Yayyy! My first colloidal silver generator (photo)

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it is. I've only done it once, but I'm pretty sure I stopped spraying once I saw them. Once its male, its male. I imagine its the same as a regular bud, it just needs a bit of time to ripen.
I remember even after I pulled the plant and it was shrivelled up and dying unopened balls were opening up and pollen kept pouring out.

Saying all this, I've you've got some collloidal left, it won't hurt to keep spraying for a few days. The plant keeps growing and producing halls for quite a long time, its not a one off thing.

Just cut them down, grind the male flowers up and pollinate the females. Job done.

ok so i have a white erkle bred by SMF that reaks of cherry cream soda and purples like nobodies business.. i asked a relative to buy me some collodial silver, they came back with this
http://www.amazon.com/Colloidal-Silver-Hydrosol-Spray-10ppm/dp/B000EBRKHG
so on the back it says that the particles are small (8 nanometers) and that this helps absorption into the body by being so small, and that it is equivalent to some other brands 500 ppm products even though theres is only 10 ppm, i read about 20 pages in but couldnt keep it up so i thought id just post. will this be strong enough? and also my plant is already in flower. about two weeks. will it even produce viable pollen if its even strong enough? i have a pure silver quarter from 1934 & a 9.5 volt battery charger im setting up at the moment as well but would really just prefer to use the already made spray and save the experimenting for the next project as time is of the essence and i dont have a car to just go to the store whenever i want and buy alligator clips. if anyone could get back to me thatd be awesome. dank you very much

what i was trying to say with the 8 nanometer thing was will this be more effective than homemade CS since its smaller and will be easily absorbed by the plant?

Hello,

I have made some CS spray and have managed to get somew female plants growing balls, but they don't seem to have any pollen in them?
The bananas that pop out seem moist and soft rather than dry with pollen in them?
It is happening with 2 different strains.
Is this a common occurance, or might i have done something wrong?

Thanks for any input.

aiming for a solution that's at least 30ppm or more - it seems that with weaker solutions we can end up with male flowers that have little or no viable pollen?

Thanks Jaymer,

I have no clue what the ppm i made is but i let it go for 48 hours rather than the 12 recommended. :)

I 'think' i wasn't being thorough enough with my soakings as i was trying to stretch out the solution i made, which i think might be a mistake...

Trying this now, on a small clone named #3. Which is 14 inches and the second biggest. Been spraying twice a day since the 5th. The first week of flowering started this week. I'll be letting this plant go until it dies, so I for sure get good male pollen.

I have chosen clone #1, which is the biggest for pollination. 27inches now. Is just starting flowering this week. She'll be going until I have ripe seeds.

Thanks Jaymer,

I have had the same problem once or twice, at the moment i'm again hoping that at least some pollen has been released. But it looks like empty male flowers so far.

I make the same CS every time, same amount of water, same powersuply, same time (11 hours) and even (almost) the same distance between the silver plates.

Realy weird. Most of the time i have an enormous amount of seeds, but some just don't seem to work the way it should. Could it be that some strains need a different ppm then others?

I'm now strugling with a Lowryder#2. Two years ago i did the same strain with much better results....

Female plants sprayed with CS are unsafe to smoke, understood. But what about the plants you use the feminized pollen on? Is the pollen tainted with silver and thus the bud you've pollinated?

Because it's been reiterated time and time again throughout the thread and for no other reason that simple precaution. You're spraying a plant with silver solution, and that solution blocks ethylene production, which suggests to me that the silver is being absorbed to some extent. Smoking silver doesn't seem to be the wisest thing I could choose to spend my day doing, but then again they do sell silver screens for pipes.

Post #1:
It also goes without saying that once you've sprayed a plant with colloidal silver (or silver theosulphate, or gibberellic acid, etc) the plant becomes a write-off in terms of smoking it. It can be used to create feminised pollen, as well as seeds (it can still be pollinated - see next question), but you should not smoke any of it. Even a thorough wash with a hose won't help, because the silver microparticles are absorbed into the plant via the foliar feeding.

I just got my cs gen all hooked up and running.

Total investment of $3.80 for 4 alligator clips and $1 for a gallon of distilled water.

I had the TDS meter, silver coins and power adapter already.

Using a 12v 500mA adapter.

Might swap it for my 12v 2A adapter if its not powerful enough to get the PPM up where I want it.

Checked PPM it is at 0-1PPM starting will check it again in a few hours.

Nice. What kind of coins are you using, 1 oz. silver eagles or something? Because you know the silver has to be pure (.999), right?

Let us know what kind of ppm's you end up with. I'm itching to do this myself.

They are old US quarters pre 65.

I just read they are only 90% pure silver so damn I guess I need some purer silver. I thought they were fine for some reason. :(

Thanks for the heads up

In my opinion, this is a myth, just as ungrounded as the photosensitivity of silver colloidal solution.

I'm fine with that opinion, but I'd like to see some science behind it. I don't have any studies to show it is dangerous, but erring on the side of caution can only lead me to assume so. It's silver being sprayed onto something which is then combusted and inhaled. I'm open to being proven wrong; it would be nice to know that CS is that safe.

You can get silver wire which works fine from Amazon. Or maybe a jeweler near you can sell you a couple inches of .999 jewelry wire.
Good luck.
