A couple black bears stopped by last night to try and break into the mostly secure trash can.
It’s got a couple two inch ratchet straps to keep the top on but if it’s flipped and rolled enough they can pull a little through some cracks.
It’s not the biggest trash can, about medium size, but makes a loud sound when it hits the concrete sidewalk, letting you know what’s up. Usually it gets dragged downhill, this time uphill between the cars in the driveway so the bears were not easily seen.
About 10pm, got a spotlight and went to get a better look, saw a good sized 700 + lb momma bear and one cub that looked 40-50 lbs at most.
Headed back to doorway after seeing the cub with momma, and they kind of took their time heading back to where they came from and didn’t return last night.
