sonoma...as everyone else has stated previously...you are the muthafuckin' man!...i read that you do this sort of thing (dream room building) professionally, and i hope you don't mind me asking, but i am getting ready soon to build my own dream grow room soon and could use some advice with some of the different aspects i was thinking about...i've always grown in closets, but now have a chance to build my own growroom...it'll be small, at the most enough to house about 2000w max...but i wanted to get some effective size ranges when using that wattage at most....and i noticed you guys use 600s...is this the way to go?....i like the idea of the drainage in the large room, and that shed is something that a friend suggested, but i'd rather build the room....i'm just looking for nothing more than at most 2 pounds per harvest...so not too large, but enough to get the trick done....sorry so many ??...but you seem to be VERY knowledgable of building these things...ok....mahalo for the information bro...you are a very needed member here...aloha!

TheFlyinHaWyn!- Thanks---I'd love to help in any way I can....I would definetly go with 600 watters. You can get 2 lbs with 3-600's, and you'd still have 200 watts left to grow clones for each season (haha), but if you really had it dialed you could pull 4 lbs with 1800 watts. 3 600's are more efficient and cover more area than 2-1000w, and you use less watts. You say you want to "build the room"....what kind of room?

myst-......thanks.....It depends on what hood you are using. I use Silver Star hood, they're awesome, and I do 3'x3' per but you can cover more....4'x5' maybe, factors are distance from the canopy, reflective material, hood, bulb and in your case light movers.

You instantly gained my respect when I saw the attention to detail you put into building a grow area.

What are the dimensions on your 10lb shed? It blows my mind that after you set up the shed you never touch the plants.

Thanks again.

Hey Myst, I built a 300 gallon resi out of 2x4, plywood, and pond liner. Basically built a big rectangle, stuffed it with pond liner, and put in a pump. From the pump I ran 1-1/4" pipe to the shed, through the wall. Kind of like this one.....

Then I ran pipe all the way around inside the shed. Like this one.....

From the 1-1/4", I went to 3/4" like in the picture, then to 1/8" spaghetti that goes to each plant. I don't use a dripper, so it doesn't clog.

The resi is next to the shed, covered by the fencing. My house has a little niche that the water storage fit in perfectly, and I put hinges on it so I could work back there.

great work sonoma! safety first. WARNING!!! big gennys need to be loaded up. if they run without enough draw (like when the lights are off) they can easliy convert the energy the produce into HEAT in the wire. unless you dump that heat, like into heater banks or something,(or flip-flop 2 rooms) it will heat the wire and catch fire, somewhere along the line, probably at the sub-panel.i have seen this happen, we lost everything! but escaped with our lives and our freedom. i understand your gen is in a separate space than the grow, this is good! make sure to keep your 1000G of biodiesel far from the gen too. 1000G of fuel on fire is NOT COOL, even at night.

now about those silverstars. i got 'em too. i put 3 over a 4x8 table, mainly 'cuz i had 2x1000 over the tables and swithced to 600's. but you figure 3x9 might be more appropriate? im not sure im satisfied with the throw of the silverstars, esp. in the front and back.

Irie-I-strange that you say that......The generator had to be started and stopped every day, which was a problem.....Was!!!! A couple of days ago the whole shed, generator and all, burned to the ground. The tank was unaffected...One of the attendants installed a faulty dehumidifier, which caught fire, and burned it to the ground.....luckily I am just the builder......
As far as the silver stars ...that's how I use them..3-600's per 4x8 tray. do you have the hoods turned at a 90 degree to the tray? the spread is better that way....

Not the original shed posted, but this one......

This was a remodel...we added all the plumbing....and just made it easier to work with....but the attendent was not right.....bummer for them....I donated the money I made back to their cause......hard lesson.....and thankfully for the volunteer fire fighters, that are locals, and are used to this kind of thing. They put the fire out and said they were sorry....that's it....the owner of the shed is going back to growing in the great outdoors.........It could've been worse...their house could have gone up.....the fuel tank.....if it was summer their land would have gone up with it, neighboring land, the sheriff. Yikes!!!!!

my silverstars are set up side by side across a table, with the longer sides almost touching, the air blows through the light across the short (4ft) way of the table, to a light on the next table and so on. i use a elicent 500cfmish to push the air through a manifold and then through the lights, to reconverge at a manifold again

Sorry to hear about the shed.

Can you get into a bit more detail on how your water system’s 3/4" hose to 1/8" spaghetti hose is attached to each other without leaking everywhere? I hope I’m not being a pain. I’ve decided to setup the back 2.5m x 2.5m of my room like your shed where I won’t be able to touch it. So I need to build this watering system.
Thanks again.

myst-no pain, glad to help. What I do is use a 3/16" drill bit, and drill into the 3/4" then stuff the 1/8" spaghetti into the hole. careful not to drill through the bottom. I'll try to get some close up pictures tonight when the lights are on......
Thunderbolts-thanks.....we are pretty busy......I'm a builder already, but building grow rooms is much more fun, and more satisfying.....peace
