No, didn't go upstairs, just a back room on Fifth Avenue. But still a little sketchy. It was seedy and crappy but being a newbie to Mexico I'm just choking it up to "a learning experience". Next time I'll try dealing with the beach vendors out front of the resort. It's good to hear you scored some nice weed in Playa. I know it's there but I have no contacts, just another gringo tourist.

Next year we'll go somewhere different in Mexico. Any suggestions?

Tulum. Great place..

No problem bro.. I love helping people out and I remember how long it took me to really get what I was hoping for out of Zamaldelica... she good if you just treat her as usual but if you get the harvest juuuust right and cure it real well then the odds of finding something really special as an experience go way up in my opinion..
I hope you get some magic out of it.. sure looks like they’re on the right track!

Day F84

Day F84

So, I scoped this bud (lower bud, upper cola) from the readiest looking zammie. Still just a smattering of amber trics. Mostly cloudy but still 10 - 15% clear. I'll pull a bud from each of the other 3 later today but I'm thinking they want to go another week or so... Under the scope, they don't have the densest trichome fields but where there aren't trics there are large patches of resin.

I tried some lower buds (larf) at 70 days, air dried. Mrs smilley and I both agreed it wasn't best in either potency or flavor but it had no cure either. This bud looks way better under the scope but I still think it needs to ripen more...

Kushy Clone Cobs

Kushy Clone Cobs

After 5 days, I opened the bags, air dried them for 1 day and sealed them up for another week. Yesterday, opened them, air dried them for another day and resealed them. I took a sample from the jerky looking cob, crumbled it up and smoked it in a reefer. It burn't nice, good white ash and smartened me right up in a hurry. It didn't have much flavor though but was nice and smooth. They didn't darken like the ones Tangwena makes. These are only about 7 grams dried each. I'm going to make a couple of 30g size ones out of the zammies. Maybe size does matter?

I'll let them cure till May when we go on our first camping trip of the season.

I know they look a little rough around the edges. Nothing that manicuring won't take care of. I'm going to let em go till day 91. I'm not smelling carrots but gasoline/diesel smell. I've been a commercial painter for 40 years so my sniffer isn't as good as other people's.

The yield looks good. I was hoping for 300g and I suspect it'll be a little shy of that. Still, the buds are nice and firm, plump and looking intensely stoney...

Oh, the 4 kushy clones yielded 170g exactly. The bud is sealed up
and in long term cure.

Those Zammies look great smilley. Let me know what you think of those cobs.
I've been meaning to give it a try one of these days.
And since the World is ending I'd like to cross that off the bucket list.

Peace GG

Mine ended up with a citrus onion degreaser type of strange smell. Very unique and I have ideas of how I can work with it in the future to create something unique. Aside from that, I took mine down too early and they didnt end up with much potency unfortunately.

Try it again in 3-4 months... still might not be as strong as you hoped but I’ve had many individuals underwhelm me at cut and then pick up way more “weird” after a few months in the bags... concentrates are also interesting if your looking to distill some extra power from it... lol early picked Zam in oil form is really weirdly energetic and clear headed.. can be good for daytime stuff if you don’t mind the nervous edge

They look close but could be lying... prepare yourself for ten to fourteen more days if needed and rejoice if it’s earlier maybe? Terpene lets these Amber completely and I have to say I only ever had one bud that I thought I left too long.. either way your getting into the right territory so far as finishing times... now the art side of it comes in and you have to decide what your final strokes will look like and why..
All in all I think you’ve done a great job bro! For whatever that’s worth  :tiphat:

It's been in the jars since november but I'm not tossing it or anything, ill keep trying it. The Panama banji is excellent, but the zam just hasnt gotten much better so far. Ive been mixing it with the panama.

I smoked a sample cut at Day F88. It has more oomph to it than the 70 day sample. I won't comment on the flavor, no cure, it burned nice though.

I scoped this bud today, still very few amber trics. I'm going to let them go a few more days. It'll be soon, though, the fade is creeping into the larger sugar leafs.

Day F98

Day F98

I chopped these two today. The last two will come down tomorrow. Both were nice and sticky and stinking in a good way. I can't say they smell like carrots but a very distinctive odor nonetheless. One was a little sweeter smelling than the other.

I gave them a bit of a shaggy manicure so I don't expect a lot of trim hash. The buds are nice and firm. Of course I'll sample a bit when it's dried but most of it will get a two month plus cure and of course I'm going to make 3 or 4 nice cobs.

This will be the first year in the last 17 years that I've finished growing in March. Seems odd to me as normally I'm not done till late May. It's because I only ran 2 crops this year. Still, I have more than enough weed to last the next 8 months and I'll be cracking beans in early August.

Covid19 is throwing our Summer plans into limbo. The new travel trailer that my wife and I ordered is on the assembly line in Oregon and the line is shut down indefinitely. The RV dealer shut down for a month and all the Provincial Parks are closed indefinitely. I don't think we'll see the new trailer till June at the earliest. Mrs smilley and I are safe and have everything we need so we're both thankful for that. Stay safe everybody and we'll get through this thing...
