One very sad fact from this story is the fact that the girl who got killed was so weak and timid that she gave up her stash just because a cop asked her!! She had already been busted before, and a pig stopped her just to quiz her; he had NO grounds and she should and could have said:" Officer, my attorney advised me to never speak without him/her there". Period. What did she do when the cop, sitting on his fat ass in a squad car, asked her: " Do you have any drugs right now?"?
She said: " Yes, in my apartment"...and that led her to be in so deep that she decided to rat. It was her second offense..and she had about a half pound of herb...she allowed the cops into her apartment and gave up the weed VOLUNTARILY!!
Had she known and used her rights...she would no doubt be free today. And alive.
All she had to do was refuse to answer questions by a cop. i NEVER answer any questions, and let them know why. If a cop asks: " Where are you heading today?" just say ; " I never answer questions without my attorney, I suggest you contact him if you have any questions whatsoever".
Or anything that gets the point across. As long as you end up in control, you are doing the right thing. Cops think they are in control, and to a degree they are; physically they are in control, or at least they can legally make a claim to...but aws far as questioning is concerned, WE are in charge.
Cops are left dangling and confused when a citizen stands firm...not impolite..not screaming, not upset..just calmly confident and in no way willing to give consent for any search, or to answer any questions. After you take that away from them, all they have left is to either violate your rights, which gives you cause for remedy, or they go away and look for easier pickings.
Most cops know that the vast majority of the people are intimidated and scared of them, and they use this to their advantage. They ask quations such as your destination and such not because they care, but because they want you conditioned to continue answering them. Also, they can quiz others in your immediate area or car and see if their stories are the same as yours; any difference will leqad to some thug pig saying that it gave him grounds to go further because the stories don't match.
NOTHING GOOD can come from answering ANY questions put to you by a pig. ONLY trouble can come from it. Now, some people wil say that this is all good and fine in theory, but when you are staring down a fat, sweating, ugly pig on the side of the highway it doesn't work. NONSENSE!! it DOES work, because all charges have to end up in a court, and you will get your chance. Most times a cop does NOT want to have a defense attorney asking embarrassing questions and exposing the pigs obvious illegal actions. Too many times and the pig loses credibility in court, and that means he is useless to the force.
Grow a pair!! Stand up and withouit being obnoxious, just let them know that you will NOT disregard your attorneys advice. No cop is going to badger someone too long who is saying nothing but ' lawyer'. They will go get some other, weaker, poor slob who will give in and allow consent...who will answer questions..who will get busted..never talk.

It was the police who thought these guys were big into the crack game, but in reality they were just jackers. The police created this whole thing. By giving the chick the mentality that the deal was going to go a certain way (to plan) they culpably involved her and gave her the ability to make the deal by giving her cash. Without total police coercion, this account does NOT happen. I think the police are guilty for 1) creating a buyer 2) creating a seller 3)setting up a bogus deal they thought would net them an easy high profile bust.
I don't sympathize with snitches, but I personally believe she was molded into a snitch by being fed inclusions of her role to a false magnitude. These boobs unwittingly set her up with a certain death sentence. She has paid ultimately for her decisions. I think the police should too.

Word... At the end of the day she was a fucking snitch and she chose to work with law enforcement. She could have gotten a couple years probation but instead she chose to try to ruin someone elses life instead.

As for this topic, there's a very simple reason I told him that. His comment was absolutely disgusting. It was no different than the post below yours. This repulsive idea that she somehow deserved to die for "snitching". Of course it's wrong to punish others in order to save yourself. However, she was a young girl who was probably terrified and under intense pressure from the police. There are strong, grown men who break underneath that pressure so her decision is totally understandable. And regardless of whether or not that is wrong, it's cruel and insane to imply that she deserves to die for it.
I have anger towards people that report neighbors for growing or work with the police to save themselves. But this whole "stop snitching" bullshit goes way too far. When a young girl dies in this way she deserves sympathy, not hatred because of some dumbass rap motto.

Sure she didn't quite think things through, but this tragedy is all the LEO's fault. On top of knowing the risks involved and what could potentially happen to an informant, they pressured this young woman (who clearly isn't the sharpest tool in the shed) to be a snitch. I can only think of one possible outcome for a scenario like this, and guess what? It played out just as I imagined it would.

Anybody who works to sell someone else out to save their own ass is asking for the karma fairy to come bite them in the ass. Yes, it's absolutely a shame this woman died and I blame the cops much moreso than her but you can NOT act like someone put a gun to her head and made her work for the cops and was therefore an innocent victim in this whole thing. LilWayne's statement was simple. If she wasn't snitching then she would still be alive. That statement is 100% correct and logical on it's face. Not snitching=not dead. Pretty simple.
She deserves sympathy. She doesn't deserve complete absolution for her participation in the actions that got her killed, however. Do you believe in karma anyany? You better. She should have too. She would still be alive now if she did. Her case would have been long over by now and her life would have gone on with only minor disruption. She chose to snitch. The cop's actions after that decision is what led to her death, but it wouldn't have happened if she just sacked up and handled her case. There are consequences to choices. You liberals seem to have completely forgotten the notion of "personal responsibility" and act on emotion alone. No one is ever at fault for the choices they make, right? It's always someone else's fault....

I never said she was innocent. However, as I explained her actions were completely understandable and she did not deserve to die for what she did. If you don't know the difference between the terms 'justifiable' and 'understandable' then I suggest you look them up.

I think at the root of this story, is Florida's ridiculous cannabis laws, more than 20 grams is felony possesion.
I see it everyday in the local news websites they are full of people arrested for possesion of cannabis

this shit is infuriating. happens all the time...just saw on some cop show the detective was trying to scare this girl "your gonna get 5 years minimum blah blah blah unless you flip"....fuck cops. im just gonna smile and ask for my lawyer. alot of people just have no idea how the system works and how to fight it...they THINK they cops are actually trying to help them or even have the power to help. they dont realize that cops are just pawns there trying to collect info to pass along to the prosecuters, they are just the first problem. the main problem is dealing with the courts, DA, evidence, etc. Lawyer up, DONT SAY SHIT, and pray that the DA will plea bargain on lack of evidence.
