12/12 From Seed: A Different Way To Grow

I am interested in growers that have done 12/12 from seed with haze strains. I know a lot of breeders recommend doing this because of the long flowering time. It would be good to have a report on them.

I've got a super lemon haze going in 12/12, I'll have to come report back in about 5 more weeks to let you know how it did.:tiphat:

Seedsman White Widow grown under 400W HPS in a 3G smart port with organic soil. It was cut at day 80 but should really have been left for at least another 10 days.

Total dry yield (without the crap popcorn buds) was ~1.5 ounces.

Very nice. I like how the color came out. What about the smell, did the Mendo Purps smell come out also? What was the high like?

I did a similar cross. Mendo Purps x HillBilly HAZE (called and seeds sold as Jed Clampett). I run a bunch of them outdoors this season. Choice cannabis.

Many Blessings,

I understand any growing method has it's uses. I agree with the study that a mature plant will produce a better product during flowering than a seedling that isn't. My question is if this method works better by starting with clones from a mature mother than from seed.

I don't use this method but I am familiar with it and have smoked it. But that final product was substandard at best

This goes the best in large mediums, like minimally 1 cubic meter of soil per grow & with large numbers of seed to start from. like some 3 to 400 seeds at a time per square meter surface.

Most of the work goes into culling out the males and weaker females at week 3,4 or 5. (and if no gender has been shown after week 5 they will get culled either way.)

You'll be creating a canopy of buds this way, while the amount of soil & shared medium will guarantee the strongest plants to outdo the weaker ones & produce most of the bulk.

You will be creating 'main cola's' of only the best plants mostly, and side fluff that anyways only-takes-up-space -but-wheighs-no-shit will become reduced.

So to answer your question Hurdy Gurdy, Yes it does work if you 'd go about it cleverly.

Because of the amount of soil, your plants will become as tall as would shortly prevegged, potted plants be doing.

Clearly there are some WEAK hating trolls around here giving negative rep instead of crontibuting anything useful to this thread.

Have been using this method for a few years..

Have been using this method for a few years..

First of all, to all the posters who say that it does'nt work, maybe it just does'nt work FOR YOU ! so move on to what does.

I'm a light smoker ( 2-4 times a week, only of a nightime ), i love variety and i love never having to buy weed, i usually have between 15 - 20 plants of 3-4 varieties always growing under a 600wt hps and can experience a different stone/high every night if i wanted to, as some dickwits have pointed out "you get less quantity", well of course you do Einstien but when you have a constant turn over how much do you need at any one time, this method is for those that want to enjoy their own home grown personal supply, thats it pure and simple.

As far as being less potent, i'm not so sure about this as i've experienced the full spectrum from laughing my head off on a sativa dominant high to wondering how the heel i'm going to make it to the bedroom from the couchlock of a full bodied Indica stone. A plant will go into flower when it's mature enough to do so, most varieties are a different time length but they all do as nature intended them to do, i grow in soil so can't comment on hydro set ups, i can't see the point of hydro's actually as plants are only in a pot for 3 months and any good potty mix will easily lastr 3 months without any additives, once or twice during the grow i might add some seasol, but thats it.

Even for the breeders amongst us this method is perfect, just whip the males into another room or out the back, because their small you can virtually sit them anywhere in the backyard and they don't get noticed, then you just collect the pollen or take the desired female to them for alittle slap 'n tickle.

I have a good friend who prefers just growing one massive plant inside under lights, but to my way of thinking, this method leaves you with the same smoke for 3-4 months, i prefer variety, and lots of it.

Good luck to all the other greenthumbs who just LOVE growing the green for themselves and to share with friends.

I love this method because it suits ME fine. :gday:

i'm guessing some of you last posters are new to the thread and haven't been reading from the beginning. 12/12 from seeds isn't a method to increase yield, it's just a method of growing plants faster by cutting out the extra veg time. you could get similar results from flipping to 12/12 at 4 weeks from seed. most plants show sex around 4-6 weeks from seed. if you start with clones you just cut out the 4 weeks needed for maturity and only have to deal with flowering times. if you are looking for huge yields 12/12 from seed, or freshly rooted clones is not for you.
