What's new

Zamaldelica, organic indoor vertical

I won't need to. The plants in there now have been pretty neglected and haven't been trained at all. Generally, I do a fair bit of training and don't really need to rotate the plants.

I take clones from and generally clean up the "back" of the plant, which in a horizontal garden with hoods would be the "Lowers" that you usually clean out. I generally just stake all of the branches to the sides... similar to LST, only vertically? All of the branches that grow directly towards the light and the rear get cut or pulled outwards/sideways to widen the plant. I'll have a photo to demonstrate in a day or two since I realize that's a crappy explanation. Just trained some plants in veg, they'll be in flower real soon.

Here's a couple of old ones when I ran a 30" x 30" vert.

i hope this helps give a visual. Anything growing straight out towards the light gets pulled to the left or right, the rear (against the wall) is cleaned up. I'll likely end up getting more fencing on the walls, just in the meantime I use 3-5 stakes per plant.

Interesting, so you're essentially growing a fascia of plant, a one sided hedge affair?
Whatever it is, it's working really nicely for you, really healthy looking plants. Nice.

Greetings SmokinErb22,

I'm glad to know you have had good experiences with our seeds and that you want to explore more our catalogue. I hope Zamaldelica satisfy you in your quest of more energetic and uplifting effects.

The setup looks great and the light intensity is more than enough to get the best of them. Are you growing Zamaldelica standard or feminized ? What is the packing date ?

Best wishes and thanks for the starting the diary.

Not sure about the packing date, but I got the standard seeds. Didn't keep the package to get the date, but good germ rates and fast growth.

3 left alive, will get pics tonight. Lost one due to my error.... accidentally dropped the plug tray when moving it to transplant station, and broke the main stem of 1. No worries, plan to order more of these along with some Malwai.

Just topped the Zamaldelica plants a couple days ago. Think I left 6 node-sets, will be pruning (really, cloning) the bottom 2 node-sets leaving 4 branches to train. Will be grown to approx 3-4ft tall then flowered.

Edit: Forgot bigtacofarmer mentioned his went from 18" to 6ft... TOPPED. I thought it was trees. Looks like I'll be flowering these closer to 2ft then.

Wow, looking at that last photo... its certainly been a while since I updated. I snapped some photos last night but can't find the cable for my camera... will update photo sometime today...

2 out of 3 are female, have already culled the male. Looking like 2 very different phenos here. One short and squat and one tall/stretchy. Will be transplanting into 7-gallon pots tonight and cloned.

I love a bit of vertical growing . I have had great success with 2x 600 w with a cage around and two monster sensi power plants in the past .harvesting very close to 3 lb per run! Mostly do outdoor with ace strains these days though.
where does the runoff go when you water the plants around the big donut?

Basement is sloped to a drain....grow is located at the highest end of the basement so it just runs back to the drain. I have minimal runoff and prefer more frequent smaller waterings.

My apologies for lack of pics! Still can't find my cord! Will use cell phone and remove exif data tonight if it hasn't popped up.

Confirmed the remaining 2 plants are both female. Very different structurally.

You'll be immensely pleased with the uplifting devastation that is, the ZD fade. There is no ceiling on the high, every toke gets you to another level. I have loads of exp with ZD and self-created ZD crosses. My best advice for you regarding an indoor grow is to veg as little time as possible (0-14 days) and top early and as many times as you can on all arms. ZD stretches 150-250% so tie her down bro. She's a light feeder IME and such a easy growing treat, enjoy.

Checked in for your show SmokinErb22, have a good grow!

Hi panasonic,

I'm glad you are pleased with the effects of your Zamaldelicas :) I'm curious to know more about the outcome of your Zamaldelica crosses. Cheers!

No, yours is a good explanation. very nice setting for a garden.

Here's my two females. Not looking their best due to a recent transplant and hit 'em with some too-strong nute solution the other day. Gonna dial that back for next time but otherwise coming along well.

Two fems, two phenos. Sure to be fire.

Hahaha, oh man I haven't been keeping this updated. No worries though, you're not missing out on anything. These girls are *STILL* vegging!

Probably about 3 ft tall and 3ft wide as well. Been topped twice I believe - I'll definitely get some photos up tonight.

Got a flower room full of ACE right now (minus 1 plant) - Violeta has taken over my flower room, the first one went in flower a week or two ahead of the rest:

Lovely Violeta SmokinErb22 :)

Hope the other strains in the room are performing well too.
Thanks for the updates.

They've actually started to show some symptoms in the last week or so... they've been vegging in 7 gallons for a little while now, will be transplanted into some 18-gallon bins and flowered once they get healthy.

They'll be getting pruned a bit, the "backs" of the plants will be removed. Pretty sure they're going in my vert room.

Need to hit up a chart to figure out what these girls need, taking suggestions in the meantime. Built a tea brewer finally, got my first batch of tea going right now for the girls in flower... will be brewing a tea for the veg girls next, so I got a couple days to figure out what they need.

Plant on the left is 49" tall and approx 42" wide. Has deficiency pictured.

Plant on the right is also 49" tall and about 30" wide. Has slight Nitrogen Toxicity and deficiency pictured.

Both are vegging under 8 lamp, 4ft T5ho. Pretty much take up the whole space.

Hit both with "all purpose" fert mix (Grow 50% strength, Bloom 50% strength, cal-mg 50% strength) and the one on the right didn't like the extra N as there's already plenty of Nitrogen in my soil mix.

Need to isolate the deficiency and treat accordingly with a foliar spray.
