Buy products made locally. Why anyone would make such an important purchase from China is beyond me. They undoubtedly manufacture what we colloquially call ‘Shite’. There was a fantastic retailer of LED lights here in the UK. Built by local lads to local regulations. Always at the end of the phone or on hand at the forum to see folk right. Unfortunately they’re not about anymore because people keep buying cheap crap from China. The fact they can’t honour a competition winner doesn’t surprise me one bit. Probably get a house fire as a bonus prize. Let them keep the light since they’re dog shit anyway.

Half my LEDs are made by HLG and the other half are Chinese ones by qkwin. The hlg ones cost me almost 3 times as much. When growing clones, they have performed exactly the same. That's why people buy stuff from china.

The downside to this is the lack of warranty and customer support. Mars hydro "seemed" to be different from other Chinese companies as they were actually communicating with users on the forums and Instagram, which is unusual.

It's definitely not that they "can't" honour a competition, because you see so many mars hydro products being used online that it's obvious their marketing strategy is working wonders.

To me it looks more like others have said. That there may have been internal changes of some kind in the company, for whatever reason, and maybe all of the sudden forum users being happy is not so important for their strategy. Could be they are getting bought by a bigger company, or something like that, who knows.

No, they're based out of Shenzhen China.
No America company would ignore customers the way Mars does.
American companies are usually small with a tight group of regular customers so the American companies do everything they can to keep people coming back.

Look at the warranty HLG offers, they actually stand behind it too.

@Mars Hydro Led said i won the first price in the halloween photo contest, i opened a private message with Mars Hydro but being ignored for weeks now and they are still posting here in the forum and are online almost every day.

I even invited the Admin @exploziv into the private message with Mars Hydro but Mars Hydro is even ignoring the Admin...

This is not correct and everybody should know what you are doing here as a official vendor.

I haven't received anything yet, but I'm sure there was some logistical problem.
I also sent a PM @Mars Hydro Led without receiving a reply but I'm more than certain that they will show up...it has already happened that mars disappeared for some time but he ALWAYS kept what he said, also the fact that he continues to post, it doesn't mean anything, there could be more than one person on the staff writing with the name of Mars Hydro Led... so I don't have any problems, furthermore I participated for the sake of participating, the "prize" has a secondary importance, if it arrives I'm happier but if it doesn't arrive it's okay too.
I don't think a company like this is "lost" for a few dollars more or less

Regardless if they advertise something they should make it right

Mars does have a US shipping location. They're not coming from Chima to the USA. I dont know about other countries. Keep in mind most growing fixtures are made in China. I think HLG assembles in the US but buys the diodes from China.
