Worst Concert You've Ever Been To

Metallica early on in their crappy alternative phase. Circa 1998-99. They sucked, sounded bad, took a break, and came back out "unplugged". Left early.
Big Metallica fan, very dissapointed.

Tiesto. I'm sure he was having fun pushing buttons and twisting knobs but that concert made me feel like live music is dead and everyone is reduced to pretending they enjoy artificial music.

back in the late 70s, wanted to go see ZZ Top. They had this band I had never heard of called Kiss that opened for them. ZZ Top was good, but I would have paid twice to have skipped the opening act.

Worst was Rage Against the Machine in the late 90s. De la roca sounded like garbage. That show ended my listening to them..

Best was Neil Young at Pine Knob last year.. 69 years old and killing it.

Mrs dragged me to Kenny Rogers once - I wanted to jump from the 3rd level seats we had.
you shoulda chucked the old lady from those nosebleed seats.......

I scored four awesome seats to a James Taylor concert in '77, my brother, his very sexy girlfriend, my girlfriend & myself of course.

The highlight of the evening was when my brother's gf cornered me, and laid a liplock on me while grabbing my package; I won't/can't tell you what Wendy whispered in my ear here, but sure as shit we hooked up at a later date, she's in my top 5 sexiest encounters, she was only interested in pleasing me & she didn't say no to anything. :dance013:

If James Taylor didn't absolutely suck that night this might have had to have been considered one of my best concerts due to the Wendy thing :)

after sitting through the JT debacle I came to realize that his studio recordings had to have been tweaked at every turn. what was most annoying was him sliding his fingers up & down the heavier wrapped strings making that zzzzzziiiiippppp sound, fucking constantly. This was at a fairly small venue and we were no more than 20 feet from JT, I/we could hear every single zip of those strings. :nono:

Baron Greenback

The Cult at Brixton Academy, around 7 million people in there, the sound was too muddy and it was around 1000 degrees inside.
i even complained to the venue :)

Ashamed to even admit... Nickelback. Father in law thought it be good bonding time.... God I fucking hate nickelback.

That's fucking horrible. I'd stick a gun in my father in laws face if he tried to drag me to that but I also hate the guy. Hope yours isn't too bad, though his taste in music... ugh lol my father in law has a man crush on Justin Timberlake. I'd look seriously out of place at dome shit like that

"New" Misfits in Helsinki, Finland in 2010. Don't get me wrong, i love the Misfits, Danzig era and the later stuff. But that gig was just crap. Only recognized Jerry Only from the band. The set was, well, nothing. Just a stage and a light. They rushed thru the set list like ok, we got paid, let's play like 8 songs and get the heck on outta here. Left a bad taste in me mouth, was supposed to go out drinking with pals after that, but i just went home to sleep :)

I had to leave a 1973 Grateful Dead concert after three songs because my date OD'ed on some really good pot.

Prince - when he insisted on turning out all the lights and played in the dark. I left after 30 minutes.

my brother didn't live nearby my place but we worked together @ the family business, I'd met Wendy a bunch of times and she always looked hot, she had strawberry blond shoulder length hair and bangs, I fuckin' love bangs. But for this JT concert she showed up in a short dress, black stockings, heels, a chinchilla jacket and enough lip gloss to grease a submarine.......

Ahh The Brixton Academy. brings back great memories. I was a student in London in the 80s, saw possibly the best ever concert there. The Clash ,'Arthur Scargills Birthday Party' gig. They came out went straight into 'Tommy Gun' it was weird they had 2 lead guitarists that night a wall of loud sound. Brixton Academy legendary place..I remember the walk from the metro, loads of black dudes offering you weed, and inside was a constant cloud of ganja above the crowd. Saw a brilliant Echo and The Bunnymen concert there when they were at their peak. post Psychedilia by excellent musicians. Brilliant and incredibly loud were The Damned about 1980 in Liverpool Royal Court. Met them in the 'Legs of Man' after the concert!
Worst by far: Eric Clapton post Cream, post drugs (i think) early 8os just a turgid dull litany of pedestrian acoustic crap to a boring middle aged audience all seated , think it was Mchester.
Actually no worst was Suzanne Vega: christ never been to such a boring concert (had free tickets from magazine) , it was more painful watching dull middle England applauding the banality and all her pc songs. I gave her 2 songs and walked out muttering loudly ' load of poncy lesbian shite..fck off im out of here...'. I think it was the only time I have ever heckled a musician because she was flippin garbage.:)
