Why don't you order from Ace and ask for the trippy pheno? Dubi has more lines than just the one described and sold at seed banks.

It will be the best seed buying experience you will ever have. Buy seeds from somebody else after that and you will just shake your head.

is gerit's cut from the GN zamal?

Hi earthwyrms,

Yes, Gerrit's Zamal mother came from the original Zamal seeds that Gypsy brought around 15-20 years ago from Reunion Island (wow! time flies!). We must deeply thank Gypsy for introducing this amazing tropical african sativa in the cannabis scene (most of the times sharing the seeds for free).

There's more info about the pure Zamal mother used to create Zamaldelica that Gerrit from Magus genetics sent me more than 10 years ago in this thread:

https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=101916

To make it short, Gerrit was working at that time mainly with fast flowering indoor lines like afghani/skunk hybrids, in my opinion his Warlock was the best afghani/skunk hybrid of that time.

He also received the original Zamal seeds from Gypsy and grew them all, but he found pure Zamal to be too tropical and lacking of the terpenes he was looking for for his breeding goals. But he end up finding 2 pure Zamal females that worked better indoors than the average and that were more of his taste, they were labelled as Zamal A (the fruity mango carrrot pheno) and Zamal B (a Zamal with woodier/earthier aromas). He also did some Zamal x Warlock crosses but these hybrids were still too sativa for the type of plants he was working and looking for.

I always had a very good personal relationship with Gerrit, and i had lots of respect for his work, despite i was more into sativas and landraces and on the other hand he was working mainly with dutch classic mostly indica type of plants. But the old Warlock was a really good strain and it also had a very positive impact in me back in the day). In fact, i miss him a lot and i hope he is doing fine after all these years and after selling his company and lines to Serious Seeds.
We used to enjoyed together hours of conversations when we had the chance to meet in person in different cannabis fairs.

Gerrit knew that i was a sativa lover and that i had previous experience with Zamal so he was kind enough to send me clones of his favourite Zamal A mother, he had to send me the clones 3 times! but at the end i managed to get some copies of Zamal A that survived the trip.

His Zamal A had the semi autoflowering trait so it was/is a pain in the ass to keep in the mother room, but i feel blessed that he decided to share this special mother with me to work with her.
And that's what i did, first i did some Zamal x indica crosses that were ok, then i did Zamaldelica, and the rest is history ;)

Hi rexamus616,

Thanks for sharing pics of your outdoor Zamaldelicas facing the end of flowering. Your Zamaldelica # 10 seems a more Zamal/Thai pheno, while # 11 has more New Killer Malawi influence.

You must be enjoying there while your Zamaldelicas and Purple Haze are curing ;)

hy dubi ,with this second run i did a final selection between two phenotypes i maintain of zamadelica and that one in the photos is really near to you description:
That's a real nice example of a well balanced Zamaldelica with clear and desirable traits from the 3 landraces used to produce this sativa: it has the small resinous ovaries from Gerrit's Zamal clone/mother, the chunkyness, high yield, fast flowering and tamed indoor traits of our more modern Malawi generations and a bit of Thai feeling too .
now is at 84 days from clone, i switch from 12-12 to 10-14 4 days ago because i need to hurryup a little bit ,did the final flush today.
purple haze malawi is the survivor of the 3 best ones selected, produce hard rock nugget, very heavy , really compact and strongly covered of thc ,on first run i harvest a decent bud where resin shines a lot but now is showing something more interesting ,definitely no fluffy buds. here start a soffocant hot summer and i can't induce colors this time from purple h but is for sure one of the dark ones.
yes for sure after harvest i will try new genetics you sent me with a little batch of thats of greats zamadelicas , an interesting neville i discover this winter and some durban, i'm really struggling with space so i'm doing miracles to maintaining ,selecting, trying, crossing, smoking :), ecc ecc... i have also panama packs, fem and cria, more zamadelicas, panama haze, all my crossing too but this is too much for next run and i will wait or associate some fastest strains in first run and slowers for second run. i need to think about a good strategy because i would like to do all but is quite impossible .

Hi akirabull,

Yeah, we live in a similar mediterranean climate and summers here are also too hot to induce much pigmentation, only very purple strains like ErdPurt or PCK will show colors even under these very high summer temps.

I'm glad you found and still keep your Zamaldelica selection and that she is close to my description of our Zamaldelica elite parental plant. The cured buds look yummy :ymmy: Thanks for sharing them! :) And please keep us updated with your new endevours of this season!

I have four zamaldelica about three weeks into flower in a light dep greenhouse. Three are fem and one was from dubi's trippy pheno. They are grown in 20 gallon pots of organic soil and are currently about 4 feet tall.I have never successfully grown a pure sativa so I am really excited about trying these out. Haven't done any training just letting them do their thing.

I have 4 zamaldelica about 6 weeks from flip, they are outdoors in a greenhouse with no training at all such amazing beautiful plants. They seem to be progressing pretty quick and buds are filling in nice, real excited to test them out.

Welcome Moderndayhippy :)

Glad you are already flowering in your light dep greenhouse different Zamaldelicas from the fem line and from the regular trippy/scary line. Looks like they are enjoying in the greenhouse, hopefully everything goes well and you can experience your first homegrown pure sativa smoke soon ;)

Thanks Dubi, shes been great to grow and so far very impressed with the little i've had to smoke...building up to a session !

I took some more at 74 days and the rest around 80 days. Couple of shots. Really pungent tropical pineapple smell chopping.

Looks delicious Wellandwitham :yummy:

The refined aromas of tropical fruits are the kind of terpenes i'm trying to fix in recent Zamaldelica breeding, they are quite easy to find in current Zamaldelica fem version.

What's your opinion about her after 1 month of curing ?

Which one? I smoked the bit product he had in 2015. Which was I assume the same as the F2 Elites. I wasn't really going to run but for curiosities sake I did, and was very surprised. They smelled like pineapple or very sweet mango. Very sticky and lot's of resin. Mine had thin leaves, but grew more like a Golden tiger. Cure it, and it's top notch smoke.

Glad you liked this one vinrusso ;)

My favorite Zamaldelica seeded buds with a 2 month cure. Zamaldelica x Cannatonic

Nice Bushbandit :)

Glad you pollinated your favourite Zamaldelica to produce your own seeds.

We are also in the process to pollinate our very rich CBD parental plants (close to 25 % of CBD) derived from Cannatonic S1 line with some of our best sativas and hybrids with best terpenes and effects, and Zamaldelica is one of them ;)

I'm wondering if your Zamaldelica x Cannatonic cross will produce a stable mixed THC:CBD chemotype or if it will produce phenos with different chemotypes, although only lab tests will be able to confirm this.
Please, keep us updated with the results of the cross.

If Zamaldelica was grown outdoors in more northern latitudes (40°N) would she bloom when most strains bloom (late July/early August for me). Or would she be like a equatorial sativa and bloom once my region is closer to 12/12 (September)?

Hi Boogieman,

The current Zamaldelica fem version is much more tamed and flowers faster and earlier than the average of the regular lines.

Current Zamaldelica fem versions will start to flower at your latitude in first half of August and will finish last week of October, the regular lines can go up to November, with a wilder, less tamed tropical sativa behaviour.

Hope it helps.

Hi willydread,

It could be a semi autoflowering Zamaldelica pheno with more pure Zamal A influence. What are the growing conditions of the plant at that stage (photoperiod, size of the pot, etc ....) ?

Hi dubi, this plant is one of 3 plants on 5 lt pot, with very light fertilized, they are outdoor at 42 degrees...

That helps a lot, thank you! Are the fem's still very potent? I'm reading about some amazing phenos that remind me of weed I once smoked years ago. Trippy, scary/terrorific, cold, complete mind change, ect.
