ouch! I just started some sensi super skunk.... Hope mine turn out better
This is what I expected:
"This plant is especially developed for Skunk lovers. Skunks and their Afghani ancestors have been crossed for this one. Brush against this plant and the room becomes immediately filled with a powerful Skunk aroma. Despite the smell a very pleasant high with a little more body to it than the Skunk #1½. One of the winners of the 1990 High Times Harvest Festival where it clearly defeated Skunk #1½. Finishing date in greenhouse: mid-October. Yield in greenhouse: up to 500 gr."
My "expectation" of the odor was something like "a powerful Skunk aroma" which turned out to be a light fruity aroma.
I guess I should of realized "pleasant high" meant weak.
I grew this early on in my growing experience but out of the six Sensi Seed strains i grew this was the one I got rid of...
Although the indoor yield was above average and the outdoor yield was ok. I guess that was a pluse.
So I don't know.... This thread was titled "Your personal waste of time and space" and I gave my opinion of just that. Take it any way you want....

Lowrider sucks imo...
No matter what I do I cant find ANY potency from this line..
neat lil plant n all, but SO high priced for a plant ya cant clone,, cant get jack for yeild, and cant catch a buzz.......
IMO a "hype" strain. certianly anything this plant can put out, can easily be FAR surpassed by multitudes of other strains...

out of them all.. Lowrider was by far the biggest waste!
even the hybrids Ive tried are worthless.

Indoors:- There are many more potent strains with better yields that grow faster & almost as short in 12/12 flowering. Why waste bucks on 18 hrs a day electricity beats Me!
Outdoors You can grow one mega plant & keep it below 1 foot tall using the stakeing method. (In most necks of the wood - 1 plant is better than more according to the law)

Reefermans blueberry sativaulled at 9 weeks flowering due to no white hairs ever,only strage withered hairs.hard to describe but was definately strange. however, reef and luci and stand up guys and more than made up for it with a pack of reefs sour diesel and Ag13 x Burmese. will never use anyone but reef from now on.

i know its not what the topic is about, but since so much talk of shitty freebies, i will say that seedbay did me right with some solid very berry surprise beans. i was so skeptical due to name and source as freebie, that i said uff it cause i had SD to work with anyways. ended up germing 2 at behest of my partner, and sho' nuff, they turned out to be killer. ended up germing the rest next round and kept cuts of a particular purple pheno (i got 3 purple phenos and 1 mutant out of 8 germed beans - NOT BAD) and hey the smoke was decent too.. so props for the good work orgnkid, and I'm sorry you got ridiculed so bad for it too..

suge nites og x nl/lep was a serious waste of time for me...it amazes me to see heads bid so high on the suge s1 beans cuz they are kinda old now, and suge has admitted to makin those seeds from not the greatest of cuts from the strains....for instance, if i remember right, he said that he now has a cut of og that is way better than the one he used to make the beans....meaning, prolly wont get that dank lemon piinesol smell and taste that you are lookin for....the ones i grew were pm magnets and poor quality with bad bud to leaf ratio...i did only run a few, so not a good representation of the variety by any means...but compared to everything else flowerin at the time...the variety was a dud..

I read this thread from start to finish only to find out there's a year and a couple months of no posts. The best info I could get out of it was that 1-2 years ago KC had bad beans, and the freebies sucked. Also many sellers/breeders have sold or distributed poor quality seed.
Now I spent 3 hours researching beans tonight not including this thread, and now I'm up in the air. Do I get some seeds or just live and be happy with the seeds I produced from a few bag seed? So far every seed I produced has germinated, were female and the ones that survived my over watering look great and are flowering nicely.
This may change because I started 6 more plants about 36 hours ago and will find out in a few days whether the germ rate is still 100% and another month or so to find out if I'm still getting all females.
For future reference, since I haven;t bought seeds, start another "Waste of Time Thread for 2007 and only include the disappointments in 2007. Then on 1-1-08 you can start a new thread for 2008.
In conclusion this thread is a waste because it talks about seeds and grows from 2005 and early 2006. Still it's a good idea, just the info is now outdated. Of course the dealers may still be selling seeds from the same stock and the thread remains relevant 2 years after the fact.
To any seed producers and sellers that might be reading along, it might be a better idea to sell seeds that are less than 1 year old. Maybe the freshness of the seeds has something to do with the bad germ rates. And you'll be able to add "FRESH" to the description to spark better sales rates.
I still want to order seeds, just don;t know from who or when. Maybe later this year.

I wanted to chime in with an idea.
When you guys get a few males, you should move them to a new area and grow them out to collect the pollen instead of culling them and taking the loss. you would them use the collected pollen to cross with a female and collect the seeds.
Nothing I'm saying can excuse the seed dealer or breeder from selling or producing poor quality seeds.
I know I've read several places that over time the quality of a strain can decrease through inbreeding, and that a grower can increase the quality by introducing new genes. So when growing two different sets of poor genetic you paid good money for, you can cross them and increase the quality.
Yes you are doing the breeders work that you paid him to do before you bought his product, when you purchase his seeds, but on their side, retail sales is about income, not genetics.
It's up to the breeder to share the fresh good stuff with the public. It wouldn't be surprising to find out that some breeders are selling seeds that are not stable, or have been so inbred the that the quality is on it's last leg and you got stuck with it.
Just my thoughts on the subject.
