wtfn's 4000w legal medical soil food web organic grow show

Just found out I'll be getting the rest of the money for this project at work sometime immediately before my $1700 electric bill is due, which loosens up my harvest time a little. I'm thinking the SSDs are going to enjoy a little extra time, although they look potent, plump and rock hard as it is. I wouldn't mind maxing out my weight this round either. Things are getting exciting!

Day 56

Update time!!

It's been a week since I cranked the a/c down on them and they're definitely starting to show some signs of N def now. I'd say it looks like they've got about 7 - 11 days left to go. I'm feeling pretty antsy, getting myself psyched up for this harvest. Gon' be a biggun!

I've taken a few small buds of the Blue Bubba. Great nighttime smoke, really rings your bell, sort of like an LA con, although the flavor isn't anywhere close to what I'd expect, even from a 2-day dry. Maybe a good cure will bring it out.

All in all everything's looking just like it should. Hoping to slide on in to home base for the next update. Enjoy the nug porn!

Lookin' good wtfn! Looks like you might be stuck trimming for an hour or two

What do you attribute this funky leaf to?

Well, after thinking about it for two weeks, last weekend I took notes on the oatmeal/ewc/fungus gimmick, .. and THIS weekend, I MIGHT actually get it goin'.

hey whythefnot, this is a great garden. :) i love that super silver dream flower close-up in the last update... lovely resin texture. :good: yeah, it looks like you are going to have a long & hard trimming session! :D

This is one of taller tops that was directly under the lights. They seemed to suffer some slowly-accumulated hotspotting before I raised the lights all the way up, but there's still a big question mark surrounding it. Most of the tall tops directly under the lights did this to some degree. It happened around week 5, and as far as I can tell hasn't been a problem since, although the damage has sort of "run its course."

The other thing I can possibly see is that my humidifier might have malfunctioned and I just didn't realize, causing a little vpd at the tops, but I never saw any mechanical sign of that, just the plant stress. Also, it actually DID get turned off for a day accidentally, it didn't seem to cause any problems, and humidity didn't drop below 50%, making that answer much less probable. Hopefully it won't happen again, but if it does, I'll need to do some seriously soul-searching. I've spent a lot of hours trying to figure out exactly what's causing that, and only turned up the half-assed answer you got here.

Also, it might be linked to overwatering, but the timing might suggest otherwise. IDFK.

Thats Nute Burn sir.

Its not from the chlorophyll burning from a hot spot. the leaf would be white and only leaf blades would be effected not the entire leaf in the same pattern.

You can tell its nute burn cause the tips curl up and inward and are crispy like a fall leaf and they break off getting chips n pieces on the nugs :(

If you aren't flushing - its time to flush.

I know it really looks like nute burn, but I'm pretty sure it's not (or at least not the only contributing factor). This same thing happened last time to a much greater extent and I wasn't feeding them at all. There is some light nute burn there as well (you can see it on the big fan leaves) but that was a separate incident from the tops burning, and the symptoms showed at different times (nute burn happened quickly, in a day or two, affected the entire plant -- this issue took about 3 weeks to fully develop, and only affected the tops in the center of each 4x4 square, directly under the light). Last round, the problems had everything to do with low humidity.

This round, despite having installed a humidifier, I still think it is likely to be a humidity issue, and probably due to lack of adequate airflow, which is getting fixed very soon. Wherever I hang the controller, and whatever setting I leave my humidistat on, the room is always about 25% less.. I brought this issue up when I first bought the humidistat and never fully solved it, since it seemed to work fine after exposing it to 100% RH for a while. Fast forward two months, and I might have some tweaking to do still. Idfk.

But yes, I've been giving them only water for a while now. Thanks for the input.

dam i moved all my old photos onto the portable and i deleted my first album lol

Your photos are deceiving if you are going to talk about light burn because you only show an example of nute burn besides the possible curled inward leaves I was referring too at hte top of hte cola being the crispy leaves burnt up.

Do you have fans up with good circulation on the canopy?

I don't actually think it's light burn, either, since my lights weren't very close, like, ever. I think it's an issue with humidity getting too low directly under the lights, which would require more airflow as a fix.

I have 5 fans in the room, two of them oscillate, and the other 3 are regular box fans. But it's a hodge-podge of what I could get my hands on for cheap or free at the time. You're 100% right that I gave them some nute burn, and I'll certainly slack off next time; I'm just trying to clarify that there is still an environmental issue I need to hammer out -- a ghost somewhere in the machine.

At week 9, day 1, these Blue Bubbas are just now really packing on the frost. Gonna let them go to week 10. SSDs are a 10 - 10.5 week strain anyway. I had to chop a little bit last week to keep the electric company off my butt. What looked like it would be 4 - 6 oz was 5.25oz, so it's plenty dense, and it's sampling very nicely. And since I know I can estimate yield pretty accurately here, I'm going to project I get about 6.5lb this run, maybe a little more. I'll know for sure in a little over a week. I'll be happy with anything over 5, but 7 is looking pretty reasonable.

Ugh, that Blue Bubba is strong!! That's all I've been smoking (besides oil and kief) for almost 3 weeks now and what I harvested at week 8 day 2 still knocks me on my ass and I have to put it down after the second hit. Real undertow kind of high, great nighttime weed.

Hey waitsa gull durned minute thur

Pardon my lack of attention (too poor), but didn't you mention a few pages back that you culled her from the garden? (For undesirable-ness, I fingered?)

Please tell me she lives in somewhere, so's she can live to flower another day? :D

Glad to hear all is well dude! And I'm with the rest of the gang - KEWL PICS PLZ

Good catch. I kept a clone or two (tho I - I'll take the blame here even though I really didn't - got them mixed up, and I probably have more than that) so once I figure out which ones are which I'll be able to revive her if I so choose at the time. I just didn't really like the lack of frostiness, but given a little more time she really packed it on much to my surprise. Very, very dense nugs too. Not a lot of flavor, but I haven't given her proper time to cure. Certainly nothing like the Blue Cheese or Purp Plat from last time, which tasted great right down to the last hit. This is more of a "well, that first hit tasted ok" kind of strain. I don't really like that, when I have so many seeds that will produce such flavorful buds. I don't really have a solid game plan ATM so we'll see how it plays out. Can't lose either way, I guess.

Ok, ok, I'll post some pics tonight. Sheesh. :dance013:

I'd love to let them go to a full 11 weeks, but I'm calling them ready in 2 more days at 10 weeks, with 95+% cloudy trichs and the rest opaque/translucent, not clear. No amber yet, anywhere in the room, but the hairs are orange as shit and the buds are getting the general "finished" appearance. Also, I have to pay rent and electric around the beginning of next month, and technically I don't have a job or income for at least the next few weeks until I get the word to start getting a new project off the ground, so my timeframe is of ultimate importance.

I had some SSDs fall over a few weeks back in the very back corner (you can sort of see it in all the full room pics -- that back right corner looks a little sparse, but there's a lot more back there than you can tell from the pic -- probably another 12+ oz). Rather than tie them all up individually, I just re-arranged them so they each get pretty good light, and I'm letting them grow all flopped over, like a sideways vertical setup, if that makes any sense. This is why I'm putting another layer of pvc. I'm not sure if I'm going to scrog it like _D and many others do -- at least not this round. I'm just going to grow my tall plants around the outside edge and let them flop over on the extra rail. See how that does...

Anyway, here are two shots of it for posterity's sake.

Anybody have any special techniques to help reduce pet hair/dust fibers in their room? Should I just oversize the fan on my big ass carbon filter? That's pretty high on my to-do list as it is.

Edit: I should mention, I keep a separate set of clothes for the room -- polyester stuff, doesn't really attract hairs, and I keep it hung up anyway.
