in regards to the droopiness, how are your temps in there? i have a 150w hps running and my 12/12 from seeds have all had a little droop to them, i attribute it to heat.

The soil may well be my downfall... it's just standard potting compost mixed with compost from my garden.
It's one of the only aspects i'm truly ashamed of.

The pots are quite small, they're all i had in an emergency, they're six inches high and seven inches across. Not that big, but as i said it's all i had at the time.

The soil is probably my biggest concern with the grow, but i made the decision to use it and i have to stick with it now.

I do believe you have a root issue. The best thing you can do is drench your soil with a fungicide drench like CAPTAN. You will see the plant rejuvinate within a couple of days once the fungus stops attacking the roots. I drench in all my new seeds to prevent damp-off.

Can anyone second that?
I am concerned about the soil, i'm just not too sure where i'd get fungicide from and if it's going to be good for my lungs etc.

Look in your local garden center. If not it's on ebay. Captan 50 WP (wettable powder). It ain't gonna hurt your lungs. Just destroys the bad bacteria at the root level. I've been using it for 25 years plus. I still wake up breathing.

Hey Gladys...

I'm not questioning your diagnosis...but I would like to know WHY you believe it is a root issue, and WHY you feel that there is a fungus problem. I don't think that is a very common problem, especially so early on, and when he has been watering only when his soil gets quite dry.

Hey Hal, I've seen it before, the droopies, where the plant is just barely hanging on. He diagnosed his own problem with the soil. He's got some bad bacteria in there attacking the roots and not taken care of with a fungicidal drench he's going to lose the plant.

What the hell ya wanna switch to a veg cycle for? That would mean you put an extra month into growing your plants before you find out what sex they are. I totally don't understand why you would want to do that. The 12/12 light cycle isn't affecting the sex of the plants, if anything doing 12/12 from seed increases the number of females.

It seems like you are having a mini freak-out....

Hello there.

I have been reading alot about this 12/12 method and I'm really excited to try it out.

I have a homebox XS (60x60x120cm). This is a limited growspace so I think the 12/12 method would be suited for me.

I've placed the fan and the filter outside the box to spare some height.

So now to the questions!

How many plants can I have in 0,36 m2? (60x60cm)

I was planning to start the seeds in 1L pots, and wait until they showed sex before I put the females into one large box with soil! But, how big should this box be? How many liters per plant?

I've ordered a strain called Blue Tops (Top44 x Blueberry) and KC Brains Cristal Paradise. Do you think these strains are suited for this method?

And I havent bought myself a lightsource yet, cause I was hoping to get some recommendations from you guys.. So what light should I buy?

A 400W HPS with cooltube? And with digital ballast?

Or should I degrade to a 250W HPS in cooltube, or several 200W LE ?

I hope you can answer some of my questions
