what do we look for? I would assume a quick flowering plant would do well and preferably not a very branchy plant either. However, it seems that a lot of the pictures show plants with fairly long internodal distances meaning that they aren't stout mountain strains either. I swear this is my last question, for now that is, why wouldn't clones work for this setup? They seem like they would be perfect as long as they were pretty short and had a well developed root system. Anyways, thanks in advance and again, wow some of you have some beautiful plants!

could u tell if c99 is a good 12/12 strain?
i read over here that another would be NL from nirvana, himalayan gold greenhouse...
my space will be 25" tall so...should reach max 20" in the end

@ zeno: This method has been used with hydro before and there's no reason for it not to be used for hydro.

The only bad candidates for this technique are plants that don't stretch much to begin with, ie pure indicas. Deep Chunk, for example, would not be a good candidate.

Flipping to 12/12 as soon as a clone shows roots is an old sativa growers' trick and it helps to limit stretch.

@YK: 12/12 from seed would probably be the ONLY way to grow C99 in your 2' space without some serious training like ScrOG or a SOG setup. I'm not sure about the other strains that you mentioned.

No one has mentioned a nutrient regiment for a 12/12 grow.

datjig, currently I wait till preflower and start feeding them bloom nutes. At the begining i give them root stimulator and the whole time I use humic acid. I noticed my plants are a little light at the begining of flowering so I'm going to look for something with a bit more nitrogen to help with the transition, i'll also start giving them liquid seaweed as soon as I get out to the growshop

How much bud is that? Are the nodes super-dense?
