Had to stand behind a midget in the Access Centre (drivers license building) yesterday. It was all I could do to keep my mouth shut.

"HOW DO YOU REACH THE PEDALS? CAN I PET YOU? DO YOU WEAR STILTS WHEN YOU DRIVE? ANYONE TRY TO STOP SHORT WITH YA?"

Yeah. Though my body ages, my mind stopped somewhere between three and five...

Missed my morning coffee two days in a row. I have had a headache and was sluggish during the day. Can't wait for tomorrow morning.

haha I can't even imagine the huge scandal the would cause if someone proposed that. I live in one of those places where people get up in arms about the smallest bullshit.

For anyone who has a Keurig machine, I heard they are now making soup K cups!

EDIT- There was a coffee shop in Maine that took it too a whole new level. The Topless Coffee Shop. Then some asshole burned it down. I hope they rebuild it. That's a helluva business model.

Don't get me started on Keurigs. How they convinced everyone to pay $3 bucks a cup for homebrew is beyond me.

just brush your teeth after you drink coffee. problem solved

Some people see problems, others solutions.

Even if my teeth were permanently stained yellow as a result, I'd still drink the life giving elixer that is coffee. Hasen't stopped me from chain smoking either.

$3 a cup!?! No way man!! I buy the ones on sale. Usually $5.99 for a 10 or 12 pack. Good brands too and I like the selection.

Oh, and I also got my Keurig machine for free. But that's a story for another day lol.

Ahh truth be told it's been awhile since I've even looked at the prices (and was also thinking of the expresso bits).

Either way, I measure my coffee in litres, not cups  Though I see the convenience

IMhO it's the fuckloads of waste that make them an unnecessary and overly expensive product. I don't care how cheap you think you get them, extrapolate to a few gallons and you're very likely paying half again as much or more, more.

They use much more raw materials than any other method I can think of...because we aren't a wasteful enough culture already :tiphat:

And here I was thinking it was witchcraft. Bully up, turns out to be magic. They said it would be like this.

I pour old coffee into my chickens' feed bucket.

Still not sure if it has an effect on them.

Today they get an old male (well, actually, a male that will never grow old) to chew on, too.

The chicken equivalent of Wake & Bake ?

I save my coffee in Arrowhead water bottles, in the fridge.

But after a few weeks, it gets nasty ... separates, part of it is thick like molasses.

But it still has caffeine :woohoo:

That's what goes into the bucket.

Getting coffee? Bet you buy it from a locally owned shop

Where do you get your morning coffee? If you buy it from a local coffee shop (not a national chain), you’re in good company.

A new survey by Pemco Insurance of Seattle found that half of Northwest residents who buy brewed coffee from coffee retailers prefer to get their caffeine fix from a local coffee shop. Only one in 10 say they’d rather frequent a national or global brand.

Pemco’s survey by FBK Research of Seattle in March asked 600 people in Oregon and 600 in Washington about their coffee-buying habits. It found that most Oregon and Washington residents who purchased at least one cup of brewed coffee in the past month (53 percent) say they prefer to buy a cup of coffee from a regional or locally owned business. Just 14 percent say they’d choose a national or international chain if both types of establishments were equally convenient.

“There’s no question we’re passionate about coffee here, and we were curious about how our preferences might play out in a light-hearted poll,” said Jon Osterberg, Pemco Insurance spokesman. “The responses seem to reflect a strong preference for local establishments like Dutch Brothers or Stumptown over more nationally recognized brands like Starbucks or Peet’s.”

According to the survey, Oregon has more “buy local” loyalists, with 58 percent preferring a local brand, compared to 48 percent of Washingtonians who say the same. Very few Oregonians would choose a national brand compared to Washingtonians, as well — just 11 percent prefer a chain compared to 16 percent in Washington.

About seven in 10 of all Northwest residents say they’ve purchased coffee beans or grounds in the past month. Of the three-quarters of coffee drinkers who consume at least a cup a week, the survey found that just 17 percent say they brew at home exclusively. Instead, a majority of coffee drinkers (55 percent) opt for a combination of home-brewed and coffee-shop purchases.

And, just for fun, the survey asked people how many additional instructions they typically give a barista when ordering a beverage. About one-third of Northwesterners (34 percent) order coffee straight off the menu, with no additional instructions. Another 34 percent say they offer one instruction. About 31 percent say they provide two or more instructions.
