The first two leaves are the carbohydrate fuel to make the first true leaves and roots. Their job is to give up their all.

A two-week-old sprout should be bigger than that. Here is a two-week-old sprout in Ocean Forest potting mix using rainwater only.

The plant above is stalled and having issues with your watering technic. IF you start your seed in dixie cups you can better manage the water intake. The cups can be weighed wet and dry to give the plant just the right amount of water it needs. I write the dry weight on the top of the cup and the wet weight and watch how much water the plant uses. When the cups almost dry out I add just enough water to fill the cup without any run-off. No downtime using this method and success every time.. 😎

Yeah the plant is not overly happy. You want a light fluffy compost without sticks and stones. I went through at least 25 types to find two I could use. If like me, you don't like ordering hundreds of kilos of compost online each year, you'll have to go through a bunch of the stuff at your local garden centre before you find the perfect stuff. Then if you're like me, they'll sell out lol. That's why it's best to find a back up brand too. Trial and error I'm afraid. Good luck.
