my ak 47 is around 60 days ready but i have some pheno that took more like 75 days. most seedbank tells that it can finish in 47 days its possible ... if you grow commercial

I've never in my life heard that, and I'm certain it isn't true, as Serious Seeds is the breeder and they say 56-63 days . . .

im a little pissed about my K2, 1 of 10 seeds popped and it was a X-Man, but on another note i was pissed with my Johnny blaze, 1 of 20 popped, until it turnd out a chick, and she was awesome for tha 11 harvests she lasted, but that crystal 0 fa 10 so infuriated, words just dont do justice in relation to an explaination of my disenchantment... my nevilles haze didnt do great either but it was my first soil grow so i blame me for that.... mazar wasnt what i expected, i was kinda disappointed in the production and the effect was kinda weak(maybe that was just my experience)... but i aint hatin just sayin it wasnt what i wanted it to be... good day all

Strictly from a business aspect:

Dp and Greenhouse are the industry leaders and dominate every other breeder and company in every single catergory. Their innovations have set the standards for all cannabis seed companies. They've shaped and controlled the commercial seed market with fem development and research, leaving less competent companies such as sensi, serious and paradise to play catch up and to try and mimic their innovation.

Nirvana has consistently provided downward pressure on the seed market and perhaps the most important of all seed companies because so many disabled and sick users cant afford the high prices that the more egotistical and capitalistic breeders want to charge.. Thank goodness gypsy has placed his priority in getting the seeds out rather than trying to retire on a pack of seeds.

Waaaahhh? :dunno:

Sorry Serious and Paradise don't need to play catchup cause they produce a quality product. How many people out there love their AK47 or White Russian.... I don't hear a lot of good things about Greenhouse and IMHO Dutch Passion has tired, 20 year old genetics that aren't doing it anymore (not to mention a bunch of them Hermi).

Yeah man....its about getting as many peeps growing as is possible, so they don't have to go thru the risky avenues of shady deals for potentially sub-par product with all the associated risks.....no matter if we gift them seeds to grow or sell them at lower prices.....

...Once growers get learned-up and confident about their situation you usually find that they will order the higher end varieties although these don't always proove to be the best buys as we have seen.......

I am finding that what were the industry leaders from Holland .....are now being trumped by many new and up and coming breeders from other countries because it seems like many of the more established breeders are not maintaining consistency in their product...... are sitting back on their laurels and are suffering from the bad publicity that this brings on........it's as if many of them are relying on their past good reputations but are not putting much effort into keeping their seed-stocks viable and true to description.....

What I have been doing over the past decade + is to be breeding more breeders from good growers, supporting them and now we are seeing alot of the fruits from their labours coming to the fore in many a garden......so creating many more happy growers....

Hey poeple. Dont get pissed at me and say Im a newby grower etc. I gotta say though I bought clones off a mate of Hawaiian Skunk and I was very dissapointed. So were three of my mates who are experienced men.

The buds were very very VERY fluffy and never really filled out no matter how long they were left. The buds had a non existant high. Litle or no smell or taste.

Didnt matter how it was grown, how long it was grown, how it was dried, etc etc. It was shit! However it was a F1 cross apparently so I'd expect a bit of variation between geneotypes.

i understand the motivation for this thread folks. i even think the aim of the thread is good and useful. but the problem is that it's not so easy to make a fair unbiassed judgment on a strain, until you really have grown it inside and out and to be really objective you need to go through three packs of seeds. because there are different phenos and you never know where the perfect representation of that strain might be hiding. most strains get you a keeper in one pack, but it's by no means certain.

then we have the fact that quite a few aspect are subjective and just depend on preference. i have grown NorthernLights that was a totally nice strain. average yielder, but great trich coverage and taste. at a later date i got more NL clones in, this time they grew totally different much bigger yield, but less trichomes and totally bland and tasteless with no real hit to speak of. same thing has happened with Skunk Haze, first time i got her, she was the best, real memorable. so i got her again and got the biggest disappointment ever, the stuff was hardly smokable it was so harsh.

so i guess i'm trying to say, to really know about something, you sometimes have to try it out yourself. all the things that have been said about the same strain looking different depending on how it was grown is also a part of it. once you find some thing special be sure to hold on to it, lol.

SourDieselv3, days from being cut. can't wait to try her and her sister phenos lol...

And remember that u r getting older so once u might as a newbie feel something with this or that strain but u might feel totally different things ten years after smoking some killer strain

Since the mid 1990’s “AK” strains have been increasingly popular. Our Pure AK is one of the strongest early finishing strains available anywhere. Pure AK produces hard buds with an exceptional penetrating aroma. Pure AK is an indica/sativa hybrid yet it retains most of its sativa qualities in its high. Pure AK finishes in as early as 48 days if conditions are perfect..
Extremely STRONG odour and smoke. An occasional leaf mutation can occur, but this is familiar with this strain.

Like he says from a strictly business point of view he's spot on. Everyone else is following their business model because they have to and they did spot the (business) potential of the fem market before most other seed sellers.

I think one of the main reasons so many of their strains get bad write ups (apart from their capitalist corner cutting which leads to popor breeding practice) is the fact that due to their marketing dominance (ie they spend more money than anyone else on advertising) it's almost always new growers who buy and grow out their strains. New growers get poor results due to lack of experience and come online complaining about the seed co. Then there's expereienced growers remembering their worst grows which inevitably would be from one of those guys. My 1st grow was DP white widow and blueberry nearly 10 years ago and was pretty shit, probably because I had no idea what i was doing. The amount of people complaining about germ rates as if that's only down to the genetics is testament to that i think.

Saying that I wouldn't waste my money on them these days, no chance.

This isn't the breeder or the description for AK-47, it's some knockoff that a company is marketing to people who think cannabis can flower in 48 days. It's also pure propaganda. Show me a strain done in 48 days and i'll show you a strain that should have gone longer.

I had an enrtire package of TH Seeds Skunk #1 turn out bad. Not ONE popped, although started in the same conditions as some Mandala's that did well.....all 10 popped.

i complained to TH Seeds but they said as I am in the USA they could do nothing about the package...defective, all of them. My seed seller, God bless him, made up for it with freebies on my next order but I will not buy TH Seeds stuff again on principle...Americans can buy the seeds but cannot get reimbursed if a problem happens because they do not bother with us...blah blah...excuses.

I mainly grow KC Brains, mandala and some Serious White Russian so no need for TH Seeds anway.

the fastest pheno i got needs at least 60 days of flowering.
i only said that they say on their site that it finish in 48 days.:joint:

of all the commercial strain i have tried (lots - maybe 30 stains) the most dis-appointing was The HOG by THSeeds. maybe because it was over hyped. i can see how there might be a killer pheno in there.....but myself and many others have had no luck finding it.

that and TODAYS NORTHERN LIGHTS IS NOTHING LIKE IT USED TO BE.

those were probably the only stains i have grown that didnt live up to the hype in any way shape or form.

p.s. i have to say that the haze i have grown LOOKS like ditch weed. it is the worst LOOKING weed i have grown - But IT"S GOOD. REAL GOOD. and i dont really care for the taste - it's OK :( , but not great. but the HAZE IS GOOD - REAL GOOD.

------------

also, i have had to do LOTS of sorting through F2's of my Blueberry cross. even backcrossing to Bluemoonshine there was lots of selection to do. dont get me wrong, they are good, but the mother was something special and the progeny have not been. the progeny are better than LOTS of weed, but the mother i found was...well, just better. (only about 100 seeds left to test - grown out about 200, and the four keepers were not better than the mother).

-------------

Oh Yeah, Dutch Passion i have tried several times to grow Dream Weaver - the plants that survived have been GOOD, but the seeds have SUCKED - HARD! 2 of 20 lived.

agreed paid big$$$ for the Hog and it all sucked nada nothing good
