It's been a rough grow this time out. Being that i didn't do well with this one, I wasn't going to post pics or a thread at all figuring "great, my online buds will think I'm a true grow hack after seein this."
But, being that I have no shame, and ultimately know I can grow, just had a bad run, I figured what the hell, I'll post pics for public ridacule., so, here goes.....
My...
Well, '04 finished out and I was feelin good. I had some positive grow experiences, harvested some awesome buds. Near the end of the year, I started up a new grow with Grape Punch, LSD, and Sativa Mexicana.
They went into flower in December and all was going well until.. ONE BAD DAY!
Cook gets a new power strip and timer for the grow, stops in for a quick check o the plants, and even though there's not enough time before going to work, I start to rig up the new equipment. Well, in my rush I didn't get it all hooked up right, and boy did I pay.
The next day I went to see my girls, opened up the cab and AAAAAAAGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! Screamed like a girlscout in a haunted house!
OH NO!!!! Turns out that my failure to pay attention caused the heater to not be on in an unheated room, suckin cold air straight from the outside... on a night were it got to like 14 degrees F! That's right, cook experienced something that no indoor gardener should have to deal with...FREEZING!
So my poor girls took massive vegative loss, but weren't totally dead. Now I faced a big decision, do I dump it all and start over again, or nurse em back to health and make the most of it? Not one to abandon hope, I decided to stick it out. Many of the budsites, once damaged by frost did not continue to pack on buds, and were permanently damaged. Some of the other sites grew buds, but since I lost a couple weeks in the middle of flowering, they never got all that big. In the end, instead of getting a half pound from 4 plants as I hoped, I ended up with 3 plants yielding only a couple of ounces. So much for the immediate self sufficiency plan. Back to calling for unavailable or low quality commercial buds!
The sativa Mexicana was the biggest surprise of the 3, and did ok considering the circumstances. She harvests in a nother week or so.
Lesson learned, take your time, do it right, don't rush, or you'll $%*@#*$^ something up!
So, hear are just a couple photos of my truly horrible lookin girls. Feel free to point and laugh and call me names.
I'll keep tryin!
Here's my Grape Punch freak from the thread by that name....
and my poor stickly lookin LSD, oh I had such high hopes for her....
The Grape Punch produced the cutest little mini nugs on the lower branches after the freeze. Tight frosty lil nugs...
Like I say, soon I'll show more of the Sativa, but there is one nice nugshot
in my gallery (the bud in my hand shot). She is definitely sticky and stinky!!
So that's my worst grow ever. I suck! Right now I have clones of the SM and GP in the flower box. Expect better photos next time out
I'd like to thank my friends natty and MH for loanin me their camera becuase my grow wasn't all I bolloxed up. Killed my camera too
Peace, all.
