question for sam the skunkman on the original haze

@hempy

The Haze Whisperer
just thought id quote that again and highlight the part that some folks seem to be mixed up over ,
hempy quotes it all the time trying to indicate original haze had thai in it ,

its nice to see it written now as it is undeniable what was meant by the original statement but taken a little out of context by some users ..

thanks for clearing that up sam ....

You just love to throw me under any bus in the hope you can nail me all class mate maybe you should focus less on me and more on research.

Both Nevil and Shanti believe Haze is Thai/Colombian and what has been posted for at lest 20 years.

Any grower that grew old school Thais and Colombians would know there is a connection to Haze.

Tom hill posted this.
There was an earlier version sam passed around. You'll have to drag it out of him lol. When i met adam at thseeds mid90's there was this guy smoking a cerebral sandlewoody thing. I believe that to be one of sams earlier haze lots again drag it out of him if you can lol. I reckon that the one shanti ran with. But for me, the final incarnation when realized in all its glory was best. And that is the heavy citus thai green 4 way hybrid.

Sam posted this.

FYI,
Burning Bush was an Original Haze with a strong Thai influence. I named it.
There were only Two Haze Brothers and they did not go to NYC and visit HT.
Joe Haze is not a Haze brother. The Haze Brothers did not grow Indica's, they grew Sativa's.
They did grow my Skunk #1 after 1980, because it was easier and faster for them.
-SamS (who was there)

The Original Hazes never did have much hermis, maybe the Haze with Thai bloodlines had a few. We just never used hermis for breeding period.
They also traditionally gave 60-70 % the the plants female, the sex ratio was not 50/50.
All my best Original Hazes orver the years were late maturing not early.
BTW Original Haze is not Dutch genetics, it was developed in California, moved to Netherlands.

post from Sam that is from CW
"All of the S Indian and Thai crosses were toward the end of Haze production. Not only males were used for crosses. The 3 year timeline was just someones dream , Haze was grown for over 10years by the haze bros , Sacred seeds tried to stabilize Haze with mixed results. The quality dropped considerably. The problem is that the best Hazes were F1s Hybrids , and Haze stabilization can not be done without a loss of vigor

I use haze females , and I do have a few Haze males that I selected from hundreds of males , after testing their progeny first. But it is a lot of work and beyond most closet breeders. The progenys growouts involved thousands of plants. Just to determine the best haze male to use for Hybrids

If the burning bush like hazes are the goal, both sam and tom elude to this. What is it about them that makes them stand out apart from flowering time.

Back in the day nevs haze was listed as colombian/thai x nl and haze was listed as a four way mex x colombian x thai x kerala, this is now old fake news post phylos.

Multiple people who know weeds say that there are thai like hazes, i just want to know what that is phenotype wise.
i think its just the thin leaf bean ,
hard to tell one from another as they are quite similar ,

the flowers and odors would likely be the separating feature ...

this is a thai just starting to flower ..

no , i just like to see the correct information ,
you thought burning bush was thai , you quoted it as such many times ,
now you can see it isnt ,,

you could say something like "thanks for clearing that up sam , i can see where i went wrong "
but being you of course we are not going to hear something humble like that ... i

now you see from the man who shared the seed there is no thai in that burning bush,

directly from the horses mouth ..

I cant see the pic but i can see the bb code in the quote.

Regardless of mans recent selections, the weeds all came from the same base line like all modern veg and cultivated species...so maybe the thai in the colombian is just another complicated gene expression from a micro climate.. or maybe the Colombians imported some thai weeeds like the rest of America? Phylos isnt a fully written book to read from accurately either so healthy lumps of salt all round.

The answers always lead to more questions.

i think your right bean ,
they all have one t hing in common , the same original origin ,
adaption and selection alters the outcome , but that doesnt mean you cant find some similarities in some of the long flowering sativas from one continent to another ...

sorry i had the album on private , i think its ok now though ..

But that looks just like a punta roja in veg lol

Dealers made up bull shit all the time but smugglers confirmed there was a specific time of year for the thai imports, they knew where the loads came from.

So far this is the most sandlewood haze ive had... Cant wait to see her again. The color of the pistils are a different more true red than anything ive seen.

What would you say? More colombian? Ive seen pictures of Zamal, and Indian that looked similar.

Other haze ive had had more catpiss, lemon, and other shit that overpowered, or outshined the sandalwood... This is more rotten musk almost mango... Not sweet.. Only the fine incense shining.. How I prefer it.. Leave the room smelling like the worlds most expensive cologne instead of skunky nasty mids.

yes i wouldnt believe much a dealer says ,
he is protecting his own interests and trying to make as much money as he can , they will tell many stories to achieve both those goals ...

from what i can gather thai weed was planted after the wet season/monsoon ended and grew for 5-6 months max before harvest ... this way the plants were not out in the crappy rainy weather and matured when it was nice and dry and the humidity was low ..

i do and have , it seems what i read vs you is not the same with regards to that old burning bush quote you like to trot out as proof of something ,
the best person to listen to as far as what seed was shared and what was in the stuff that was shared , is the person that shared it,
its silly to listen to anyone else that firstly was not there , and secondly did not make the seeds or have first hand information on what was in them etc ,,

you can believe what ever you choose , as wrong as it might be ,

but its best not to try to encourage others to believe something you have misinterpreted in the first place, this is a place of information and it should be accurate or corrected if it s not ...

I am not the only one reading Sam's quotes and coming to the conclusion of Thai.

I'll be the judge of everything, ill find the best sandalwood/haze/incense.....
Ill start calling it Godbreath and we will know its the real deal, and the lineage wont matter... We can start from scratch.
