Greetings! Happy to say that Empress Zamaldelica and her clone army are doing superbly. Today I got to sample a bud taster.
Pungent terpenes profile almost shock the nose at first encounter. Strong smell and sparkly appearance , got a good thing going on!
Smoke is pleasing and expresses her African heritage well with woods, earthy , oily flavors joining the lemony pine starter inhale. Soon an influx of resin explodes in a deliciously overpowering way , jolting my mind to the glittering gems of resin heads this plant possess. Hmmm! drifting thru my heavens and pushing up into my eyes and then holding my head in a nice squeeze! Just what I needed. Pleasing drift of focus and attention drifting here and there. The desire to listen to music and drift even more is certainly felt here. Good vibes now flowing thru and all is irie !
Yes Yes Yes ! Just the right kind of plant for a good mediation.
Give Thanks Ace Seeds ! Great seeds!

Thank you Dubi and all at Ace Seeds Zamaldelica is more than I imagined and such a beautiful plant go grow. Lovely aromas and scents from this Empress. Week by week she gets stronger and stronger.

Thanks to you ULMW for all your kindness, support and contributions to this room. :thank you:

Your Zamaldelica is a good example of the more refined current Zamaldelica fem version

Hi willydread,

Are you growing Zamaldelica regular version, isn't ?
Your Zamaldelicas are clearly showing traits coming from the Zamal A mother, and the semi autoflowering trait in one of them.

Anyway, and as baduy pointed, it's better (or more accurate) to judge the phenotypes in late flowering and after doing smoking tests of the different parental plants after a good curing.

Wish they are having a good development! :)

Zamaldelica fem ladies in desparate need of an up-pot but I need to keep them 'small' for now until the flowering tent is available.

Hi saitama,

Really healthy Zamaldelicas you have there :) Especially for being grown in such small pots

Wish they stay healthy in flowering too so they can provide you a high quality sativa harvest. Please, keep us updated with the progresses when you have the chance

I have four Zamaldelicas 61 days from flip, a couple of them are starting to look close to finishing to me like would be done by day 70. Should these be left longer than that I don't want to take them too early and lose out on affect, or are there some phenos that will finish in 10 weeks.

Hi Moderndayhippy,

I'm sorry for not replying your post on time.

Your Zamaldelicas look very close to our Zamaldelica elite mango carrot mother, which (as you have experienced) has a more compact size and a quite short flowering time for being a pure sativa .

The flowers look very well developed and enough matured in your post, the right harvest time was close to the moment you took the pics, hopefully you finally harvested them in a peak of maturation of your taste.

In case i delay and you need a fast reply please email me to: [email protected]
and i will reply you in the next 24 working hours. This room has so much info that i'm having trouble to reply and keep updated all the threads, hope you understand. :thank you:

Welcome chronosync,

How are your Zamaldelicas doing now in late August ?
Are they having a healthy growth or are you still having doubts with the feeding and growing media ?

I'm catching up on this thread but have a few quick questions about some features of the 5 Zam reg girls I have. I've noticed 2 plants have purple stems, I've seen a few photos of others with the same look. Wondering if that's a genetic thing or "gardener difficency". lol Also I noticed that some plants started flowering (socal outdoor) mid July and the others are juuust getting their hairs on. I'm guessing since she likes to flower for a while, the former is preferable. Finally, I'm watering them well, but the leaves tend to droop a bit and taco. Looking forward to adding my own nugshots in a few months!

Welcome slightlysticky :)

The purple stems in Zamaldelica regular version can come from the Malawi (purple pheno) or from the Meao Thai male. Pure Zamal grows with a very light green color, and only some rare pure Zamals get purple colors in late flowering (but only if they are flowering with low temps).

In order to reply more accurately to your question, kindly post pics of your plants if you have the chance, then we will be able to check whether is a nutrient deficiency or something genetic.

Dubi, what do you think of Neville haze mr. Nice?
Already thought of crossing zamal x neville haze or zamal x oldtimer haze? Zamal x haze, zamal x Thai x Neville, Zamal X Thai?

Hi Knop,

Honestly, i haven't grown anything from Mr Nice so i cannot help you with this comparison. I used to smoke Neville's Haze, Jack Herer, Kali Mist and all the elite Haze hybrids derived from Nevil's breeding 15-20 years ago, since then all i have tried just seem to be degradated versions of those amazing haze hybrids that were elite at that time, like is the case of Amnesia Haze and other current so called Haze hybrids, polluted with too much indica genetics that most seedbanks are offering nowadays.

Of course, i have considered to cross Zamaldelica with Haze (indeed i explored a bit this path 15 years ago). I think soon i will be able to announce VERY exciting news about new Haze hybrids that can arise from us in a not distant future. But i will announce it when we finish some testings and when it is the right time ;)

The two Zamals I grew were remarkably uniform and both exhibit very Thai leaning traits, in fact if not for the faint oily smell of Malawi I can detect from the buds I would have sworn I was smoking old school Thai weed.
Zamaldelica is a very mellow smoke I find and it is definitely what I would call time release marijuana :)

Zamaldelica - 13 1/2 weeks

Zamaldelica - 13 1/2 weeks

Here is my Zam at about 13 1/2 weeks 11/13. She seems to keep shooting out the white pistils. I switched to 10/14 today to see if it speeds her up a bit. So far, she is looking good. Smell is delicious...

Syd,

Its a fem Zam purchased from Ace in spring 2015. Tomorrow will be 14 weeks flowering. She looks like she needs a couple more weeks.

Thanks,jb!I want to have panama, malawi and tikal (among others)in my next run and was wondering if I could squeeze in the zam .It would be really nice if everything would finish at 13-14 weeks of reduced photoperiod.I had ruled out the gt (as I don't want to half-finish it again) and judging from other grows I have observed that the fem zam with the new killer malawi is quite a fast finisher for her pedigree and faster than the earlier releases.I believe I have a later batch than yours...I think the 10/14 and starvation will make yours finish as you are planning.Enjoy your last weeks with her, looks killer!:)
