I’m not saying I think clones should be thousands of dollars but for you guys complaining about the price and think clones should be cheaper than a pack of seeds, maybe you should start a small nursery and sell for next to nothing. Report back with you’re findings
Small nursery ere...can confirm...

Most folks don't understand,
Pots
Up potting
light bill
water bill
other requirements of equipment
Ipm
Hlv tests
Nutrients
Healty plants
Discreet overnight packages
Labor cost to keep all that up

125 to 300 a clone is a solid deal 👌 👍 in my humble opinion

I take a big of hit up-front but , doesn't outweigh the amount sold

Ie, 1000 for clone
Tissue Culture her if dirty
If not, after hlv testing goes into rotation to become a 👩 mom

Then ,upkeep,ipm Nutrients etc

Idk...there are some great vendors out there...

Gmo, farmer joe ,others..discord if your savy

But the love of the plant, outweighs the up-front cost and upkeep of clean genetics for access to anyone...

It's not cheap to grow multiple plants. Home growers can keep a few going fairly cheaply. Stepping into a rotating 15 plant operation costs $$$$.. PGE alone is 1k$ a month

Most people don’t get that all that goes in to it. They just think branch and plug. How much can it possibly cost to make a clone lol

At one time I had a full basement op: nursery, veg, flower rooms. At most I had an 11 cut library then down to 9. I wasn't in it to sell clones.. although my partner did sell clones and seeds from underneath me. I could never blow 10 grand on a plant but if people out there are holding that much cake and somebody gets it then may Jah bless them both. For me, popping beans is like unwrapping Christmas presents.. thats the fun for me.

Many of the people calling some of these clone prices outrageous know exactly what goes into it. Go to any Home Depot and take a look at the houseplant section. Those plants are all cloned and took much longer to bring to market requiring more time and costs. Rose plants, blueberries poinsettias, etc... all take much longer and are more difficult to clone than cannabis and cost much less than the crazy prices some people are paying for cannabis clones. I could list dozens and dozens of plants that require more effort, money, and time to propagate that don't cost anywhere close to some of the prices cannabis clones are being sold for.

So now that I've made a comparison of the cost to produce cannabis clones vs other plant species, what is the justification for the outrageous prices?

I have a funny feeling this might be 95% of your problem with all these clones. What is your process after receiving clones?
Perfect name and probably the spreader of infected clones, since he joined today. You want me to spread the pictures on every site I belong to???? What kind of loser sells known infected crap, and too much of a coward to deal with it. The owner used to put out videos on youtube, but probably too attached to crack pipe to do anything right anymore.

If you don't want to phenohunt your dream plant then you should pay what the guy with your dream plant asks for. Especially if it's not covered in weed cooties.
If they sell clean plants, which is rare these days. According to Tumi, I think it was 70% of growers having 30% infected plants between fusarium and HLVD. It is hobbyists creating sites, not testing, putting everything in the same aerocloner, and infecting everything. Then using that garbage for new mothers.

All of his best are expensive. He sent me his Chimera clone. It is very good. A clone is worth what people are willing to pay. It looks like people are paying his prices. He still sells Chimera for the same 10K$. I've had it fir over 2 years now
No, I don't think he even sells it anymore, and last I saw was $250K. Was down to $7500 soon after release for $10K. Now permanent chimera dozens of numbers with top going for $12.5K.

Busy at moment but will post pictures of plant that had 4 stem cankers within days of receipt, which means fusarium. Loser seller MG1 had trimmed off 3 sets of leaves at bottom which died from fusarium, and knew it, before sending.

I prefer popping seeds myself. I love the hunt finding those special 1 off plants. I don't have many clones from others. Just 2, Chimera and Appilaicain super skunk. I had White Truffle but culled her when I found Destiny from seed.
I know there are many that do, but I am old, and have no desire to waste my life hunting for the new best thing. Would rather have something known good. People should not need a tissue culture lab to salvage garbage clones from miscreants knowingly spreading disease, but sadly that is where I am at.

It costs about a dollar after paying for genetics, plus time. Some of these guys use aerocloners, so cut, stick in insert, and done, so about a minute of work.

Only someone as ignorant as MG1 would think a clone can get infected and die within days and be the buyers fault. Fusarium gets in through damage, no other way. So it happens when clone is taken and gaping hole exposed to all the disease in a cesspool of a grow facility. Stem canker signs of fusarium take weeks. This crap probably had HLVD also, since it snapped at canker from picking up pot 2 days after cankers were apparent. Gave this arse hole many chances to send something clean or refund, but he must be too busy ignoring everyone that bought his shite, to do anything.

Did you see that post above outlining costs ? Those houseplants aren’t subject to hardly any of that cost. Totally different ball game

I’d like to see you acquire say 50 plants. Setup a mother room / propagation area etc. lights, racks, dehumidifiers, mini splits, the whole 9. Quarantine them. Test them all multiple times.
Take a few hundred clones per week while following measures to ensure there is no cross contamination. Stick to a strict SOP , new gloves between taking clones. The list goes on. Then go sell them for $10 a piece. Do all that and come back with that same energy. I’ll be here waiting. Guarantee you will be singing a different tune

I'm 70ish lol. My garden is what keeps me busy. It's not hard growing good weed today.
