YOUR WORST/DISAPOINTED/OVERATED STRAIN(S)

Although by default any G13 Labs freebies are the worst, it's not like anything but crap was expected.

Sensi's Hash Plant came at the most disappointing cost, but the possibility of high CBD genetics could have made it med-valuable at the time if I'd tested it.

A previous version of Sour Bubble was pretty overrated, the unlikable "sour" strong and penetrating. This resulted in extremely prejudicial herbicide not quite so quickly meted to Sour Bubble's exact opposite, Thai Hay-ze. This sour thing (also much too present in unimpressive Blush and Bogbubble) is an abomination.

All of several seeds grown of Sensi's excellent NL5xHaze with a Sour Bubble dad are nice, though. It's a robust, tall, stout, vertical SB - without sour, odor fruity like mom, but lighter. Clone material.

This strongly implies positive experiences are no longer allowed. But, people have been saying the present day offering has gone to shit for 15 years at least, for all Sensi strains. We shouldn't really need to buy 5 packs every few months over that time to give positive opinions. Positive opinions of Sensi's NL5xHaze don't make you a blind Sensi fan.

I think you have mis understood my post.

if I grew ak47 20 years ago and loved it, then come here and see recent growers saying the strain has changed and is now shit, how can I come and defend the breeder? if your experience is outdated then you need to accept they may have completely changed in that time

and its frequently the case. there are die hard breeder fans. yup im sure they kicked ass in their daybut far too many are living off their old reps. like dutch passion and sensi etc.

We're not talking about old AK though. For new vs. old Sensi if old is a year or two ago and new is important, the first question is whether the pack came direct from Sensi in that time, or how long has the vendor had it, since they may not move a lot of their stock. For all we know, all Sensi's seed was grown many years ago and has been in the fridge since and it could be a batch thing only affecting certain vendors. If I ever lose my mom of over 5 yrs I'll rerun and rehash.

At first I was disappointed with FMS co's C99 but I am starting to like it. Some of that is related to me getting to know the strain a little better and getting better results.

I smoked some that had been curing for about a month and it kicked my ass. Also letting her go closer to 60 days vs 50 seems to add to her potency.

The smell is faint but nice. Good drying makes a big difference in how well the smell carries over to finished product. I started hanging the whole plant to dry and then trimming. While it is a PITA, I find that i get better end results this way.

I suppose I set my expectations unrealistically high due to all the hype surrounding this strain.

I do have to say that FMS did a great job stabilizing it. I have had no "herm" issues at all.

2 that stand out for me were Kc Brains Mango and McKush(mikado x BC Kush). Circa 2005. Mango was quite possibly Largest outdoor plant I ever grew.Total water and Nutrient hog, did not begin to flower until season was done.McKush was totally whispy, hundreds of tiny budsites, total pain in the Ass too Trim, no Potency what so Ever. Hundreds of wasted He's on these two varieties. I know Kc,s plants can do way better..thinking mine was Feral Hemp seed..haha!

Mango

I got the MNS Mango at Nevils suggestion. that was off the hook. I crossed a wonderful mango male to an Original OG Kush cut. This cut was hard to pollenate, and only one seed took. This is what that seed produces outdoors. Im preparing to bud it indoors now. Maygog- Original Og x Mango Haze.

I think the oldest seed company was run by Nevil.
He is a personal friend of mine. He has lost much over the years, promoting his favorite herb. He is an expert breeder of both animals and Herb

Anyway... If You want to know the worst weed on the planet(IMO), try Violater Kush. It smokes like rotten sulfur egg yolks, even when grown organicly

It was the Bros. Grimm who stabilized C99... enough for "breeders" like FMS to make knockoffs. I have never grown out C99 myself, but I don't recall people complaining of hermie issues before FMS got their hands on it.

I mean in their feminized seed process. I dont believe BG made feminized seeds of C99 but I could be wrong.

I grew a shiskaberry cross a few months ago that I got cheap. They smell and taste like dirty socks, but the look and high is decent. I just cant bring myself to smoke it again.

Violator Kush was pretty bad. I did however like it grown outdoors.
It took on a whole new flavor.
The most disappointing strain for me was Dinafems SSH.
Fucking HAY!
Big Huge buds of HAY! I chopped 10 plants from clone, vegged for 3 months, then had 4 weeks of flower, after drying and curing my first round from seed and tasting nothing but hay. STOP BREEDING EVERYTHING W/ SKUNK!!! IT DOESNT MAKE THE STRAIN ANY BETTER!!!
Haze should stay w/ Haze. Skunk should stay with Skunk! The originals are always better than the hybrid offspring!!
I had to start over from scratch ~

I ran some sensi jack herer and mr. nice just a couple years ago.
was just getting going again and I thought for sure it would be a safe bet.

I guess that's why I don't like to gamble.

the jack herers were no where near as good as they used to be, I went through two packs and did not find anything I was pleased with.

the mr nice was only one pack, 8/10 were females.
out of 8 females, I did not find a plant worth keeping.

those were two of the most expensive seeds on the market,
I really didn't expect such poor results from them.

what was even more surprising, was the way sensi handled it when I asked about it.
I was showing what was going on at sensi forum, and they banned me.
other than genetics, the only thing they could complain about my grow was that the temperature was getting up to 85 with co2 at 2000ppm.
good weed does not turn to garbage even if it was 100 degrees.
as long as they are not getting burnt by the light.

last year I showed up in Amsterdam and went to the sensi store with my receipts and explained my experience,
and they did nothing to try and make it right.
so they lost a customer for life, I will never buy from sensi again.

too many people willing to share great stuff for free, there is no place in this world for companies who do not stand behind their products and do everything to make their customers happy.

I mean in their feminized seed process. I dont believe BG made feminized seeds of C99 but I could be wrong.

The feminizing process doesn't involve "working the strain" - just growing out regular seeds to find a keeper female which is then reversed (usually with STS or CS) and bred to a clone of it's self.

Since C99 was well bred (stabilized) to begin with, I doubt much selection would have been required.

Weather or not BG made any feminized seed when creating C99 (AFAIK none were ever released by them) matters not. Usually feminized seed is made from regular seed stock when available, and I would be surprised if this was not the case here.
