Thoughts & Update: 3/28/12

Thoughts & Update: 3/28/12

Update: 3/28/12
:smoker:

In the last couple of days.I have put all the lady's into flowering cycle 12/12 and taken out the veg area.
Tonight I will change most 2700k bulbs to 6500k bulbs something like 10-12 (26w cfl ) bulbs

I picked up some Sunleaves jamaican bat guano 1-10-1

For the late flowering Lady's:

Per Gal. Added: 2 1/2 TBSP Guano -Soaking 48 hours-Then-
1/4 tbs M.O.A.B
1/2 tsp Hydroplex Bloom maximizer
1/8 cup Molasses

I will check pH before I use. I like it at 6.5-ish..

For the Early flower Lady's:

1 1/2 TBSP Guano -48 hour soak-
1/8 tbs M.O.A.B
1/2 tsp Hydroplex Bloom maximizer
1/8 cup Molasses

I am just taking a best guess as to what to add. If anyone has a thought. Feel free to share...

Update on the Lady's.

GK 2.

Looking good and getting better. I let her just free grow.
Not topping or training just watered and defoliated at about 4-5 week flowering to open other bud sites.
This might have been the cause in the slow growth since( to be exspected) yet over the last couple days
she has been picking back up.
I am hoping after feeding with Guano and Molasses one more time lol
She will finish and I can flush her for her cut...

Thought's:

I dont think I want to just chop the whole plant at one time.
I have been reading about how much more one can pull if taken as the
Nugs rippen.
Since, no plant rippens all it's fruit at the same time it makes sence to be more selective.

SSH 1.

When she started flowering she flew to like 5' in just couple weeks and I had topped her.
She was going great and looking hot. Then spider mites and sprays and a little heat.
She was not so hot, yet shes strong and came right back to life and is looking good.
Hope the yeald starts to show up the next couple weeks.
SSH is supposed to be hardy and takes nuits well. So Im going to up her feeding just a hair.

SourD 1.

Same as SSH1 but took the bigger hit from Spider mites. She will be ok and is coming back to life as well.
Her yeald is looking good so far and her bud tips have this awesome dark red to it.(Hot) ...

GK 3.

Going good. Buds are popping and forming. Free grow-Nothing but water and lite.
Flowered while short maybe 8-9 inches tall. Stayed semi short 24-30 inches
Lite feeding as she is easy to fry.
Thinking I might not touch her at all (no defoliating) to see how she compaires to GK2

SCROG.

Started with 2 containers each having 5 plants.
Early on 1 of 3 GK died ( was always a weak clone one of my 1st)
when I fed the SCROG Nuits, the last Gk started to fry also from my 1st or 2nd clone try.
Then I sprayed for mites and that was that. No more GK in the SCROG

container one:
I now have 3 x SSH & 2 x Sour D Though they all look the same now

container two:
I now have 2 x SSH

All are at the net and 3 are well into the net.

Thinking I should top the taller ladys.
I have been able to keep all growth under the net so far and I am leading the main branch
towards the corner and then along the sides hoping to 100% fill bottom of the net
then run back across the top.lol
Not really sure why, just sounds like a good thing to do.

The plan:

Both containers side by side
as the many Colas start to form and grow upward.
I will take all the growth along the side and use bamboo poles to lead outward
and let all growth in the center grow strait up.

By the time the SCROG get to this point
all the other Lady's from my 1st wave should be cut and drying.

They will have the center of the room and will have a chit load of light on top.

I know this net wont hold up so I'm not sure what I will do once they really get going.
Thinking bamboo poles. I got to keep reading I guess...lol

2 Training SSH in 5 gal buckets:

Growing fast and taking the training well.
These are the clones I took from the top cut of SSH1 after flowering.
Used the domes she still rooted fast and wanted to flower but gave up and veg a little.
Now there in buckets and back into flower cycle.
Loving SSH...

2 GK in cups.

1 is growing slow yet coming along.

The other little one
is a freak of nature and not sure what it will do.
thinking nothing. wont grow wont die. just is.

Thinking I will bonsai the one growing and put outside for the summer as a mother for later.

The freak will stay in the flower room and have to decide what it wants to do.
I have read a few stories of hard stressed plants that survive
have been known to explode like never before or again.
dare to dream the green dream...

6 x SSH Clones.

I am tempted to try and toss 2 into the SCROG and hope they grow in time to get enough lite.
I might just toss in 1 gal grow bags with bottom cut out and place in the empty side of
Container 2 as to raise into net while still short. Let root grow down bag into container.

The other 4
I plan to Bonsai outdoors over summer as mothers.

Seed Grow. Bag seed Male- 1 SSH Fem - 1 GK Fem.

Bag seed male.
Fat and pumping out tons of pollen. Looking like seeds are starting. growing fast.

SSH. Flowering nice into week 2 and covered by pollen. She stretched and I top cut to keep same size as bag boy.

GK. Short and flowering. so far so good.
I really need start training the SSH in the next couple days.

Final Thought. :plant grow:
For my first try at growing I'm happy so far.
I am learning what I need to know little by little and feel I have dodged bullets thanks to all
the fellow growers . The DIY,journals and incites people have shared are
a time saver for sure.
The fact that you can start out and save journals over the years (look back and go through the different grows)should prove to be worth the time it takes type all this chit.

So far I have a long way to go to get this first 2 waves done and smoked and I don't count Chic's before they hatch.
What I have seen and the Pic's I have are worth the effort so far and this is just the beginning for me so
I think I will chill here and go check the Lady's...

:smokey: Yep,puff,puff,pass :smoweed:

Quick Update 3-30-12 :

Quick Update 3-30-12 :

SSH 1
is doing better but still looking stressed. She is growing slow but big fat buds. Im hoping she fills in more.
If she does she will be monster for cfl. Fingers crossed, knocking on wood.

The SSH in SCROG
have taken off and filling net fast. Will need trimming a little tonight.

The SSH Seed
is showing seeds now and looking fat.
Top cut 2 weeks ago and just started training today.

Stoked to be getting GK and SSH seeds.

The bag seed looks into the 100's filled.
just a fat thang she is.

3-31-12
Picked Up some garlic and have it around the room. Ill make a little spray tomorrow.
Figure Home Depot for Marigold's. My Bonsai yard is coming to life as well and figured I would throw a few
out there.
SSH seeds are popping and the Lady's seem to be OK. Tripping a little tho as you will see in the Pictures coming up.

I decided to water lite with just guano and water and have made
6 gallons with:

2 1/2 TBSP Guano 1-10-1
1/4 tbs M.O.A.B
1/4 tsp Hydroplex Bloom maximizer
1/8 cup Molasses
2 TBSP Epsom salt
-Soaking 48 hours-

Side Note: GK is way over watered and that is why she looks like she does. Found Lots of great info on her.

Thanks for looken.

Thoughts & Thinking 3-31-12

Thoughts & Thinking 3-31-12

Call me stoked...
I have been so lucky so far. Beyond what the ladys are doing for me (geting fat and stick) I have learned so much without any huge problems.Knocking on wood, always.

If I were to do just one fat tall SourD or SSH I
would only need 1 x 65w and 6 x 26w with the
right kind of hood to get the same results.
A hole in the top of hood with
a small fan over it would be all that's needed for heat i believe.
This is something I'm working on in my head. Tho I think I would do it with Hydro if only one plant at a time.

I have a feeling SCROG will be the real chiz-nik for quality CFL quantity grows ...
Looks like well find out soon.
I have a really good feeling about this 2nd wave.

So glad I'm doing this journal tho, no way i would remember all the little details with all the different types of
grow I'm doing at once... Well medicated the whole way as well.:smoker:

By the way I picked up some marigolds today.

I am getting ready to set up my Bonsai trees and was thinking of cloning the marigolds for the arrangements I'm going to set up.
:watchplant:

If I do this right. No one will even know they are pot plants as I plan on having them out in the open
with my others trees for the summer.

Sometimes it is about balancing fun vs quantity. I already have a job
:beat-dead
No way I was going to create another one.
:smokeit:

I got really lucky and got a sweet teen and clone cut from a Dispensary: $20 for both.. I know right...
I almost walked out without asking what she was.

I have looked around and There are no more Grape Krush seed available. That I can find.
Somehow the mother and pops were lost and the banks ran out.
again{ I know right-- By the way I hate that saying...I know}

They were going for the high end $188 for 10 seeds.

I don't know how pure she is but she looks 100% Grape Krush as far as Pictures go.

I will have seeds but she was pollinated with a bag seed sativa.
I think that will be a hybrid right ? Do I get to name it I wonder? Humm..
I will have to look into it when I have some seeds in hand...

Guess It would be a Grape Krush x sativa bagseed strain.
:plant grow:

Who knows:

Who knows:

From what I have read and looked at ( which is a lot )

There is Grape Kush Great strain- lots of seed's avail.
Then Grape Crush Another Great strain- lots of seed's avail.

Then there is mine Grape Krush the original great strain.Nope on seeds.
I say this because the dude that I got it from took a 5 days to get it and when I picked them up
After asking what they were and a few jokes he laid out this
Long story - which I remember because of the look in his eye- about how this is GK not a crush/Kush
How Dj short s the bomb grower and I was so lucky to get these and so on. the thing is I had already paid for them
so I tend to believe him after looking at pics over the last few months.
Guess theres no way to really tell since I cant seem to grow her right any ways. Not yet at least.
I have a site the DJ seems to post on from time to time so I will post on there and see If I can get better answers.

Chances are I'm wrong about strain but that's what I'm going with till someone who knows can fill me in...
Please if anyone knows. Feel free to speak up.

SSH clones placed in dirt x6 4-1-12

SSH clones placed in dirt x6 4-1-12

Super silver haze Clones.
Well rooted and placed in dirt.
Top cups put back on for a few days to help root growth.
I take hoods off each day for a few and change water and mist. Hood off a little longer
each day for 3-7 days seems to get em going real good...

My soil mix I believe is getting better and I really like the way this mix felt, smelt and
looked.
These are going to fun to bonsai, going to try a couple different things with them as I go.

Hoping to end up with at least one long term mom.
talking years.
things on the list - of things to do
