Why don't all breeders pack there beans in tamper resistant packs?

How many wouldn't mind paying the extra buck for secure packaging and a little peace of mind?

Also, which breeders currently have secure packaging? I am more likely to buy from them.

Please do not turn this into a negative thread, no bashing, no rumors, no bs.

dutch passion seeds are in a sealed package. nirvana's are in little zip lock baggies inside the pack. these are the only two breeders i have ever had so far.
i supposed the packaging is most likely a cost factor. d.p. claims that their packaging keeps the seeds fresher.

sensi seeds come in a sticker closed box with a tamper proof seed container inside. i think the reason for it sometimes is that the breeder sends to seed companies in bulk. i think thats easier. they just pack it up before sale to the consumer

my Hill Temple Collective also come in sealed packs. there was some pics up when the HTC forum was still active.

most breeders dont make the extra step to have pre-sealed seed packs, it costs us more money.. usually, passionate and/or well established Co's dont mind the extra coin to deliver the goods tho.
and sometimes breeders just comin into the Biz dont have that extra coin to meet such a standard..

the last Spice Of Life pack I got was sealed (+2yrs ago)

HillTemple Collective seedpacks are deliverd in a sealed brown outter paper pkg, labeld, containing a sealed plastic pkg.

nirvana seeds comes like they picture above. i can vouch for nirvana tho i am growin out there bubblicious and its no bag seed trust me!!!! u could see a dusting of crystals before i even flowered!! and its very indica unlike my bag seed gros b4. i can't wait i got 2 females out of 3 seeds! they r 16 days into flower and the posts and pix r in the gro diary section!! i am happy!! i got 4 strains each 10 packs of nirvana and a 10 pack of a mystery strains all for 55 bux!!!!!! i only used 3 seeds so far and got 2 females! that paid for my whole thing and i have plenty more seeds!!!

-Paradise seeds comes in a glued breeder/colour envelope, and inside is a plastic package sealed on all edger, not like a zip-loc bag.

-Sensi Seeds as shown above.

-High Quality seeds comes in a package similar to Sensi

-Dutch Passion is similar to Paradise

-HTC is as Bub decribes

-Greenhouse seeds comes in a birth control looking package.

-Mandala has a sealed clear plastic envelope.

-Sensi's White Label company is like Mandala.

-Chimera is in a brown paper envelope.

-The Flying Dutchmen is like Paradise.

-SOL's originals are in Breeder Packs like Bub said.

-BOG's seeds sold thru Plan B and meduser are in sealed breeder packs.

-Sam the Skunkman has breeder packs on the originals, the non freebies.



That's all I can think of for now, I'm sure that I'm missing some.

I would assume the companies selling their stuff for $100-150 would be in sealed breeder packs, or at least they sure should be. Actualy for that much green it would be nice if they were in crush proof packaging, Considering HQS does it for even their $30 strains.

the best packaging IMO is by High Quality Seeds / Black Label

100% tamper proof... lol

note:
* if you buy seed at source, there is no reason why any breeder should wish to rip any grower off.

** places with a quick turn-over of seed-stock are often the best places to buy seeds.

*** the seed packet itself makes very little difference to the stock (see photo), so long as genetics are strong, seed come from good hands and have been treated correctly before hand. :wink:

i get my seed fresh and direct from the breeder usually. just comes in a little dimebag with the strain name written on it.

The thing with some breeder packs is that the Breeder sends bulk seed to a vendor and gives them the breeder packs to fill there selves sometimes,so even if its in Breeders packs if you come across some shady people it wont matter.I remember Bog or Pb saying they offered to give GN breeder packs for beans he already had ,so anyone could put anything in them if the breeder didnt pack them himself(But Gypsy has never done that,Ever!).-Sensi Seeds as shown above.

Afropips come in the nicest packaging ive come across yet, a nice matchbook type cardboard and in the middle a sealed plastic, crushproof little disc. very professional and very protective.

That sounds like how they used to come from emery .. little white matchbook type deal with a clear round plastic disc sealed with seeds inside.

Wow its been so long .. since i used to get those.

Maximising Profits & not going the extra mile for the customer might have something to do with it.
Full Colour Pro Packaging Design & Print does not come cheap.

Tamper resistance doesn't worry me so much as being crush proof. I wouldn't really worry about a vendor that I trust messing with the seeds and nobody would have any reason to so the way I look at it is if you don't trust the vendor in the first place then you shouldn't be ordering from them. Crush proof is another story, luckily for me I never had any seeds crushed but I'm sure it has happened.

Afropips, those are cool looking lil packs. The lil coin thing in the middle is like the thing that heaven's stairway used to ship in and I never had any seeds crushed.Nice work Bro

Actually the clear plastic container used is a complete
2 part crush proof (air proof) container & is far superior to the
Heavens Stairway plastic washer in a stapled coin pack affair
which also did a good job in preventing crushed seeds in the post.
