Hate to correct you, grizz, but 20 yrs ago I was buying genetics from the SSSC and Seed Bank, when these genetics were new, and not the tired things they've been reworked into today.
The 80's was a great time to be growing up until Operation Green Merchant in '89, a golden age for sure.
well I guess i should have said myself. I honestly never heard of the venders your talking about and never dreamed they were out there then. of course I had never heard of the internet either.I also dont agree with the water downed theory, granted some are but theres plenty out there that arent.

Check it for a walk down memory lane! OLD SEED CATALOGS

I totally agree, there are some VERY interesting things available, and there are 10X the choices than there used to be, but you really have to look carefully.
Most of what's available today are directly descended from those very seed catalog genetics.

I hope some breeder or seller can offer some insight as to why so many seed producers rarely have any stock? Its puzzling to me. I know the demand exists.

If you look across the seed banks,, many of the strains are empty and many have been for a long while. For instance, Cali - kush seeds from Seed B havent had seeds for years and others have had strains that went unavailable for years.

I wonder how this happens. I know the skills required to be a good breeder have zero relation to being able to run a business and I suspect that is the real problem because it doesn't seem to happen so much with the higher quality breeders like sensi or Paradise. Is it planning and management?

Perhaps some of you in the know can offer some insight into this phenomenon.

EVERYONE'S GOTTA VACATION!!!!!!!! ESP STONER SEEDS BREEDERS. I don't know. I know i freeked out, sold all my plants and moved to vegas for 6 monthes. only lasted 3. but still had to bail. lot of day in day out stress. responability is a bitch without a well behaved staff. anyone/everryone cracks sometime. right.????heeeheeh???? :bashhead: ?

well you all seem very knowledgable so maybe you can point me in the right direction.

I like the elites but I'm really interested in what I like to call the "exotics" and the freaks. I like strains like ducksfoot and purple afghan but I can't seem to find anything really exotic for sale on the bay. There are so many seeds, with all these wacky names its hard to find anything especially if you dont know what your really looking for. Everything looks the same to me...

So what strains would you suggest for someone with my pallet.

Having grown/smoked and seen almost all the "elite" cuts on the west coast... its all just hype and BS.

Breeders are great, they actually work a great strain over years of blood, sweat & tears and you, the buyer, have options for phenotypes. Cali isn't holding anything good, they're just holding an idea of good. Support small breeders that focus on a limited number of strains and you'll be rewarded..

For me personally, the only peeps that can entice me @ seedbay, are ACE and DJ Shorts gear. (Rez, don't take offense, got plenty o your gear stockpiled. :D)

Like I NEED anymore seeds.

Zoo, you blew it! They were advertised there for yrs.!
(be sure to take a gander @ the Cultivator's Choice catalog on pg.2 - that's where it all started!)
